< John 4 >

1 Jesus el etu lah mwet Pharisee elos lohng tuh pus mwet el baptaisela, oayapa pus mwet tuma lutlut lal lukel John.
Thus when the Lord knew when the Pharisees heard that Jesus is making and baptizing more disciples than John
2 (Pwayeiya uh, Jesus sifacna el tiana baptaisela kutena mwet. Mwet tumal lutlut mukena pa baptaisi mwet.)
(truly Jesus himself was not baptizing, but His disciples),
3 Ouinge ke Jesus el lohng ma fwack inge, el fahsr liki acn Judea ac som nu Galilee.
He left Judea and came again into Galilee.
4 Ke el folok nu Galilee, el enenu in fahsr sasla acn Samaria.
And it behooved Him to go through Samaria.
5 Na el sun sie siti srisrik in Samaria pangpang Sychar, ma apkuran nu ke ipin acn se ma Jacob el tuh sang lal Joseph, wen natul.
Then He comes into a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the place which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Lufin kof lal Jacob oan we, ac Jesus el pituki siska ke sripen el totola ke fahsr lal.
And the well of Jacob was there. Then Jesus having become weary from the journey, was sitting thus by the well: it was about the sixth hour.
7 Sie mutan Samaria el tuku in ut kof, ac Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Ase nimuk kutu kof an.”
A woman comes from Samaria to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink.
8 (Mwet tumal lutlut elos som tari in moul mongo in siti uh.)
For His disciples had gone into the city, that they might purchase food.
9 Mutan sac fahk, “Kom sie mwet Jew, a nga mwet Samaria se — na fuka tuh kom ku in ngusr kof sik kom in nim?” (Mwet Jew tia ku in orekmakin ahlu ma mwet Samaria orekmakin.)
A Samaritan woman says to Him, How do you, being a Jew, ask to drink from me, being a Samaritan woman?
10 Jesus el fahk, “Kom tia etu ke mwe sang ma God El akoo in sot nu sum, ac kom tia pac etu lah su siyuk mwe nim sum. Kom funu etu, kom lukun siyuk sik ac nga sot nu sum kof in moul.”
And Jesus responded and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and the one who is speaking to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.
Kom ac eis kof in moul an fuka?
The woman says to Him, Sir, thou hast no windlass, and the well is deep: whence hast thou living water?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and himself and his sons, and his herds, drank of it?
Jesus responded and said to her, Every one drinking of this water shall thirst again:
14 a kutena mwet su nim ke kof se ma nga fah sang nu sel, ac fah tiana sifilpa malu. Tuh kof se ma nga fah sang nu sel ac fah ekla sie unon in kof in el, su ac fah sang nu sel kof in moul, oayapa moul ma pahtpat.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
but whosoever may drink of the water that I shall give to him shall never thirst; but the water which I shall give to him shall be in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 Ac mutan sac fahk, “Leum se, use nimuk kutu kof sacn! Na nga fah tia sifilpa malu, ac nga fah tia enenu in tuku nu inse inge in ut kof.”
Then the woman says to Him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to draw.
16 Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Fahla solama mukul tomom an, na komtal foloko nu yuruk.”
He says to her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 Ac mutan sac fahk, “Wangin mukul tumuk.” Jesus el fahk, “Pwaye fahk lom an lah wangin mukul tomom.
The woman responded and said, I have no husband. Jesus says to her, Well didst thou say, I have no husband:
18 Kom tuh payuk sin mukul limekosr, ac mukul se kom muta yoro inge tia ma tomom. Kom kaskas pwaye nu sik.”
for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: thou hast spoken this truly.
The woman says to Him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Mwet matu tumuk meet ah elos tuh alu nu sin God fineol soko inge, a kowos mwet Jew fahk mu Jerusalem mukena pa acn se ma fal mwet uh in alu nu sin God we.”
Our fathers worshiped in this mountain; and you say, that in Jerusalem is the place where it behooveth to worship.
21 Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Mutan, lulalfongiyu, mweyen pacl se ac tuku ke mwet fah tia alu nu sin Papa fineol soko inge ku in Jerusalem.
Jesus says to her, Believe me, woman, that the hour cometh, you will worship the Father neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem.
22 Kowos mwet Samaria tia arulana etu lah su kowos alu nu se, tusruktu kut mwet Jew etu lah su kut alu nu se, mweyen molela lun God nu sin mwet uh ac tuku ke mwet Jew.
You worship, you know not what: we worship that which we know: because salvation is of the Jews.
23 Tusruktu pacl se ac tuku, aok tuku tari, ke mwet alu pwaye elos ac kolyuk ke ngun in alu nu sin Papa fal nu ke ma pwaye. Pa inge elos su Papa El suk in alu nu sel.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such worshiping Him.
24 God El Ngun, ac ku lun Ngun lal mukena pa oru mwet uh in alu nu sel ke pwaye.”
God is a Spirit, and it behooveth those who worship Him to worship in spirit and in truth.
The woman says to Him, I know that Messiah cometh (who is called Christ): when He may come, He will proclaim to us all things.
Jesus says to her, I who speak to thee am He.
27 In pacl sac mwet tumal lutlut lun Jesus elos foloko, ac elos arulana lut in liye lah el kaskas nu sin mutan se.
And at this time His disciples came, and were wondering because He was speaking with the woman; no one said, What seekest thou? or, Why do you speak with her?
