< Job 16 >
1 Na Job el topuk ac fahk,
And Job answers and says:
2 “Nga lohng tari kain sramsram ingan meet; Ac kas in kasru lomtal ingan mwe na akkeok.
“I have heard many such things, Miserable comforters [are] you all.
3 Mea, komtal ac sramsram na nwe tok? Ya komtal lungse in komtal na pa aksafye sramsram uh pacl nukewa?
Is there an end to words of wind? Or what emboldens you that you answer?
4 Funu komtal pa nga, ac nga pa komtal, Nga lukun ku pac in fahk ma nukewa komtal fahk ingan. Nga lukun usruk pac sifuk oana ngan pakomutomtal, Ac fahkot kas puspis in lain kowos.
I also, like you, might speak, If your soul were in my soul’s stead. I might join against you with words, And nod at you with my head.
5 Nga lukun akkeye komtal ke kas in kasru, Ac srumun pacna kutu kas saya in akwoye komtal.
I might harden you with my mouth, And the moving of my lips might be sparing.
6 “Tusruktu kas nga fahk uh tiana kasreyu, Ac nga fin mutana tia kas, ac tia pacna aksrikyela mwaiok luk uh.
If I speak, my pain is not restrained, And I cease—what goes from me?
7 O God, kom oru nga arulana foroti; Kom tuh lela sou luk in anwukla.
Only, now, it has wearied me; You have desolated all my company,
8 Kom kapriyuwi. Kom mwet lokoalok luk. Inge nga sri na kolo, Ac mwet uh pangon mu ma inge akpwayei lah oasr ma koluk luk.
And You loathe me, For it has been a witness, And my failure rises up against me, It testifies in my face.
9 “In kasrkusrak lal, God El eya kupasr nukewa ke monuk, El foloyak ac suiyuwi.
His anger has torn, and He hates me, He has gnashed at me with His teeth, My adversary sharpens His eyes for me.
10 Mwet uh isrunyu; Elos kahkeni nu yuruk ac puok likintupuk.
They have gaped on me with their mouth, In reproach they have struck my cheeks, Together they set themselves against me.
11 God El eisyuyang nu inpoun mwet koluk.
God shuts me up to the perverse, And turns me over to the hands of the wicked.
12 Nga tuh muta in misla, Na God El sruokya kwawuk; El puokyu nwe itungyuwi. El oreyu oana sie mwe lutlut pisr,
I have been at ease, and He breaks me, And He has laid hold on my neck, And He breaks me in pieces, And He raises me to Him for a mark.
13 Ac pisrik sukan pisr nu keik liki acn nukewa — Sukan pisr inge fakisyu ac kanteyuwi; Ne ouinge, el tiana luman pakomutuk.
His archers go around against me. He split my reins, and does not spare, He pours out my gall to the earth.
14 El nuna fakisyu na Oana sie mwet mweun ma wella ke srunga lal uh.
He breaks me—breach on breach, He runs on me as a mighty one.
15 “Nga asor ac nokomang nuknuk yohk eoa, Ac nga pituki na muta infohk uh, lip na pwaye.
I have sewed sackcloth on my skin, And have rolled my horn in the dust.
16 Nga tung nwe srusrala atronmutuk, Ac kulun mutuk fafwak ac inken tungla.
My face is foul with weeping, And on my eyelids [is] death-shade.
17 Tusruktu nga tiana oru kutena ouiya sulallal, Ac nga pre nu sin God ke inse na pwaye.
Not for violence in my hands, And my prayer [is] pure.
18 “O Faclu, nimet okanla ma koluk ma orek nu sik! Nimet tulokinya pang luk ke nga suk nununku suwohs!
O earth, do not cover my blood! And let there not be a place for my cry.
19 Aok pwayena, oasr mwet se inkusrao Su ac fah tuyak wiyu lac, ac kasreyu.
Also, now, behold, my witness [is] in the heavens, And my testifier in the high places.
20 Mwet kawuk luk inge elos aksruksrukeyu; Ac sronin mutuk kahkla nu sin God.
My interpreter [is] my friend, My eye has dropped to God;
21 Nga ke sie mwet ah in kwafe sin God keik, Oana ke sie mwet el kwafe ke mwet kawuk lal.
And He reasons for a man with God, As a son of man for his friend.
22 Yac luk somsomlana, Ac nga fahsr ke soko inkanek ma nga tia ku in foloko we me.
When a few years come, Then I go [on] the path of no return.”
