Jeremiah 48

Concerning Moab. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled; Kirjathaim is put to shame, it is taken; Misgab is put to shame and dismayed.
2 Oasku lun Moab wanginla. Mwet lokoalok elos sruokya acn Heshbon Ac akoo in sukela mutunfacl Moab nufon. Ac fah wanginla pusra lohngyuk in siti Madmen; Un mwet mweun ac fah mukuiyak in mweuni.
Moab's praise is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: Come, and let us cut her off from [being] a nation. Thou also, O Madmen, shalt be cut down; the sword shall pursue thee.
3 Mwet in acn Horonaim wowoyak ac fahk, “Yoklana mwe lokoalok! Yoklana mwe ongoiya!”
A voice of crying from Horonaim; wasting and great destruction!
4 “Sikiyukla acn Moab. Lohng ke tulik uh tung.
Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
5 Lohng pusren mwemelil lalos Ke elos ututyak innek nu Luhith, Ac tung in ongoiya lalos Ke elos tufokla ke innek nu Horonaim.
For by the ascent of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the descent of Horonaim is heard the anguish of the cry of destruction.
6 Elos fahk, ‘Sulaklak, kaing! Suk moul lowos! Kasrusr oana soko donkey lemnak yen mwesis!’
Flee, save your lives, and be like a shrub in the wilderness.
7 “Moab, kom filiya lulalfongi lom in ku lom ac mwe kasrup lom, Tusruktu, kom ac fah kutangyukla. Chemosh, god lom, fah utukla nu in sruoh, Wi fisrak ac mwet tol lal.
For because thou hast confided in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken, and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
8 Siti nukewa ac fah kunausyukla; Infahlfal uh ac acn tupasrpasr ac fah sikiyukla pac. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
And the waster shall come upon every city, that not a city shall escape; and the valley shall perish, and the plateau shall be destroyed: as Jehovah hath said.
9 Tulokunak sie eot in kulyuk lun acn Moab. Ac tia paht el musalla. Siti we ac fah filfilla in kulawi, Ac wangin mwet fah sifilpa muta we.” (
Give wings unto Moab, that she may flee and get away; and the cities thereof shall become a desolation, without inhabitant.
10 Selngawiyuk mwet se su tia oru orekma lun LEUM GOD ke insial nufon! Selngawiyuk mwet se su sruokya cutlass natul in tia aksororye srah!)
Cursed be he that doeth the work of Jehovah negligently, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood!
11 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Oemeet me acn Moab oanna okak — soenna utukla nu in sruoh. Moab el oana wain ma filiyuki in oan sraholu — tia mokleyuk ku okwok liki sufa nu ke sufa, pwanang emah uh, ac fohlo, tia ekla; oanna wo.
Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and hath settled on his lees; he hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste hath remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 “Tusruktu pacl se ac tuku ke nga fah supwala mwet in okoala acn Moab oana wain. Elos fah okoala nwe ke lisr, ac elos fah fukulya sufa uh nu ke ip sririk.
Therefore behold, days come, saith Jehovah, that I will send unto him pourers that shall pour him off, and shall empty his vessels, and break in pieces his flagons.
13 Na mwet Moab ac fah tia sifil lulalfongel Chemosh, god lalos, oana ke mwet Israel tuh fuhleak lulalfongi lalos kacl Bethel, sie god elos tuh lulalfongi meet.
And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.
14 “Mukul Moab, efu kowos ku fahk mu kowos mwet mweun watwen, Mwet pulaik ac fokoko ke mweun?
How do ye say, We are mighty, and men of valour for the war?
15 Moab ac siti we kunausyukla; Mukul fusr pisrla we anwuki. Nga pa tokosra, LEUM GOD Kulana, Ac nga pa fahk ma inge.
Moab is laid waste, and his cities are gone up [in smoke], and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts.
