< Isaiah 10 >
1 We nu suwos! Kowos orek ma sap sesuwos ma akkeokye mwet luk.
Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees
2 Ke kowos oru ouinge kowos kosrala mwet sukasrup liki suwohs lalos ac liki nununku suwos nu selos, oayapa kowos eisla ma lun katinmas ac tulik mukaimtal.
to deprive the needy of justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3 Mea kowos ac oru ke God El ac kai kowos— Mea kowos ac oru ke El ac use mwe ongoiya nu fowos liki sie facl loessula — Kowos ac kasrusr in suk kasru sin su — Kowos ac okanla mwe kasrup lowos uh oya?
What will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth?
4 Ac fah anwuki kowos in mweun, ku amala kowos oana mwet kapir. Ne ouinge kasrkusrak lun LEUM GOD fah tia safla. El srakna asroela paol in kalyei.
They will only bow down under the prisoners, and will fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
5 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Assyria! Nga orekmakin Assyria oana sak in anwuk soko in kaelos su nga kasrkusrak se.
Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!
6 Nga supwala Assyria in mweun nu sin sie mutunfacl ma wangin god la, su mwet we uh akkasrkusrakyeyu. Nga supwalos in pisre, wapi, ac lolongya mwet uh oana fohk inkanek uh.”
I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7 Tusruktu oasr ako yohk lun tokosra fulat lun Assyria sifacna, in kunausla mutunfacl puspis.
However, he doesn’t mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off not a few nations.
8 El konkin ac fahk, “Mwet kol fulat luk nukewa ke mweun elos tokosra!
For he says, “Aren’t all of my princes kings?
9 Nga kutangla siti lun Calno ac Carchemish, siti lun Hamath ac Arpad. Nga kutangla Samaria ac Damascus.
Isn’t Calno like Carchemish? Isn’t Hamath like Arpad? Isn’t Samaria like Damascus?”
10 Nga asroela pouk in kai tokosrai ma alu nu ke ma sruloala — ma sruloala ingan pus liki ma oasr Jerusalem ac Samaria.
As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, whose engraved images exceeded those of Jerusalem and of Samaria,
11 Nga kunausla tari acn Samaria ac ma sruloala nukewa we, ac nga ac oru oapana nu Jerusalem.”
shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
12 Tusruktu LEUM GOD El fahk, “Ke nga ac aksafyela ma nga oru fin Eol Zion ac Jerusalem, nga ac kalyei tokosra fulat lun Assyria ke sripen kas in konkin nukewa lal ac inse fulat lal.”
Therefore it will happen that when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Assyria, and the insolence of his arrogant looks.
13 Tokosra fulat lun Assyria el konkin ac fahk, “Nga oru ma inge nukewa ke ku ac lalmwetmet ac pah luk sifacna. Nga kunausla masrol lun mutunfacl puspis, ac eisla ma saok ma elos elosak. Nga lolongya mwet uh oana cow mukul soko.
For he has said, “By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding. I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures. Like a valiant man I have brought down their rulers.
14 Mutunfacl uh nufon oana ahng lun won, ac nga orani mwe kasrup lalos arulana fisrasr, oana ke sie mwet orani atro uh. Tia sie posohksok pikpikyak in ukweyuyak; wangin oalin won mangelik in aksangengyeyu!”
My hand has found the riches of the peoples like a nest, and like one gathers eggs that are abandoned, I have gathered all the earth. There was no one who moved their wing, or that opened their mouth, or chirped.”
15 Na LEUM GOD El fahk, “Ya soko tuhla ku in fahk mu el ku liki mwet se ma orekmakin uh — Ya sie tahta yohk sripa liki mwet se ma tahtakin uh — Soko sak in sringsring tia ku in srukak mwet se; a mwet se pa ac srukak sak in sringsring soko uh.”
Should an ax brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.
16 LEUM GOD Kulana El ac supwama mas in kaelos su kihp ke mwe mongo yuyu. Sie e ac fah firir na firir in manolos.
Therefore the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory a burning will be kindled like the burning of fire.
17 God, su kalem lun Israel, fah oana sie e. God mutal lun Israel El fah ekla nu ke kosran e ma ac fah esukak kokul ac sak nukewa ma oasr otoh kac ke len sefanna.
