< Job 28 >
1 “Oasr luf ma silver uh pukpukyak we; Oasr pac acn ma gold uh aknasnasyeyuk we.
For truly there is a source for the silver, and a place for the gold which men refine.
2 Mwet uh pukanak osra liki ye fohk uh Ac munanla copper uh in kofelik ac sororla liki eot uh.
Iron is taken out of the dust, and the stone is melted into copper.
3 Mwet uh suk pac acn ma lohsr oemeet in konauk ma oan we. Elos suk in acn loal lun faclu Ac pukanak yen lohsr uh in konauk eot uh.
An end doth he set to darkness, and the very utmost limit doth he search out, the stones of darkness, and of the shadow of death.
4 Loes liki acn ma mwet uh muta we — Acn ma falken mwet uh soenna fahsr we — Mwet uh pikin laf ye eol uh, Yen ma elos ac mukena orekma we. Elos ac atla na ke sucl uh ke elos ac orekma in luf uh.
He breaketh a channel far from the inhabited place; those of unsteady foot, the poorest of men move [there about].
5 Mwe mongo kapak infohk uh yak, A ye pacna infohk se inge Ma nukewa itungyuki ac musalsalu.
The earth, out of which cometh forth bread, is under its surface turned up as it were with fire.
6 Eot infohk uh oasr wek sapphire kac, Ac kutkut in faclu oasr gold kac.
Her stones are the place whence the sapphire cometh; and golden dust is also there;
7 Won hawk uh tia ku in liye inkanek nu ke lufin puk ma saok uh, Won vulture tia pac wi sohksok fin acn inge.
[On the] path which no bird of prey knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not surveyed;
8 Wangin lion ku kutena kosro sulallal Wi forfor ke inkanek muku inge.
[Which] ravenous beasts have never trodden, over which the lion hath never passed.
9 “Mwet uh pikin eot ma arulana keke, Ac ikruiya eol uh ke elos pukanla pe eol uh.
To the flinty rock he stretcheth forth his hand; he overturneth the mountains from the root.
10 Ke elos ac putala lufin eot uh, Elos konauk wek na saok.
Amid rocks he heweth out canals: and every precious thing doth his eye behold.
11 Elos ac pikin nwe sun acn ma infacl uh soror we me, Ac oru tuh ma wikla oan yen lohsr uh in ku in liyeyuk.
The various droppings of water he uniteth into streams, and what is hidden he bringeth forth to light.
12 Tusruktu, pia acn ma lalmwetmet uh ku in koneyukyak we? Kut ac luti ya kut in etala?
But wisdom—where shall she he found? and where is the place of understanding?
13 “Lalmwetmet uh tia ma ac ku in koneyukyak yurin mwet uh; Wangin mwet etu lupan saokiya.
Man knoweth not her value: and she is not to be found in the land of the living.
14 Yen loal in meoa uh, ku inkof uh Fahk mu lalmwetmet uh tia koneyukyak we.
The deep saith, Not in me is she: and the sea saith, She is not with me.
15 Silver ac gold tia ku in sang moli.
No fine gold can be given in lieu of her, and silver cannot be weighed out as her price.
16 Gold ma wo oemeet, ku wek ma arulana saok, Tia ku in saok oana lalmwetmet uh.
She cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 Lalmwetmet uh saok liki gold, Ac saok liki sufa orekla ke gold, ku glass ma wo emeet uh.
She cannot be estimated after gold and glass; and not in exchange for her [can] vessels of refined gold [be taken.]
18 Saok lun lalmwetmet uh yohk liki Ma saok inkof uh, ku wek crystal ac ruby.
Coral and crystal will not be thought of; and the value of wisdom is above pearls.
19 Wek topaz ac gold ma wo oemeet uh Tia ku in lumweyuk nu ke saok lun lalmwetmet uh.
She cannot be estimated after the topaz of Ethiopia, nor can she be valued with pure gold.
20 “Fin angan, na pia mutaweyen lalmwetmet? Kut ac luti ya kut in etala?
But wisdom—whence cometh she? and where is the place of understanding?
21 Wangin ma oasr moul la ku in liye, Finne won ke pacl el sohksok uh el tia pac liye.
Yea, she is hidden from the eyes of all living, and from the fowls of the heavens is she concealed.
22 Finne misa, ku mwe kunausla, Eltal fahk mu eltal lohng mukena ke srumunyuk.
Perdition and death say, With our ears have we heard a report of her.
23 “God mukena pa etu inkanek nu we, Ac etu lah lalmwetmet uh ac koneyukyak oya,
God [alone] understandeth her way, and he knoweth her place;
24 Mweyen El liye acn nukewa faclu, Ac liye ma nukewa ma oan ye kusrao.
For he looketh to the ends of the earth, [whatever is] under the whole heaven doth he see.
25 Ke God El sang ku nu sin eng uh, Ac wotela lah ac pia lupan meoa uh;
When he imparted weight unto the wind; and [when] the waters he established by measure;
26 Ke pacl se God se sulela lah af uh ac kahkla oya, Ac inkanek ma pukunyeng in pulahl uh ac fahsr kac;
When he made a law for the rain, and a way for the lightning of [his] thunders;
27 Pa ingan pacl se ma God El liye lalmwetmet, ac srikeya lupan woiya uh, Na El akkeyala.
Then did he see her, and make her known; he established her, and also searched her out.
28 “God El fahk nu sin mwet uh, ‘Kowos fin ke lalmwetmet, kowos enenu in sunakin Leum. Ac kowos fin lungse etauk, kowos enenu in forla liki ma koluk.’”
And he said unto man, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to eschew evil is understanding.
