< James 1 >
1 Ma sel James, sie mwet kulansap lun God ac lun Leum Jesus Christ: Paing mwet lun God nukewa su fahsrelik fin faclu nufon.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 Mwet lulalfongi wiuk, ke kain in mwe srike puspis sun kowos, kowos in oakla mu ma inge mwe insewowo nu suwos,
Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various temptations;
3 tuh kowos etu lah ke pacl se lulalfongi lowos kutangla fin mwe srike inge, saflaiya muteng lowos uh yokelik.
knowing that the trying of your faith worketh endurance.
4 Kowos in sruokyana muteng lowos nwe ke safla, in tia munasla, tuh kowos in suwohs ac fal in ouiya nukewa, ac wangin ma kowos sufalla kac.
But let endurance have a perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting in nothing.
5 Tusruktu kutena suwos fin enenu in akyokye lalmwetmet lal, enenu elan pre nu sin God, su ac fah sang nu sel; mweyen God El tia srowohsr a El insewowo in sang yohk nu sin mwet nukewa.
But if any one of you is wanting in wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it will be given him.
6 Ac ke pacl kowos pre, kowos enenu in lulalfongi ac in tia alolo. Elos su alolo elos oana noa in meoa su tuhyak ac eng uh pahlela.
But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he that doubteth is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.
7 Mwet ouinge in tia nunku mu elos ac eis kutena ma sin Leum.
For let not that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord,
8 Elos tafu luo in nunak lalos, ac seokak in ma nukewa.
a double-minded man as he is, unstable in all his ways.
9 Sie mwet Christian su sukasrup enenu in engan lah God El akfulatyalak,
Let the brother of low degree glory in that he is exalted;
10 ac mwet Christian se su kasrup el enenu pac in engan lah God El ac akpusiselyal. Tuh mwe kasrup lal uh ac fah wanginla oana sie ros inima uh.
but the rich, in that he is made low; because as the flower of the grass he will pass away.
11 Fulen faht uh ke ac takak ac fulokla mah inima uh, na ros kac uh ac putatla ac wanginla katoiya. In lumah sacna, mwet kasrup se ac fah mwella ke el forfor ac oru orekma lal.
For the sun rose with its burning heat, and withered the grass, and its flower fell off, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also will the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Insewowo mwet se su oaru na ke pacl srikeyuk el, tuh ke pacl se el kutangla ma upa inge, God El ac fah sang nu sel tefuro lun moul, tuh pa inge ma God El wuleang nu selos su lungse El.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to them that love him.
13 Mwet se fin srifeyuk, elan tia fahk, “Mwe sruhf se inge ma sin God me,” tuh God El tia srifeyuk ke ma koluk, ac El tia pac srife mwet uh.
Let no one when he is tempted, say, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempteth no one.
14 A mwet se el srifeyuk ke sripen lungse lal sifacna, su amakunulla nu ke ma koluk ac el sruhfla.
But each one is tempted when by his own lust he is led away and enticed;
15 Ac ke kena koluk lal kui in el, ac oswela ma koluk lulap; ac ke ma koluk inge yokelikna, ac kololla nu ke misa.
then lust, having conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin, when completed, bringeth forth death.
16 Mwet kawuk saok luk, kowos in tia kiapweyukla!
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Mwe kite wo ac fal nukewa, tuku lucng me; ma inge tuku sin God me su orala kalem nukewa inkusrao, ac su tiana ekyek pwanang lohsr uh tiana sikyak.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with whom is no change, nor shadow from turning.
18 Ke lungse lal sifacna El oswekutla ac ase moul nu sesr ke kas pwaye lal, tuh kut fah oana fahko se meet inmasrlon ma orekla lal nukewa.
Of his own will he begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.
19 Mwet kawuk saok luk, esam ma se inge! Mwet nukewa enenu in sa lohng, a tia sa in kaskas, ac tia pac sa in kasrkusrakak.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
20 Mweyen ke mwet uh kasrkusrak, elos tia ku in orala sripa suwoswos lun God.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Ke ma inge, sisla elah fohkfok nukewa ac orekma koluk nukewa. Ac kowos in akpusiselye kowos nu sin God, ac eis kas ma El oakiya insiowos, su ac ku in molikowosla.
Wherefore put off all filthiness, and excess of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 Kowos in oru oana ma kas lun God uh fahk, ac tia lohng mukena; tuh kowos fin lohng ac tia oru, kowos sifacna kiapwekowos.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 Kutena mwet su lohng na kas ac tia moulkin, el oana mwet se ma ngetang ac liye lumahl in selngun uh.
For if any one is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass;
24 Tukun el liye tari, el ac som ac sa na mulkunla lah fuka lumahl.
for he beholds himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.
25 Kutena mwet su arulana lohang nu ke ma sap wowo su aksukosokye mwet uh, ac el kwafeang in nunku na kac, ac el tia lohng mukena ac mulkunla, a el orekmakin — mwet ouinge uh God El ac fah akinsewowoye in ma el oru.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and remains there, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deed.
26 Ya oasr mwet nunku mu el akfalye oakwuk lun alu uh? El fin tia karingin lohul, ac wangin sripen alu lal ac el sifacna kiapwella.
If any one thinks that he is religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27 Alu pwaye ac nasnas ye mutun God Papa pa inge: in karinganang tulik mukaimtal ac katinmas su muta in ongoiya, ac sifacna liyaung tuh ma koluk lun faclu in tia akfohkfokye kom.
Pure religion and undefiled before God, the Father, is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep one's self unspotted from the world.
