< Hosea 10 >
1 Mwet Israel elos oana ima in grape ma nwanala ke grape. Ke ma wo nu selos yokyokelik, na puseni loang elos musai uh. Ac ke fokin acn selos uh arulana kapak wo, na elos arulana akkatoye sru eot ma elos tulokunak in alu nu kac.
An emptied vine is Israel; how should he bring forth fruit for himself? the more numerous was his fruit the more he increased the altars; the more prosperous was his land, the more they made goodly statues.
2 Mwet kutasrik nunak la fah keokkin ma koluk lalos. God El ac kunausla loang lalos ac koteya sru in alyalu lalos.
Their heart is divided; now shall they bear their guilt: this will break down their altars, will devastate their statues.
3 Mwet inge ac sa na in fahk, “Wangin tokosra lasr mweyen kut tia sangeng sin LEUM GOD. Ac mwe meawin tokosra uh nu sesr?”
For now will they say, We have no king; because we fear not the Lord: and the king—what can he do for us?
4 Elos kaskas lusrongten, ac orek wulela kikiap, ac pwapa lalos wangin sripa. Nununku suwohs uh ekla sesuwos, ac yokyokelik oana mah pwasin in sie acn ma akoeyukla in yok.
They have spoken [vain] words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: therefore springeth up the punishment as poison in the furrows of the field.
5 Mwet su muta in siti Samaria ac fah sangeng ac tung ke wanginla lun cow mukul gold Bethel. Elos ac mwet tol su kulansupu ma sruloala sac, fah mwemelil kac. Elos ac tungi ke mwe yun gold uh wanginla liki uh.
For the calves of Beth-aven are terrified the inhabitants of Samaria: yea, the people thereof mourn over them, and also its false priests that [before] rejoiced over them, for its glory, because it is departed from it.
6 Ma sruloala sac fah utukla nu Assyria tuh in mwe takma nu sin tokosra fulat we. Ac fah pilesreyuk mwet Israel, ac elos fah arulana mwekin ke sripen kas in kasru ma elos ukwala.
Also this shall be carried unto Assyria for a present to the contentious king: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed because of his own counsel.
7 Tokosra lalos ac fah utukla oana sie lesak pahtpat fin kof uh.
As for Samaria, her king shall vanish like the foam upon the surface of the water.
8 Acn in alyalu ke inging in acn Aven, yen mwet Israel alu nu sin ma sruloala we, ac fah kunausyukla. Mah ac kokul ac fah kupoiya loang lalos we. Mwet uh ac fah wowoyak nu fineol uh ac fahk, “Wikinkutla!” ac nu fin tohktok uh, “Afinkutla!”
And destroyed shall be the high-places of Aven, [the cause of] the sin of Israel; the thorn and the thistle shall grow upon their altars: and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall upon us.
9 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Tukunna pacl mwet Israel elos orekma koluk in acn Gibeah me nwe inge, elos soenna tui in orekma koluk lainyu. Ke ma inge mweun ac fah sonolos pac in acn Gibeah.
More than in the days of Gib'ah hast thou sinned, O Israel! there they stood; and the battle in Gib'ah against the children of wickedness did not overtake them.
10 Nga ac anwuk nu sin mwet koluk inge ac kalyaelos. Mutunfacl uh ac fah toeni lainulos, ac elos ac fah kaiyuk ke ma koluk puspis lalos.
[But now] after my desire will I chastise them: and the people shall be gathered against them, when they harness them [for labor] in their two furrows.
11 “Sie pacl ah, Israel el tuh oana soko cow fusr ma akpahyeyuk wo, su lungsena futfut wheat. Tusruktu, nga sulela tari sik in likiya soko mwe utuk nu fin kwawa oasku lal, ac sang sucl in kifusul nu ke orekma upa. Nga oru Judah elan amakin mwe pukpuk, ac Israel amakin mwe kuhlkul.
And Ephraim is as a well-taught heifer that loveth to tread out the corn; and I passed over her fair neck: now will I make Ephraim draw the wagon, Judah shall plough, and Jacob shall harrow the field for the enemy.
12 Na nga fahk, ‘Pukanak infohk sasu nu suwos sifacna, yukwiya suwoswos, ac kosrani mwe insewowo su tuku ke oaru lowos in alu nu sik. Pacl fal lowos in forma nu sik, ac nga LEUM GOD lowos fah tuku ac okoaot mwe insewowo nu fowos.’
Sow then for yourselves after righteousness, that you may reap [the fruit] of kindness; cultivate your fallow field; for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness down for you.
13 Kowos tia oru ouinge, a kowos taknelik ma koluk ac kosrani fahko kac. Kowos kang fahko ke kas kikiap lowos. “Mweyen kowos lulalfongi ke chariot nutuwos, ac pusiyen solse lowos,
[But] ye have ploughed wickedness, iniquity have ye reaped, ye have eaten the fruit of lies; because thou didst trust in thy own way, in the multitude of thy mighty men:
14 mweun ac fah tuku nu yurin mwet lowos, ac pot ku lowos nukewa ac fah kunausyukla. Ac fah oana len lal Tokosra Shalman ke el kunausla siti lun Betharbel ke mweun uh, ac nina ac tulik natulos itungyuki misa.
Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be wasted, as Shalman devastated Beth-arbel on the day of battle, [when] the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.
15 Pa inge ma ac sikyak nu suwos, mwet Bethel, ke sripen ma koluk yoklana lowos. Pacl se na mweun ac mutawauk uh, tokosra lun Israel ac fah misa.”
The like of this doth Beth-el procure unto you because of your great wickedness: in the early morning shall utterly pass away the king of Israel.
