< Jeremiah 8 >
1 “Ke pacl sac, srin tokosra ac mwet fulat lun Judah, ac oayapa srin mwet tol ac mwet palu, ac srin mwet saya su tuh muta in Jerusalem, ac fah pukpukyak liki kulyuk lalos.
At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
2 Srelos ac fah oanna fin fohk uh oana fohkon kosro — ac fah oaclik ye faht, malem, ac itu uh, ma mwet inge elos tuh lungse ac kulansupu, ac su elos lolngok yoro ac alu nu kac. Ac tia orekeni in sifil pukpuki.
And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshiped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, who remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.
Moreover, thou shalt say to them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?
5 Na kowos, mwet luk, efu ku kowos forla likiyu ac tiana sifil foloko? Kowos sruasralana nu ke ma sruloala lowos ac srunga foloko nu yuruk.
Why [then] hath this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
6 Nga arulana lipsre, tuh kowos tiana kaskas pwaye. Tia sie suwos inse asor ke orekma koluk lal. Tia sie suwos siyuk, ‘Ya oasr tafongla nga orala?’ Kais sie mwet ukwena lungse lal sifacna, oana soko horse kasrusr akwot nu ke mweun.
I hearkened and heard, [but] they spoke not aright: no man repented of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth to the battle.
7 Finne won stork uh elos etu na pacl in folok lalos. Won dove, swallow, ac thrush elos etu pacl in mukuila nu ke sie pac acn. A kowos, mwet luk, tia etu ma sap su nga oakiya nu suwos.
Yes, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.
8 Kowos ku in fahk fuka lah kowos lalmwetmet ac etu ma sap luk? Liye, ma sap uh ikla sin mwet sim kutasrik.
How do ye say, We [are] wise, and the law of the LORD [is] with us? Lo, certainly in vain he hath made [it]; the pen of the scribes [is] in vain.
9 Mwet lalmwetmet lowos elos mwekinla; nunak lalos fohsak ac elos srifusryuki.
The wise [men] are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom [is] in them?
10 Ke ma inge nga fah sang ima lalos ac mutan kialos nu sin kutena mwet. Mwet nukewa, mwet fulat ac mwet srisrik, elos srike in orek mani ke inkanek kutasrik. Finne mwet palu ac mwet tol, elos kiapu pac mwet uh.
Therefore will I give their wives to others, [and] their fields to them that shall inherit [them]: for every one from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even to the priest every one dealeth falsely.
For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when [there is] no peace.
12 Mwet luk, ya kowos mwekin ke kowos oru ma srungayuk inge? Mo, kowos tiana mwekin kutu srisrik. Kowos tia pacna ngetnget in mwekin. Ke ma inge kowos ac fah misa oana mwet misa tari.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
13 “Nga kena eisani mwet luk, oana ke sie mwet orani kosrani lal; tusruktu elos oana sak grape ma wangin grape olo, oana sak fig ma wangin fahko; finne sra uh, masla pac. Ke sripa inge, nga fuhlela mwet saya in orekmakin acn inge.”
I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: [there shall be] no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig-tree, and the leaf shall fade; and [the things that] I have given to them shall pass away from them.
14 Na mwet lun God uh siyuk, “Efu kut ku mutana? Fahsru, kut kasrusr som nu ke siti potyak ku uh ac misa we. LEUM GOD lasr El wotela mu kut in misa. El ase pwasin kut in nim, mweyen kut orekma koluk lainul.
Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
15 Kut tuh finsrak in oasr misla ac in oasr imwe nu sesr, a kut pulakin sangeng lulap.
We looked for peace, but no good [came]; [and] for a time of health, and behold, trouble!
16 Mwet lokoalok lasr uh sun tari siti Dan. Kut lohng pusren tungtung lun horse natulos. Acn nukewa kusrusryak ke horse in mweun natulos apkuranme. Mwet lokoalok lasr tuku in kunausla acn sesr wi ma nukewa loac, siti sesr ac mwet nukewa su muta we.
The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they have come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.
17 Leum El fahk, “Kowos taran! Nga ac supwama wet nu inmasrlowos — wet pwasin ma tia ku in akmunayeyukla, ac wet inge ac fah ngalis kowos.”
For behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which [will] not [be] charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.
18 Asor luk tia ku in unweyukla; Insiuk maskunak.
[When] I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart [is] faint in me.
19 Porongo! Nga lohng pusren mwet luk Wowoyak sasla fin acn uh, “Ya LEUM GOD El som liki Zion? Ya tokosra lun Zion wanginla we?” Na LEUM GOD, tokosra lalos, El topuk, “Efu kowos ku akkasrkusrakyeyu ke kowos alu nu ke ma sruloala lowos Ac ke kowos pasrla nu ke god sac ma wangin sripa?”
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a distant country: [Is] not the LORD in Zion? [is] not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, [and] with strange vanities?
20 Mwet uh wowoyak ac fahk, “Pacl fol somla, ac pacl in kosrani uh safla, A soenna mouliyukla kut.”
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
21 Insiuk itungyuki Mweyen mwet luk uh itatu; Nga tung nwe mwemelil, ac arulana oela.
For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.
22 Ya wangin ono in Gilead? Ya wangin mwet ono we? Na, efu mwet luk uh ku tiana kwela?
[Is there] no balm in Gilead: [is there] no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered.
