Jeremiah 9

Oh, that my head were a spring of water, and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night over the slain daughter of my people.
2 Nga kena in oasr sie acn nga in muta we in acn mwesis Nga in ku in som nu we loes liki mwet luk. Elos nukewa tia pwaye nu sin God, Sie un mwet kutasrik.
If only I had a traveler’s lodge in the wilderness, I would abandon my people and depart from them, for they are all adulterers, a crowd of faithless people.

“They bend their tongues like bows; lies prevail over truth in the land. For they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not take Me into account,”
4 Kais sie mwet enenu in sismouk ac taranul liki mwet kawuk lal, Ac wangin sie ku in lulalfongi ma lel; Tuh tamulel nukewa kutasrik oana Jacob, Ac mwet nukewa fahk kas kikiap in akkolukye mwet kawuk lalos.
“Let everyone guard against his neighbor; do not trust any brother, for every brother deals craftily, and every friend spreads slander.
5 Elos nukewa kiapu mwet tulan lalos, Ac wangin sie kaskas pwaye; Elos pahla in kaskas kikiap; Elos oru na ma koluk nwe toloala in auli.
Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they wear themselves out committing iniquity.
6 Elos sulallal na sulallal, Ac kutasrik na kutasrik! LEUM GOD El fahk lah mwet lal elos fahsr lukel.
You dwell in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to know Me,”
7 Ke sripa inge LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk, “Inge nga fah aknasnasye mwet luk oana ke mwet uh aknasnasye osra ke e, Ac srikelos. Mwet luk uh orekma koluk — Ku mea nga ku in sifil oru nu selos?
Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will refine them and test them, for what else can I do because of the daughter of My people?
8 Lohulos oana sukan pisr ma uniya mwet. Elos fahk kas kikiap pacl nukewa. Elos nukewa kaskas kulang nu sin mwet tulan lalos, Sruhk elos akoo in srifusrulosi.
Their tongues are deadly arrows; they speak deception. With his mouth a man speaks peace to his neighbor, but in his heart he sets a trap for him.
9 Ya nga fah tia kaelos ke ma inge? Ya nga fah tia foloksak nu sin sie mutunfacl su oru ouinge? Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
Should I not punish them for these things? declares the LORD. Should I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?”
10 Na nga fahk, “Nga fah tungi eol uh Ac arulana asor ke acn musrasra, Mweyen elos pulamlamla, Ac wangin mwet fufahsryesr we. Pusren cow uh tia sifilpa lohngyuk; Won yen engyeng uh ac kosro inimae kaingelik som.”
I will take up a weeping and wailing for the mountains, a dirge over the wilderness pasture, for they have been scorched so no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. Both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled; they have gone away.
11 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Nga fah oru acn Jerusalem in sie yol in ma musalla, Sie acn in muta lun kosro lemnak uh; Siti in acn Judah fah mwesisla, Acn ma wangin mwet muta we.”
“And I will make Jerusalem a heap of rubble, a haunt for jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
12 Nga siyuk, “LEUM GOD, efu acn inge ku filfilla ac pulamlamla oana yen mwesis uh, pwanang wangin mwet fahsr sasla we? Su lalmwetmet in kalem ke ma se inge? Su kom aketeya nu se tuh elan ku in fahkak nu sin mwet ngia?”
Who is the man wise enough to understand this? To whom has the mouth of the LORD spoken, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a desert, so no one can pass through it?
13 LEUM GOD El topuk, “Ma inge sikyak mweyen mwet luk elos sisla mwe luti nga sang nu selos. Elos tiana akosyu, ku oru ma nga fahk nu selos.
And the LORD answered, “It is because they have forsaken My law, which I set before them; they have not walked in it or obeyed My voice.
14 A elos likkekena, ac alu nu ke ma sruloala lal Baal, oana papa tumalos lotelos in oru.
Instead, they have followed the stubbornness of their hearts and gone after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.”

Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will feed this people wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.

I will scatter them among the nations that neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send a sword after them until I have finished them off.”
17 LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk, “Nunku ke ma sikyak inge! Pangonma mutan mwemelil uh in tuku, Elos in onkakin on in pukmas.”
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Take note, and summon the wailing women; send for the most skillful among them.
18 Mwet uh fahk, “Fahk nu selos in sulaklak yuk soko on in pukmas nu sesr, Nwe ke mutasr nwanala ke sroninmuta, Ac kufinmutasr sroksroki ke tung.”
Let them come quickly and take up a lament over us, that our eyes may overflow with tears, and our eyelids may gush with water.
19 Porongo pusren tung Zion me: “Kut sikiyukla! Kut arulana aklusrongtenyeyukla! Kut enenu in som liki acn sesr. Lohm sesr uh kunausyukla.”
For the sound of wailing is heard from Zion: ‘How devastated we are! How great is our shame! For we have abandoned the land because our dwellings have been torn down.’”

Now, O women, hear the word of the LORD. Open your ears to the word of His mouth. Teach your daughters to wail, and one another to lament.
21 Misa utyak in winto lasr uh Ac ilyak nu in lohm lulap wowo sesr; El onela tulik srisrik inkanek uh, Ac mukul fusr ke nien kuka uh.
For death has climbed in through our windows; it has entered our fortresses to cut off the children from the streets, the young men from the town squares.
22 Monin mwet misa oaclik yen nukewa, Oana fohkon kosro ke oan inima uh. Oana wheat ma mwet kosrani pakela ac sisla, Wheat ma wangin mwet telani. Pa inge ma LEUM GOD El sapkin ngan fahk.”
Declare that this is what the LORD says: “The corpses of men will fall like dung upon the open field, like newly cut grain behind the reaper, with no one to gather it.”
23 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet lalmwetmet in tia konkin ke lalmwetmet lalos, Ac mwet ku in tia pac konkin ke ku lalos. Ac mwet kasrup in tia konkin ke mwe kasrup lalos.
This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches.
24 Mwet se fin lungse konkin, Elan konkin lah el eteyu ac el kalem keik. Mweyen lungse luk oan ma pahtpat, Ac nga oru ma suwohs ac pwaye fin faclu. Pa inge ma akinsewowoyeyu. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth— for I delight in these things,”
25 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Pwayena lah pacl se ac fah tuku ke nga fah kaelos nukewa su kosrala in mano, tusruktu elos tiana moul fal nu ke wuleang lun kosrala.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will punish all who are circumcised yet uncircumcised:
26 Nga fah kai mwet Egypt, mwet Judah, mwet Edom, mwet Amon, mwet Moab, ac elos su muta yen mwesis su koala aunsuf ke likintupalos. Inmasrlon mwet inge, oayapa inmasrlon mwet Israel, wangin sie selos moul fal nu ke wuleang luk.”
Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair of their temples. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.”
