< Isaiah 37 >

1 Ke na pacl se Tokosra Hezekiah el lohng ma elos fahk nu sel, el asor ac seya nuknuk lal, ac nokomang nuknuk yohk eoa, ac som nu in Tempul lun LEUM GOD.
And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
2 El supwalla Eliakim, mwet liyaung inkul sin tokosra; Shebna, mwet sim lun inkul fulat; ac mwet matu inmasrlon mwet tol nu yorol mwet palu Isaiah wen natul Amoz. Elos wi pac nukum nuknuk yohk eoa.
And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
3 Pa inge kas ma el sap elos in tuh fahk nu sel Isaiah: “Misenge sie len in keok. Kalyeiyuk ac akmwekinyeyuk kut. Kut oana sie mutan su akola in isus tuh arulana munas in oswela.
And they said to him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
4 Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria el supwama sie mwet kol fulat lal in tuh fahk kas in akkolukye God moul. Lela LEUM GOD lom in lohng kas in akkoluk inge, ac kaelos su fahk kas inge. Ke ma inge, pre nu sin God ke mwet lasr su painmoulla.”
It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: therefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
5 Ke Isaiah el eis kas sel Tokosra Hezekiah inge,
So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 el folokunulosla ke top se inge: “Fahkang nu sel tokosra lah LEUM GOD El fahk mu elan tia lela mwet Assyria in aksangengyal ke kas in akkoluk ma elos fahk.
And Isaiah said to them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7 LEUM GOD El ac oru Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria elan lohngak sie sramsram ma ac oru elan folokla nu in facl sel sifacna, na LEUM GOD El ac oru elan anwuki we.”
Behold, I will send a wind upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
8 Mwet kol fulat lun Assyria el lohngak lah Tokosra Fulat el som liki acn Lachish ac mweuni siti Libnah, su oan apkuran nu Lachish. Ouinge el som nu we in lolngok yorol.
So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he had departed from Lachish.
9 Kas se sun mwet Assyria lah un mwet mweun lun Egypt, ye kolyuk lun Tokosra Tirhakah lun Ethiopia, ac tuku in mweunelos. Ke Tokosra Fulat sac lohngak ma inge el supwala leta se nu sel Tokosra Hezekiah
And he heard it said concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
10 lun Judah in tuh fahk nu sel, “God se ma kom lulalfongi kac el fahk nu sum mu kom ac tia sruhu sik, tusruktu nimet kom lela kas ingan in kiapwekomla.
Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 Kom lohng tari ma kutena tokosra fulat lun Assyria elos oru nu sin mutunfacl se elos sulela in kunausla. Ya kom nunku mu kom ku in kaingla?
Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
12 Mwet matu luk somla elos kunausla siti lun Gozan, Haran, ac Rezeph, ac onela pac mwet Betheden su muta Telassar, a wangin god lalos tuh ku in molelosla.
Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?
13 Pia tokosra lun siti Hamath, Arpad, Sepharvaim, Hena, ac Ivvah?”
Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?
14 Tokosra Hezekiah el eisla leta sac sin mwet se ma use ah, ac riti. Na el som nu in Tempul, ac filiya leta sac ye mutun LEUM GOD,
And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
15 ac pre,
And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying,
16 “O LEUM GOD Kulana, God lun Israel, su muta lucng liki cherub luo, kom mukena pa God su leumi tokosrai nukewa fin faclu. Kom orala kusrao ac faclu.
O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
17 Inge, LEUM GOD, lohng kut ac liye ma sikyak nu sesr. Porongo ma nukewa ma Sennacherib el fahk in akkolukye kom, God moul.
Incline thy ear, O LORD, and hear; open thy eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent to reproach the living God.
18 O LEUM GOD, kut nukewa etu lah tokosra fulat lun acn Assyria elos tuh kunausla mutunfacl puspis, sukela acn selos,
Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
19 ac esukak god lalos — su tia god pwaye, a ma sruloala ma poun mwet taflela ke eot ac sak.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
20 Ke ma inge, LEUM GOD lasr, molikutla liki poun mwet Assyria, tuh mutunfacl nukewa fin faclu fah etu lah kom mukena pa God.”
Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.
