< Job 38 >

1 Na LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sel Job in paka uh me, ac fahk:
Then did the Lord address Job out of the storm-wind, and said,
2 “Su kom an ku kusen siyuk nu ke lalmwetmet luk uh Ke kas na lalfon ac wangin kalmac lom ingan?
Who is this that casteth darkness [on my] counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Fin mukul se pa kom, tuyak inge Ac topuk ma nga ac siyuk sum uh.
Do but gird up like a mighty man thy loins: and I will ask thee, and do thou inform me.
4 Ku kom tuh muta ke nga orala faclu ah? Fin arulana yohk etu lom an, kwal srumun ngan lohng.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? tell it, if thou hast any understanding [of it].
5 Su tuh wotela mu in pa inge lupan faclu ah? Su tuh asroelik lain in srikasrak uh nu fac ah? Ku kom etu nufon top nu ke ma inge?
Who fixed her measurements, if thou knowest it? or who stretched the measuring-line over her?
6 Mea sruokya sru ma loangeak faclu uh? Su tuh oakiya eot in sruwasrik lun faclu?
Upon what are her foundation-pillars placed at rest? or who laid her corner-stone:
7 Ke tafun lotu in len sac, itu uh tuh tukeni on, Ac lipufan uh sala ke engan.
When altogether sang the morning stars in gladness, and shouted for joy all the sons of God?
8 “Su tuh kaliya mutunpot ma sikulya meoa ah Ke kof uh pisrme liki kapin faclu ah?
And who closed up with doors the sea, when, issuing forth, it came out of the deep bosom of the earth?
9 Nga pa tuh afinya inkof uh ke pukunyeng Ac nokomla ke lohsr lulap ah.
When I made the clouds its garment, and thick fog its swaddling-cloth,
10 Nga tuh akilenya masrol se lun inkof uh, Ac filiya oan tukun mutunpot ma srumasryukla arulana ku.
And when I decreed for it my law, and set [for it] bars and doors,
11 Ac nga fahk nu sin meoa uh, ‘Safla na insacn! Kuiyen noa lom an ac fah tui na inse.’
And said, Thus far mayest thou come, but no farther; and here shall be stayed [thy strength] in the pride of thy waves?
12 Job, ku nu oasr len se in moul lom uh Ma kom sap faht uh in takak?
Didst thou ever, in all thy days, command the morning; didst thou ever assign the morning-dawn its place:
13 Nu oasr pacl kom sap tafun lotu uh in sruokya faclu Ac osrokak mwet sulallal uh liki acn in wikwik lalos uh?
That it might lay hold of the ends of the earth, so that the wicked might be shaken out therefrom?
14 Kalmen len uh oru tuh fineol uh ac infahlfal uh in arulana kohn — Oana ikwikeni ke sie nuknuk, Kalem oana inken sie sil ma itungyuki fin fohk kle uh.
She is changed as the sealing-clay: and [all things] stand as though newly clad.
15 Kalem lun len uh arulana saromrom nu sin mwet koluk, Pa ikololosi liki anwuk sulallal.
And from the wicked is their light withdrawn, and the high-raised arm is broken.
16 “Ku nu oasr pacl kom som nu ke unon in kof ma oan in acn loal meoa? Nu oasr pacl kom fahsr fin kapin meoa uh?
Didst thou ever penetrate as far as the springs of the sea? or wander through the bottom of the deep?
17 Nu oasr mwet akkalemye nu sum mutunpot Su karingin acn lohsr lun facl sin mwet misa?
Were the gates of death ever laid open unto thee? or canst thou see the doors of the shadow of death?
18 Mea, kalem sum lah faclu lupa kac? Topukyu kom fin etu.
Hast thou a clear understanding of the breadth of the earth? Tell it, if thou knowest it all.
19 “Kom etu lah kalem uh tuku ya me, Ku lah pia acn ma lohsr uh mutawauk we uh?
Where is the way [to the spot where] the light dwelleth? and the darkness—where is its place,
20 Ya kom ku in srisrngiya acn kalem uh ac lohsr uh in tui we, Na sifilpa folokunultalma nu yen seltal uh?
That thou mightest take each to its boundary, and that thou mightest mark the pathways to its house?