28 Na mutan sac filiya sufa in kof lal ac folokla nu in siti uh, ac fahk nu sin mwet we,
Then the woman left her waterpot, and went away into the city, and says to the men,
29 “Fahsru liye mwet se su fahkma nu sik ma nukewa nga oru meet ah. Ya acnu tia el pa Christ?”
Come hither, see the man who told me all things which I did: Is not He the Christ?
They came out from the city, and came to Him.
31 In pacl sac, mwet lutlut elos kwafe sin Jesus, “Mwet Luti, eiswin kutu mwe mongo uh!”
Meanwhile His disciples were asking Him, saying, Master eat.
32 A el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Oasr mwe mongo nak ma kowos tia etu kac.”
He said to them, I have meat to eat, which you know not.
33 Ouinge mwet tumal lutlut elos mutawauk in asiyuki inmasrlolos sifacna, “Ya oasr mwet use mwe mongo nu yorol?”
Then His disciples were speaking to one another, Whether has any one brought Him something to eat?
34 Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Mwe mongo nak pa in akos ma lungse lun El su supweyume, ac in aksafye orekma El ase nu sik in oru.
Jesus says to them, My food is that I may do the will of Him that sent me, and finish His work.
35 Oasr soakas se lowos ma fahk mu, ‘Malem akosr lula na pacl in kosrani.’ Tusruktu nga fahk nu suwos, ngetla liye imae akwoya. Fahko kac matula inge, ac akola nu ke kosrani!
Do you not say, That it is yet four months, and the harvest cometh? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes and see the fields, because they are white unto the harvest
already. He that reapeth receiveth reward, and gathereth fruit unto eternal life; in order that both the sower and the reaper may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
37 Tuh soakas sac pwaye ma fahk mu, ‘Sie mwet yukwiya, ac sie pacna mwet fah kosrani.’
For in this the word is true, that there is one sowing, and another reaping.
38 Nga supwekowosla in eisani fahko in sie ima ma kowos tia orekma kac. Kutena mwet tuh orekma kac, a kowos eis woiyen orekma lalos.”
I have sent you to reap that upon which you have never labored: others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.
39 Mwet puspis sin mwet Samaria in siti sac lulalfongi ke Jesus ke sripen mutan sac fahk, “El fahkma nu sik ma nukewa su nga tuh oru meet ah.”
But many of the Samaritans from that city believed on Him through the word of the woman, testifying that, He told me all things which I did. Then when the Samaritans came to Him they asked Him to abide with them:
40 Ouinge ke mwet Samaria elos tuku nu yurin Jesus, elos kwafe sel elan muta yorolos, na el muta we len luo.
and He remained there two days:
41 Mwet puspis wi pac lulalfongi ke sripen fahkak lal,
and many more believed on Him through His word;
42 ac elos fahk nu sin mutan sac, “Inge kut lulalfongi, tia ke sripen ma kom fahk, a ke sripen kut sifacna lohngol, ac kut etu lah pwaye, el pa Mwet Lango lun faclu.”
and they continued to say to the woman, We no longer believe through your talk; for we have heard and we know that He is truly the Savior of the world.
43 Tukun Jesus el muta we ke len luo, el mukuiyak ac som nu Galilee.
And after two days He departed thence into Galilee.
44 El tuh sifacna fahk, “Sie mwet palu el tia akfulatyeyuk in facl sel sifacna.”
And Jesus Himself witnessed, that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 Ke el sun acn Galilee, mwet in acn sac paingul mweyen elos wi som nu ke Kufwen Alukela se ma orek Jerusalem, ac elos tuh liye ma nukewa ma el oru ke pacl in kufwa sac.
And when He came into Galilee, Galileans received Him, having seen all things which He did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also came to the feast.
46 Toko Jesus el folokla nu Cana in Galilee, acn se ma el tuh ekulla kof nu ke wain we. Oasr sie mwet fulat lun government tuh muta we su wen se natul mas in acn Capernaum.
Then He came again into Cana of Galilee, where He turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royalist, whose son was sick in Capernaum;
he having heard that Jesus has come out of Judea into Galilee, came away to Him, and continued to ask Him that He may come down and heal his son; for He was about to die.
48 Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Kowos fin tia liye orekma usrnguk ku mwenmen, kowos fah tia lulalfong.”
Then Jesus said to him, Unless you may see signs and wonders, you can not believe.
49 Na mwet sac fahk, “Leum, fahsru wiyu meet liki tulik se nutik ah misa.”
The nobleman says to Him, Lord, come down before my little child dies.
50 Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Fahsrot, wen nutum el ac moul na!” Mwet sac lulalfongi kas lun Jesus ac el som.
Jesus says to him, Go; thy son liveth. The man believed the word which Jesus spoke to him, and departed.
51 Ke el srakna fahsr inkanek uh, mwet kulansap lal ah sonol ac fahk nu sel, “Wen nutum el kwela!”
And he already coming down, the servants met him, and reported, that the child lives.
52 El siyuk selos lah ac pacl su wen se natul ah kwela, ac elos topuk, “Fol lal ah wanginla lukel ke ao se ma tafun len tok ekea.”
Then he inquired the hour at which he began to improve; and they said to him, The fever left him at the seventh hour yesterday.
53 Na papa sac esamak lah ac ao sac pacna pa Jesus el fahkang nu sel mu, “Wen nutum el ac moul na.” Ouinge el, ac sou lal nukewa lulalfongila.
Then the father knew that it was at that hour at which Jesus said to him, Thy son liveth: and he and all his house believed.
Jesus, having again come out of Judea into Galilee, wrought this second miracle.