21 Na Isaiah el supwala kas nu sel Tokosra Hezekiah in fahk lah lohngyuk pre lal kacl Sennacherib, tokosra lun Assyria,
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Though thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
22 ac LEUM GOD El fahk ouinge, “Siti Jerusalem isrun kom, Sennacherib, ac orek tafunkas keim.
This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and mocked thee; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
23 Su kom nunku mu kom kaskou nu se, ku akkolukye uh? Kom arulana akpusiselyeyu, God Mutal lun Israel!
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted thy eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
24 Kom supwama mwet tafweyom in tungak nu sik mu chariot puspis nutum oru kom fanukya fineol ma fulat liki nukewa in acn Lebanon. Kom konkin pac mu kom pakiya sak cedar ma fulat emeet ac sak cypress ma wo emeet we, ac kom som loallana nu insak uh.
By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots have I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, and its choice fir trees: and I will enter into the height of its border, and the forest of his Carmel.
25 Kom konkin pac mu kom pukanak lufin kof in acn sin mwetsac ac nim kof kac, oayapa falken mwet mweun lom lolongya Infacl Nile pulamlamla.
I have dug, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
26 “Ya kom soenna lohng lah nga nuna akoo ma inge ke pacl loeloes somla? Ac inge nga orala tari. Nga pa sot nu sum ku in ekulla siti potyak nu ke yol in kutkut.
Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
27 Mwet ma muta in acn ingo wangin ma elos ku in oru; elos sangeng ac fohsak. Elos oana mah inimae, ku mah ma kapak fin lohm uh ke pacl eng fol kutulap me tuhyak ac okla.
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as grain blighted before it is grown up.
28 “Tusruktu nga etu ma nukewa keim, ma kom oru ac yen kom ac som nu we. Nga etu lupan mongsa lom lainyu.
But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
29 Nga lohng tari pungen kasrkusrak lom ac inse fulat lom, ac inge nga ac sang sie ring srumasrla infwem ac soko osra nu inwalum, ac amakin kom folokla ke innek soko na kom tuku kac.”
Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
30 Na Isaiah el fahk nu sel Tokosra Hezekiah, “Pa inge sie akul ke ma ac fah sikyak. Yac se inge ac yac fahsru uh kom ac fah mongo wheat inima mukena, tusruktu ke yac se toko an kom ac fah ku in yukwiya wheat sunom ac kosrani pac kac, ac yukwiya oa in grape ac mongo grape kac.
And this shall be a sign to thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
31 Elos su painmoulla in acn Judah elos ac kapak oana sak ma okah kac kapla loal nu infohk uh ac rukruk fahko.
And the remnant that hath escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
32 Ac fah oasr mwet in Jerusalem ac fin Eol Zion su ac fah painmoulla, mweyen LEUM GOD Kulana El wotela tari sel mu ac ouinge.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape from mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
33 “Ac pa inge ma LEUM GOD El fahk ke Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria: ‘El ac fah tia utyak nu in siti se inge ku pisrikya sokofanna osra in pisr natul nu kac. Wangin mwet mweun su us mwe loeyuk ac fah tuku apkuran nu ke siti uh, oayapa ac fah wangin ma ac etoatyak elos in fanyak kac nu in siti uh.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a mount against it.
34 El ac fah folokla ke inkanek soko na el tuku kac, ac tia utyak nu in siti se inge. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
35 Nga fah loango siti se inge ac liyaung ke sripen Inek sifacna, ac ke sripen wuleang su nga tuh orala nu sel David, mwet kulansap luk.’”
For I will defend this city to save it for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
36 Sie lipufan lun LEUM GOD som nu nien aktuktuk lun mwet mweun Assyria ac onela mwet mweun tausin siofok oalngoul limekosr. Toangna in len tok ah elos nukewa alapelik misa!
Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred and eighty and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead bodies.
37 Na Sennacherib, Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria, el tila mweun a el folokla nu Nineveh, yen sel.
So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
38 Sie len ah ke el alu in tempul lun Nisroch, god lal, luo sin wen natul ah, Adrammelech ac Sharezer, unilya ke cutlass natultal, ac kaingla nu in facl Ararat. Esarhaddon, sie pac sin wen natul, el aolulla in tokosra fulat.
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
