Jeremiah 6
1 Kowos mwet Benjamin, kaing ac suk moul lowos! Kaingla liki Jerusalem! Ukya mwe ukuk in Tekoa, ac tanak sie e an in Beth Haccherem in sulkakin lah ongoiya ac kunausten akuranna tuku liki acn epang.
O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Beth-haccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
2 Siti Zion arulana oasku, tusruktu ac fah kunausyukla;
I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman].
3 tokosra uh ac fah mutangan aktuktuk we wi mwet mweun lalos. Elos ac tulokunak lohm nuknuk selos rauneak siti sac, ac kais sie selos fah aktuktuk in acn na el lungse.
The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch [their] tents against her on every side; they shall feed every one in his place.
4 Elos fah fahk, “Akola in mweuni Jerusalem! Tuyak, kut ac mweunel ke infulwen len!” Na elos sifilpa fahk, “Tari, arulana pahtlac. Fongeni pa inge.
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us! for the day departeth, for the shadows of the evening are lengthened.
5 Kut fah mweunel ofong. Kut ac kunausla pot ku lun siti uh.”
Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
6 LEUM GOD Kulana El sapkin tokosra inge in pakiya kutu sak ac elosak fohkon acn uh mwe fanyak nu fin pot Jerusalem. El fahk, “Nga fah kai siti se inge mweyen yokna akkeok we.
For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this [is] the city to be visited; she [is] wholly oppression in the midst of her.
7 Oana ke sie lufin kof oasr kof sasu loac pacl nukewa, ouinge oasr ma koluk sasu in Jerusalem pacl nukewa. Nga lohng na ke akmas ac sulallal orek in siti uh. Pwayena ma nga liye pa mas ac kinet.
As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and devastation is heard in her; before me continually [are] grief and wounds.
8 Mwet Jerusalem, lela mwe lokoalok inge in mwe akesmakye kowos. Fin tia, nga fah siskowosla. Nga ac ekulla siti lowos nu ke sie acn mwesis, sie acn ma wangin mwet muta we.”
Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
9 LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk nu sik, “Israel ac fah wanginla mwet we oana sie ima in grape su fahko nukewa kac uh kinkinla. Ke ma inge kom enenu in molelosla nukewa su kom ku in molela ke srakna oasr pacl.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thy hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.
10 Ac nga fahk, “Su ac lohngyu nga fin kaskas nu selos in akesmakyalos? Elos likkeke ac srangesr lohng kas lom. Elos isrun ma kom sap nga in fahk.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ear [is] uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is to them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 LEUM GOD, kasrkusrak lom selos firir pac in nga, ac nga koflana in sifil kutong.” Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik, “Okoala kasrkusrak luk nu fin tulik srisrik inkanek uh, ac nu fin tukeni lun mukul fusr. Ac fah utukla pac mwet payuk nukewa, wi mwet arulana matu.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with [him that is] full of days.
12 Lohm selos ac ima lalos ac mutan kialos ac fah itukyang nu sin kutu pac mwet. Nga ac kalyei mwet in facl se inge.
And their houses shall be turned to others, [with their] fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
13 Mwet nukewa, mwet fulat ac mwet srisrik, elos srike in orek mani ke inkanek kutasrik. Finne mwet palu ac mwet tol, elos kiapu pac mwet uh.
For from the least of them even to the greatest of them every one [is] given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 Elos oru oana in ma na kuretyuki pa kinet ke mwet luk uh. Elos fahk mu, ‘Ma nukewa wo na,’ sruhk ma uh tiana wo.
They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when [there is] no peace.
15 Ya elos mwekin ke elos oru ma srungayuk inge? Mo, elos tiana mwekin kutu srisrik. Elos tia pacna ngetnget in mwekin. Ke ma inge elos ac fah misa oana mwet misa tari. Pacl se nga kalyaelos uh, pa ingan saflaiyalos. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time [that] I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
16 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Tu ke inkanek sengelik uh ac liye. Siyuk lah pia inkanek ma matu ac wo emeet uh. Fahsr kac, ac kowos fah muta in misla.” Tusruktu elos fahk, “Mo, kut ac fah tia fahsr kac!”
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk in it, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [in it].
17 Na LEUM GOD El srisrngiya mwet san in porongo ke ukuk uh ac kas. Tuh elos fahk, “Kut ac tia porongo.”
Also I set watchmen over you, [saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 Ke ma inge LEUM GOD El fahk, “Porongo, kowos mutunfacl uh, ac liye ma ac sikyak nu sin mwet luk.
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what [is] among them.
19 Lohng, O faclu! Nga ac use mwe ongoiya nu sin mwet inge in kaelos ke pwapa koluk lalos nukewa, mweyen elos srunga mwe luti luk ac tia akos kas luk.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, [even] the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened to my words, nor to my law, but have rejected it.
20 Mwe mea mwe kisa keng elos use Sheba me nu yuruk, ku mwe akyuye mongo elos use yen loesla me? Nga fah tia eis mwe sang lalos, ku insewowokin mwe kisa lalos.
To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a distant country? your burnt-offerings [are] not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet to me.
21 Ke ma inge nga ac oru mwet inge in tukulkul ac ikori. Papa uh ac wen natulos ac fah misa, oayapa mwet kawuk ac mwet tulan.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.
22 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet ac fah tuku liki sie facl in acn epang. Sie mutunfacl kulana yen loesla el akola nu ke mweun.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
23 Elos sruok mwe pisr ac cutlass natulos; elos mwet sulallal ac wangin pakomuta lalos. Pusren kasrusr lun horse natulos oana pusren ngirngir lun meoa uh. Elos akola in mweun lain Jerusalem.”
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they [are] cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
24 Na mwet Jerusalem elos fahk, “Kut lohng tari pweng ingan, ac paosr munas ac atla; kut fosrngala ac keok oana sie mutan isus.
We have heard the fame of it: our hands become feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, [and] pain, as of a woman in travail.
25 Kut tia ku in som likin siti uh, ku forfor inkanek uh, mweyen mwet lokoalok lasr uh akoela mwe mweun natulos, ac mwe aksangeng lulap raunikutla yen nukewa.”
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy [and] fear [is] on every side.
26 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Nokomang nuknuk yohk eoa ac ipippip in apat uh. Kowos in arulana tung ac mwemelil oana ke wen sefanna nutuwos el misa, mweyen el su tuku in sikikowosla ac fah tuku ke pacl na sa in mweuni kowos.
O daughter of my people, gird [thee] with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, [as for] an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
27 Jeremiah, srike mwet luk uh oana ke kom ac srike osra uh, kom in konauk kuiyalos.
I have set thee [for] a tower [and] a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
28 Elos nukewa likkeke ac lainyu na. Elos keke oana osra bronze ac iron. Elos nukewa koluk. Elos forfor ac srumun kas kikiap ke mwet.
They [are] all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: [they are] brass and iron; they [are] all corrupters.
29 Funyu uh arulana folla, ac kutkut ke osra uh tiana kofelik in nasnasla. Ouinge wangin sripa in tayak e uh in aknasnasyela mwet luk, mweyen mwet koluk uh tiana som lukelos.
The bellows is burned, the lead is consumed by the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 Elos ac fah pangpang kutkut wangin sripa ma sisila, mweyen nga, LEUM GOD, siselosla.”
Reprobate silver shall [men] call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
