< Jeremiah 47 >
1 Meet liki tokosra lun Egypt el mweuni siti Gaza, LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik ke acn Philistia.
The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before the time that Pharaoh smote Gazzah.
2 El fahk: “Liye! Kof ac fah lapak layen epang Ac asrla oana soko infacl sronoti. Ac fah afunla acn uh ac ma nukewa fac — Siti uh ac elos su muta we. Mwet uh ac fah wowoyak in sukok kasru; Mwet nukewa fin faclu fah arulana tung.
Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, waters are coming up out of the north, and they shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land, and what filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein: and the men shall cry aloud, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.
3 Elos fah lohng kusen kihmkim lun falken horse uh, Ac pusren kasrusr lun chariot, Ac erarrar lun wheel uh. Papa uh ac fah tia folokla in srukak tulik natulos, Mweyen paolos munasla ac atla siskalos.
Because of the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stud-horses, because of the rushing sound of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, fathers do not turn round to their children from their feebleness of hands;
4 Pacl in kunausla acn Philistia summa, Kain in kasru nukewa Ac fah wotla liki acn Tyre ac Sidon. Nga, LEUM GOD, fah kunausla mwet Philistia, Elos nukewa su tuku liki weacn Crete.
Because of the day that cometh to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the Lord devastateth the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphthor.
5 Asor lulap sun tari mwet Gaza, Ac mwet Ashkelon elos misla tia kas. Mwet lula Philistia elos ac mwemelil nwe ngac?
Baldness is come upon Gazzah; ruined is Ashkelon with the remnant of their valley: how long yet wilt thou cut thyself?
6 Kowos wowoyak ac fahk, “Cutlass nutin LEUM GOD! Kom ac uni mwet uh nwe ngac? Isongkomyang nu in mwe nuk lom an Ac mongla loac!’
Woe! thou sword of the Lord, how long yet wilt thou not be quiet? withdraw thyself into thy scabbard, take thee rest, and be still.
7 Tusruktu el ac mongla fuka Ke nga sang tari orekma se kunal? Nga sapkin nu sel elan mweuni Ashkelon Ac mwet su muta weacn uh.”
Yet how canst thou be quiet? When the Lord hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon, and against the sea-coast—thither hath he destined it.
