< Hosea 5 >
1 “Kowos mwet tol, lohng ma inge. Mwet Israel, kowos in lohang akwoye. Kowos mwet ke sou lun tokosra, porongo. Kowos enenu in orekmakin nununku suwohs — ke ma inge ac fah nununkeyuk kowos. Kowos oana sie sruhf in acn Mizpah, oana sie nwek elakelik Fineol Tabor,
“Hear this, priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, house of the king! For judgment is coming against you all. You have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor.
2 oana sie luf na loal in Siti Acacia, ac nga fah kai kowos nukewa.
The rebels stand deep in slaughter, but I will punish all of them.
3 Nga arulana etu ouiya lun mwet Israel — elos tia ku in wikla likiyu. Tiana pwaye insialos nu sik. Elos arulana fohkfokla, ac tia fal in alu nu sik.”
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me. Ephraim, now you have become like a prostitute; Israel is defiled.
4 Ma koluk ma mwet uh oru pa ikololosi in tia folokla nu yurin God lalos. Lungse lalos in alu nu ke ma sruloala sruokolosi ku, pwanang elos tia akilen LEUM GOD.
Their deeds will not allow them to turn to God, for the mind of adultery is in them, and they do not know Yahweh.
5 Filang lun mwet Israel folokyang lainulos. Ma koluk lalos oru elos tukulkul ac ikori, ac mwet Judah welulos ikori.
The pride of Israel testifies against him; so Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their guilt; and Judah also will stumble with them.
6 Elos us sheep ac cow natulos in kisakin nu sin LEUM GOD, a wangin sripa. Elos koflana konalak, mweyen El ngetla lukelos.
They will go with their flocks and herds to seek Yahweh, but they will not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them.
7 Elos tia pwaye nu sin LEUM GOD; tulik natulos tia ma natul. Ke ma inge elos, ac acn selos, ac fah sa na kunausyukla.
They were unfaithful to Yahweh, for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon festivals will devour them with their fields.
8 Ukya mwe ukuk lun mweun in acn Gibeah! Sulkakin kusen mweun in acn Ramah! Akyokye pusren sasa lun mweun in acn Bethaven! Mwet Benjamin, kowos in fahsrot nu ke mweun!
Blow the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound a battle cry at Beth Aven: 'We will follow you, Benjamin!'
9 Len in kai ac fah tuku, na Israel ac fah sikiyukla. Mwet Israel, nga fahk na pwaye lah ma inge ac sikyak!
Ephraim will become a desolation on the day of punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I have declared what is certain to happen.
10 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Nga kasrkusrak, mweyen mwet kol lun Judah elos moklela masrol in acn Israel ac pisrala acn selos. Ke ma inge nga fah okoala kasrkusrak luk nu faclos oana sie sronot.
The leaders of Judah are like those who move a boundary stone. I will pour my wrath on them like water.
11 Israel el muta ye keok upa. Acn sel na pwaye itukla lukel, mweyen el ngosrngosrlana in sukok kasru selos su tia ku in sang kasru nu sel.
Ephraim is crushed; he is crushed in judgment, because he has willingly walked after idols.
12 Nga fah oana ulac uh nu sin Israel, ac nga fah oana ma kulam nu sin Judah.
So I will be like a moth to Ephraim, and like rot to the house of Judah.
13 “Ke Israel el tuh liye lah el arulana mas, ac ke Judah el liye kinet kacl sifacna, na Israel el som nu Assyria in siyuk kasru sin tokosra fulat we, tuh tokosra sac el tia ku in akkeyalosla ku unwela kinet kaclos.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and Judah sent messengers to the great king. But he was not able to cure you people or heal your wound.
14 Nga fah atuyang ac lain mwet Israel ac Judah oana soko lion. Nga fah saclosi nu ke ip srisrik ac siselosla. Ke nga ac amakunulosla, wangin mwet ku in molelosla.
So I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry them off, and there will be no one to rescue them.
15 “Nga fah som liki mwet luk nwe ke elos keok fal nu ke ma koluk lalos, ac tuku sukyu. Sahp in keok lalos elos ac srike in koneyuyak.”
I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, until they earnestly seek me in their distress.”
