Jeremiah 18
1 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
3 Ouinge nga som nu we, ac nga liyauk mwet orek ahlu sac ke el orekma ke wheel in orekma lal.
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought his work on the wheels.
4 El fin orala sie ahlu tuh tia sun lungse lal, el ac eis kle sac ac ekulla nu ke sie pacna lumah.
And when the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 “Ya tia oasr ku luk in oru nu suwos, mwet Israel, oana ke mwet orek ahlu se ac oru ke kle lal uh? Kowos muta inpouk oana ke kle uh oan inpoun mwet orek ahlu.
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
7 Nga fin fahk ke kutu pacl mu nga ac fusak, koteya, ku kunausla kutena mutunfacl ku tokosrai,
At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy it;
8 a toko mutunfacl sac forla liki orekma koluk lal, na nga ac tila oru ma nga tuh fahkla mu nga ac oru.
if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9 Ku nga fin fahk mu nga ac musaeak ku akkeye sie mutunfacl ku tokosrai,
And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 na toko mutunfacl sac tia akosyu ac orekma koluk, na nga ac tila oru ma nga fahkla mu nga ac oru.
if it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
11 Ke ma inge, fahkang nu sin mwet Judah ac mwet Jerusalem lah nga akoo in lainulos ac kalyaelos. Fahkang elos in tui liki moul koluk lalos, ac aolla ouiya ma elos oru ingan.
Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and amend your ways and your doings.

But they say, There is no hope: for we will walk after our own devices, and we will do every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart.

Therefore thus saith the LORD: Ask ye now among the nations, who hath heard such things; the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
14 Ya nu oasr pacl wanginla snow fin acn eoteot fulat Lebanon? Ya sungan infacl oyohu we uh nu oasr pacl mihnla?
Shall the snow of Lebanon fail from the rock of the field? [or] shall the cold waters that flow down from afar be dried up?
15 Ma inge finne fahsrna wo, a mwet luk uh mulkinyula. Elos esukak mwe keng nu ke ma sruloala. Elos tukulkul ke inkanek lalos. Elos tia sifilpa fahsr ke ouiya meet ah, A elos fahsr ke inkanek ma tia akilenyuki.
For my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity; and they have caused them to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, in a way not cast up;
16 Elos orala acn se inge in sie mwe aksangeng, Ma ac srungayukla nwe tok. Elos nukewa su fahsr we ac fah arulana lut ke ma elos liye. Elos ac fah usruk sifalos ke fwefela lalos.
to make their land an astonishment, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and shake his head.
17 Nga ac fah luselik mwet luk ye mutun mwet lokoalok lalos, Oana ke kutkut uh ukukla ke eng kutulap. Nga ac fah ngetla lukelos, Ac tia kasrelos ke pacl in ongoiya nu selos.”
I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will look upon their back, and not their face, in the day of their calamity.
18 Na mwet uh fahk, “Wona in oasr ma kut oru nu sel Jeremiah! Oasr mwet tol yorosr in luti kut, ac mwet lalmwetmet in aknunakye kut, ac mwet palu in fahkak kas lun God nu sesr. Lela kut in orek loh kikiap lainul ac tia sifil lohng ma el fahk uh.”
Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
19 Na nga pre ac fahk, “LEUM GOD, lipsre pre luk, ac porongo ma mwet lokoalok luk inge fahk keik.
Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
20 Ya ma koluk uh pa molin ma wo? A liye, elos pukanak luf se nu sik nga in putatyang nu loac. Esam lah nga tuh tuku nu yurum in kwafe kaclos, ac srike in loangelos liki kasrkusrak lom.
Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember how I stood before thee to speak good for them, to turn away thy fury from them.
21 Ke ma inge, LEUM GOD, lela tulik natulos in misa ke masrinsral, ac in anwuki pac ke mweun. Lela mukul uh in misa ke mas ac mwet fusr in anwuki ke mweun. Mutan an in katinmasla, ac wangin tulik natulos.
Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword; and let their wives become childless, and widows; and let their men be slain of death, [and] their young men smitten of the sword in battle.
22 Supwala sie un mwet koluk in kunausya lohm selos ac usla koano uh ke wangin eteya selos. Oru elos in wowoyak ke tuninfong. Mwet inge pukanak sie luf nga in putatyang nu loac, ac oakiya mwe kwasrip in sruokyuwi.
Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
23 LEUM GOD, kom etu nufon pwapa lalos in uniyuwi. Nikmet nunak munas nu selos ke orekma koluk lalos, ku tulalosla liki ma sufal lalos. Siselosi nu in fohk uh ac kutangulosla. Oru ma inge nu selos in kasrkusrak lom.”
Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me; forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight: but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thou with them in the time of thine anger.