16 Mwe ongoiya lulap apkunme in sun acn Moab; Mwe keok lal uh ac sa na sikyak.
The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
17 “Tungi mutunfacl sac, kowos su muta apkuran, Kowos nukewa su etu pungal. Fahk mu, ‘Ku lun tokosrai lal musalla; Wolana ac ku lal wanginla.’
All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod!
18 Kowos su muta Dibon, Tufokme liki acn fulat suwos Ac muta fin fohk uh in kutkut uh. Mwet se ma ac kunausla Moab oasr inge, El kunausla tari pot ku we.
Come down from [thy] glory and sit in the drought, O inhabitress, daughter of Dibon; the spoiler of Moab is come up against thee, thy strongholds hath he destroyed.
19 Kowos su muta Aroer, Tu sisken inkanek uh ac soano. Siyuk selos su kaing Lah mea sikyak.
Stand by the way, and watch, inhabitress of Aroer; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth; say, What is done?
20 Na elos ac topuk, ‘Acn Moab ikori. Kowos in tungi, mweyen Moab el arulana tonongla. Sulkakinelik pe Infacl Arnon Lah Moab sikiyukla!’
Moab is put to shame; for he is broken down: howl and cry; tell it in Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.
21 “Nununku tuku tari nu fin siti inge su oan yen tupasrpasr: Holon, Jahzah, Mephaath,
And judgment is come upon the country of the plateau; upon Holon, and upon Jahzah, and upon Mephaath;
22 Dibon, Nebo, Beth Diblathaim,
and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim;
23 Kiriathaim, Bethgamul, Bethmeon,
and upon Kirjathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon;
24 Kerioth, ac Bozrah. Nununku tuku nu fin siti nukewa in acn Moab, loes ac apkuran.
and upon Kerijoth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.
25 Ku lun Moab itungyuki; kufwen mwe mweun lal kipatpatu. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith Jehovah.
26 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Oru acn Moab in sruhila, mweyen el utuk nunak lainyu. Moab el fah ipippip in woht lal sifacna, ac mwet uh ac isrunul.
Make him drunken, for he magnified himself against Jehovah; and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
27 Moab, kom esam ke kom aksruksruki mwet Israel? Kom lumahlos oana un mwet ingunyar.
For was not Israel a derision unto thee? Was he found among thieves, that as oft as thou didst speak of him, thou didst shake the head?
28 “Kowos su muta in Moab, tuyak som liki siti suwos ac muta fin fulu uh, oana wuleoa ma oru ahng lalos sisken acn oatu in eot uh.
Leave the cities, and dwell in the rocks, ye inhabitants of Moab, and be like the dove, that maketh her nest in the sides of the cave's mouth.
29 Moab el arulana inse fulat! Nga lohng luman filang, enum ac ekak lun mwet we, ac lah elos arulana nunku kaclos sifacna.
We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, — [he is] very proud; — his loftiness, and his arrogance, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
30 Nga, LEUM GOD, etu ke tungak lalos. Konkin lalos uh wanginna sripa, ac ma elos oru ac tiana oan paht.
I know his wrath, saith Jehovah; his pratings are vain: they do not as [they say].
31 Ke ma inge nga fah tungi mwet nukewa in acn Moab, oayapa ke mwet Kir Heres.
Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab: for the men of Kir-heres shall there be moaning.
32 Nga fah tungi mwet Jazer, ac nga ac tungi mwet Sibmah yohk liki. Siti Sibmah, kom oana oa in grape soko ma lah kac tupalla sun Meoa Misa, ac som pacna nwe Jazer. Tusruktu inge grape sunom ac fokinsak lom ke pacl fol uh sikiyukla.
O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with more than the weeping of Jaazer: thy shoots passed over the sea, they reached to the sea of Jaazer. The spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
33 Wanginla pusren engan ac insewowo in facl Moab, sie acn ma wo fohk we. Nga tulokinya wain in tia soror liki nien orek wain. Wanginna mwet in fut grape uh, oru wangin sasa ke engan.