21 Sahp kom ac ku, mweyen kom arulana matu, Ac kom tuh isusla oe ke faclu orekla ah!
Thou [surely] knowest it; because thou wast then born, and the number of thy days is great!
22 “Kom nu utyak nu in acn in filma Su nga filiya snow ac af yohk kosra uh we?
Didst thou ever enter into the treasuries of the snow? or canst thou see the treasuries of the hail,
23 Nga filiyana oan akola nu ke pacl elya ac sikyak, Ac nu ke len in lokoalok ac mweun.
Which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of fight and battle?
24 Kom nu som nu ke acn faht ah takak we, Ku acn ma eng kutulap uh tuh we me uh?
Where is the way [to the spot where] the light divideth itself, [where] the east wind is scattered over the earth?
25 “Su pukanak inyoa ma af uh ac kahkla kac, Ac sakunla inkanek lun pusren pulahl in pacl in paka?
Who hath divided off watercourses for the overflowing rain, and a way for the lightning [that is followed by] thunders,
26 Su oru tuh af uh in kahkla yen wangin mwet muta we?
To bring rain on a land, void of men; on a wilderness wherein no son of earth [is found];
27 Su aksroksrokye acn ma pulamlamla ac arulana enenu kof, Tuh mah uh in ku in srunak we?
To satisfy waste and desolate lands; and to promote the growth of the tender grass?
28 Ku oasr papa tumun af uh ku aunfong uh?
Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of the dew?
29 Su oswela ice ac aunfong ma kekela uh,
Out of whose womb cometh forth the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven—who giveth birth to it?
30 Ma oru tuh kof in ekla oana eot, Ac orala fin kof uh in tipenmarla?
[When] like a stone the waters are congealed, and the face of the deep is bound in fetters?
31 “Ya kom ku in kapriya un itu Pleiades nu sie, Ku tulala mwe lohl ma kapriya un itu Orion uh?
Canst thou bind together the chains of the Pleiades, or loosen the bands of Orion?
32 Kom ku in pakiya mukuikui lun itu uh ke pacl la, Ac kol un itu ma petsaela Mwe Yuyu Lulap se ac Mwe Yuyu Srisrik sac uh?
Canst thou bring forth the constellations of the zodiac, each in its season? or canst thou guide the Bear with its young?
33 Ku kom etu ma sap ma karingin acn engyeng uh, Ac kom ku in oru tuh ma sap inge in orekmakinyuk pac faclu?
Knowest thou the laws of heaven? or dost thou appoint its rule on the earth?
34 “Kom ku in wowoyak ac sapsap nu sin pukunyeng uh Ac oru tuh elos in fwikomla in wolak ke af?
Canst thou lift up to the clouds thy voice, that the abundance of waters may cover thee?
35 Ac kom fin sap sarom uh in sarmelik, Ya ac ku in tuku nu yurum ac fahk, ‘Kut a inge. Mea pac kut in oru?’
Canst thou send out lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here are we?
36 Su fahk nu sin won ibis lah Infacl Nile ac sronoti, Ku su fahk nu sin won wa mukul uh lah ac afi?
Who hath put wisdom in the dark clouds? or who hath given understanding to the bright meteors?
37 Su oasr etauk yoro, ac ku in oakla pukunyeng uh, Ac eklulosyak in kahkinya af uh —
Who ordaineth the skies with wisdom? or who emptieth out the bottles of heaven.
38 Af su folsani fohkfok uh ac srukoalela?
When the dust is poured out as molten metal, and the clods are made to cleave fast together?
39 “Ku kom pa sokak mongo nun lion uh, Ac akkihpye lion fusr su masrinsral
Dost thou hunt for the lioness her prey? and suppliest thou the food for the young lions,
40 Ke elos ac wikwik in luf lalos uh, Ku oan in luf kialos soan ma elos in uniya uh?
When they are couched in their lairs, rest in the thicket, lying in wait?
41 Su sang mongo nu sin won raven uh Ke pacl elos forfor masrinsral, Ac ke pacl won fusr natulos uh pang nu sik in sukok mongo?
Who provideth for the raven his provision? when his young ones cry unto God, and wander about for lack of food?