The light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.
18 Insak lulap oayapa acn in ima wolana ac fah arulana sikiyukla, oana ke mas upa ac akmunasyela sie mwet nwe ke el misa.
He will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, both soul and body. It will be as when a standard bearer faints.
19 Ac fah arulana supuseni sak, oru sie tulik srisrik ku in oakla nufon.
The remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child could write their number.
20 Pacl se ac fah tuku ke mwet Israel su painmoulla ac fah tia sifil lulalfongi mutunfacl se ma apkuran in kunauselosla. Elos ac fah filiya lulalfongi na pwaye lalos in LEUM GOD, God mutal lun Israel.
It will come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel, and those who have escaped from the house of Jacob will no more again lean on him who struck them, but shall lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 Mwet pu sin mwet Israel fah foloko nu yurin God Kulana lalos.
A remnant will return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
22 Finne arulana pukanten mwet Israel in pacl inge, oana puk wekof uh, a mwet na pu selos fah foloko. Ongoiya lulap lemla nu sin mwet uh, fal nu ke orekma lalos.
For though your people, Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
23 Aok, LEUM GOD Fulat ac Kulana El fah use mwe ongoiya lulap nu fin facl sac nufon, oana ke El fahk mu El ac oru.
For the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will make a full end, and that determined, throughout all the earth.
24 LEUM GOD Fulat ac Kulana El fahk nu sin mwet lal su muta Zion, “Nimet sangeng sin mwet Assyria, elos finne akkeokye kowos oana ke mwet Egypt tuh oru.
Therefore the Lord, GOD of Hosts, says, “My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.
25 In kitin pacl na nga ac aksafye kaiyuk luk nu suwos, na nga fah kunauselosla.
For yet a very little while, and the indignation against you will be accomplished, and my anger will be directed to his destruction.”
26 Nga, LEUM GOD Kulana, fah srunglulos ke mwe sringsring luk oana ke nga tuh oru nu sin mwet Midian sisken Eot lal Oreb. Nga fah kai mwet Assyria oana nga tuh kolak sikal luk fin meoa ac kai mwet Egypt.
The LORD of Hosts will stir up a scourge against him, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. His rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up like he did against Egypt.
27 In pacl sacn, nga ac tulekowosla liki ku lun mwet Assyria, ac srenenu lalos ac fah tia sifilpa toasr nu finpisowos.”
It will happen in that day that his burden will depart from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
28 Mwet lokoalok elos eisla siti lun Ai. Elos utyak sasla Migron! Elos filiya ap lalos Michmash!
He has come to Aiath. He has passed through Migron. At Michmash he stores his baggage.
29 Elos alukela tari inkanek oasriksrik inmasrlon eol uh ac motulla Geba! Mwet in siti Ramah elos arulana sangeng, ac mwet in acn Gebeah, siti sel Tokosra Saul, elos kaingla.
They have gone over the pass. They have taken up their lodging at Geba. Ramah trembles. Gibeah of Saul has fled.
30 Mwet Gallim, kowos sasa! Mwet Laishah, kowos in lohng! Mwet Anathoth, kowos in topokla!
Cry aloud with your voice, daughter of Gallim! Listen, Laishah! You poor Anathoth!
31 Mwet Madmenah ac mwet Gebim elos kaing in suk moul lalos.
Madmenah is a fugitive. The inhabitants of Gebim flee for safety.
32 Misenge mwet lokoalok elos sun siti Nob. Elos kolak paolos ac fisik nu ke Eol Zion, ac nu ke siti Jerusalem.
This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33 LEUM GOD Kulana El ac fah siselosi nu in fohk uh oana lesak pakpukla liki sak na fulat. Mwet ma filang ac inse fulat selos ac fah pakpuki ac akpusiselyeyuk.
Behold, the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will lop the boughs with terror. The tall will be cut down, and the lofty will be brought low.
34 LEUM GOD El ac sukelosla, oana sak ma oan infulwen insak uh ke ac pakpuki ke tuhla, oana ke sak na wowo Lebanon ac ikriyuki!
He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.