And joy and gladness is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: they shall no more tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.
34 “Mwet Heshbon ac Elealeh wowoyak tung, ac pusralos ku in lohngyuk oe Jahaz. Ku in lohngyuk pac sin mwet Zoar, ac lohngyuk pac e Horonaim ac Eglath Shelishiyah. Finne infacl srisrik Nimrim, paola pac.
Because of the cry from Heshbon, unto Elaleh, unto Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar unto Horonaim, [unto] Eglath-shelishijah: for even the waters of Nimrim shall become desolations.
35 Nga fah tulokinya mwet Moab liki orek mwe kisa firir ke acn in alu lalos, ac liki orek kisa nu sin god lalos. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
And I will cause to cease in Moab, saith Jehovah, him that offereth in the high place, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
36 “Ouinge insiuk eoksra kacl Moab ac ke mwet Kir Heres, oana sie mwet su oru on in pukmas ke mwe ukuk natul, mweyen ma nukewa lalos wanginla.
Therefore my heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and my heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres; because the abundance that he hath gotten is perished.
37 Ke sripen asor lalos, elos nukewa mangsrasrala ac kalla altalos. Elos nukewa sipik paolos, ac nukum nuknuk yohk eoa.
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped; upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
38 Fin lohm nukewa Moab ac ke nien toeni nukewa, wangin ma orek sayen eoksra, mweyen nga fukulya acn Moab oana soko sufa fukulyuki ma wangin mwet enenu.
It is wholly lamentation upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the public places thereof; for I have broken Moab, like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith Jehovah.
39 Kowos in wowoyak ke tung, mweyen acn Moab fukulyuki ac akmwekinyeyuk. El kunanula ac mutunfacl nukewa raunelak israsrinkusrael. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
They howl, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! And Moab shall be a derision and a terror to all that are round about him.
40 LEUM GOD El wulela mu sie mutunfacl ac fah tuhwi nu fin Moab, oana sie eagle ma asroelik posohksok lal,
For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread forth his wings over Moab.
41 na siti ac pot ku nukewa ac fah sruoh. In len sac mwet mweun lun Moab ac fah arulana sangeng, oana sie mutan ke pacl in isus lal.
Kerijoth is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and at that day the heart of the mighty men of Moab shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
42 Moab ac sikiyuk tuh in tia sifilpa sie mutunfacl, mweyen el likkeke lainyu.
And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against Jehovah.
43 Sangeng, ac luf, ac sruhf oan soano mwet Moab. LEUM GOD pa fahk ma inge.
Fear, and the pit, and the snare shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith Jehovah.
44 Kutena mwet su srike in kaingla liki mwe aksangeng inge fah putatyang nu in luf uh, ac kutena mwet su fanyak liki luf uh, ac fah sremla ke sruhf, mweyen LEUM GOD El oakiya tari pacl in kalyei nu sin Moab.
He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon her, upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.
45 Mwet uh kaing in suk molela in acn Heshbon, siti se ma Tokosra Sihon el tuh leumi meet, tusruktu firiryak acn we. E uh esukak mangon eol ac masrol lun acn sin mwet Moab su lungsena orek mweun.
They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon powerless; for a fire hath come forth from Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and hath consumed the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the sons of tumult.
46 Pakomuta mwet Moab! Kunausyukla mwet ma alu nu sel Chemosh, ac utukla wen ac acn natulos nu in sruoh.
Woe to thee, Moab! The people of Chemosh is undone; for thy sons are taken away in captivity, and thy daughters are captives.
47 Tusruktu sie len, LEUM GOD El ac fah sifil akwoyeak acn Moab. LEUM GOD El fahk lah ma inge nukewa ac sikyak nu ke acn Moab.
But I will turn the captivity of Moab at the end of the days, saith Jehovah. Thus far is the judgement of Moab.
