< Joshua 4 >
1 Tukun mwet Israel nukewa utyak tari nu finmes ah liki Infacl Jordan, LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Joshua,
And when they were passed over, the Lord said to Josue:
2 “Sulela mwet singoul luo, mwet se sin kais sie sruf,
Choose twelve men, one of every tribe:
3 ac sap elos in srukak kais sie eot liki infacl an yen mwet tol elos tu we, ac us welulos ac oakiya yen kowos ac mongla we ofong an.”
And command them to take out of the midst of the Jordan, where the feet of the priests stood, twelve very hard stones, which you shall set in the place of the camp, where you shall pitch your tents this night.
4 Ouinge Joshua el pangonma mwet singoul luo liki inmasrlon mwet uh su el srisrngiya liki inmasrlon kais sie sruf,
And Josue called twelve men, whom he had chosen out of the children of Israel, one out of every tribe,
5 ac fahk nu selos, “Fahsrot nu infulwen Infacl Jordan. Fahsr meet liki Tuptup in Wuleang lun LEUM GOD lowos, ac srukak kais sie eot nu finpisowos, fal nu ke pisen sruf lun Israel.
And he said to them: Go before the ark of the Lord your God to the midst of the Jordan, and carry from thence every man a stone on your shoulders, according to the number of the children of Israel,
6 Lela tuh ma inge in mwe akul nu suwos nu ke pacl tulik nutuwos uh ac mau siyuk in pacl tok uh lah mea kalmen eot inge,
That it may be a sign among you and when your children shall ask you tomorrow, saying: What mean these stones?
7 na kowos fah akkalemye nu selos lah kof ke Infacl Jordan tuh tui nwe ke Tuptup in Wuleang lun LEUM GOD utukyak liki infacl ah. Eot inge ac fah mwe asmakin nu sin mwet Israel ke ma inge nwe tok.”
You shall answer them: The waters of the Jordan ran off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, when it passed over the same: therefore were these atones set for a monument of the children of Israel for ever.
8 Na elos oru oana ke Joshua el sapkin nu selos. Elos srukak eot singoul luo liki infacl uh, fal nu ke pisen sruf lun Israel, oana ma LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sel Joshua, ac elos us eot inge nwe ke acn elos mongla we, ac filiya we.
The children of Israel therefore did as Josue commanded them, carrying out of the channel of the Jordan twelve stones, as the Lord had commanded him, according to the number of the children of Israel, unto the place wherein they camped, and there they set them.
9 Ac Joshua el oayapa oakiya eot singoul luo ke infulwen Infacl Jordan, yen ma mwet tol su us Tuptup in Wuleang elos tuh tu we ah, ac eot inge oasr na we nu misenge.
And Josue put other twelve stones in the midst of the channel of the Jordan, where the priests stood that carried the ark of the covenant: and they are there until this present day.
10 Mwet tol inge tuh tu na infulwen Infacl Jordan nwe ke na ma nukewa ma LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sel Joshua tuh elan fahk nu sin mwet uh ac safla, oapana ke Moses el tuh sapkin nu sel Joshua. Ouinge mwet uh fahsr sulaklak in sun finmes uh.
Now the priests that carried the ark, stood in the midst of the Jordan till all things were accomplished which the Lord had commanded Josue to speak to the people, and Moses had said to him. And the people made haste and passed over.
11 Ac tukun mwet nukewa utyak tari nu finmes, na mwet tol su us Tuptup in Wuleang lun LEUM GOD elos utyak ac sifil fahsr meet liki mwet uh.
And when they had all passed over, the ark also of the Lord passed over, and the priests went before the people.
12 Ac mukul ke sruf lal Reuben, ac sruf lal Gad, ac tafu sruf lal Manasseh, elos us mwe mweun ac fahsr meet liki mwet uh, oana ke Moses el tuh sapkin nu selos.
The children of Ruben also and Gad, and half the tribe of Manasses, went armed before the children of Israel as Moses had commanded them.
13 Apkuran in tausin angngaul pisen mwet su akola nu ke mweun pa utyak ye mutun LEUM GOD nu yen tupasrpasr sisken acn Jericho.
And forty thousand fighting men by their troops, and bands, marched through the plains and fields of the city of Jericho.
14 LEUM GOD El akfulatyal Joshua ke mwenmen ma el sang Joshua el oru ye mutun mwet Israel nukewa in len sac, ac mwet Israel nukewa elos oayapa akfulatyal Joshua ke lusen moul lal nufon, oana ke elos tuh akfulatyal Moses in pacl lal ah.
In that day the Lord magnified Josue in the sight of all Israel, that they should fear him, as they had feared Moses, while he lived.
15 Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Joshua,
And he said to him:
16 “Fahkang nu sin mwet tol su us Tuptup in Wuleang tuh elos in utyak liki Infacl Jordan.”
Command the priests, that carry the ark of the covenant, to come up out of the Jordan.
17 Na Joshua el oru oana.
And he commanded them, saying: Come ye up out of the Jordan.
18 Ouinge ke pacl se mwet tol elos tufahna sroak liki infacl ah nu finmes ah, na kof ke infacl ah sifilpa soror ac sronoti oana meet ah.
And when they that carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, were come up, and began to tread on the dry ground, the waters returned into the channel, and ran as they were wont before.
19 Mwet uh elos tuh fahsr sasla Infacl Jordan ke len aksingoul in malem se meet, ac elos tulokunak lohm nuknuk selos in acn Gilgal, kutulap in Jericho.
And the people came up out of the Jordan, the tenth day of the first month, and camped in Galgal, over against the east side of the city of Jericho.
20 Na eot singoul luo ma elos tuh us liki Infacl Jordan, Joshua el oakiya in acn Gilgal.
And the twelve stones which they had taken out of the channel of the Jordan, Josue pitched in Galgal,
21 Ac el fahk nu sin mwet Israel, “In pacl fahsru, tulik nutuwos fin siyuk suwos lah mea kalmen eot inge,
And said to the children of Israel: When your children shall ask their fathers, tomorrow, and shall say to them: What mean these stones?
22 na kowos fah srumun nu selos, ke pacl se mwet Israel tuh fahsr sasla Infacl Jordan elos fahsr ke acn pao.
You shall teach them and say: Israel passed over this Jordan through the dry channel.
23 Fahkang nu selos lah LEUM GOD lowos el tuh akpaoyela Infacl Jordan nwe ke na kut nukewa fahsr sasla infacl ah, oana El tuh oru nu sin mwet matu lasr meet ah ke El akpaoyela Meoa Srusra.
The Lord your God drying up the waters thereof in your sight, until you passed over: As he had done before in the Red Sea, which he dried up till we passed through:
24 El tuh oru ma inge tuh mwet in faclu nufon elos in etu ke ku lulap lun LEUM GOD, ac tuh kowos fah etu in akfulatye ac sunakin LEUM GOD lowos ma pahtpat.”
That all the people of the earth may learn the most mighty hand of the Lord, that you also may fear the Lord your God for ever.
