In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk nu sel Haggai, “Mwet inge fahk mu tia pacl fal se pa inge in sifilpa musai Tempul.”
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
3 Na LEUM GOD El fahk kas inge nu sin mwet uh sel mwet palu Haggai:
Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 “Mwet luk, efu ku kowos muta in lohm ma musaiyukla arulana wo, a Tempul luk musallana oan?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your panelled houses, and this house lie waste?
5 Ku kowos tiana akilen ma sikyak nu suwos uh?
Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
6 Kowos yukwiya fita na pukanten, a ma kowos kosrani uh arulana pu. Oasr mwe mongo nowos, a kowos tia ku in kihpi kac. Oasr wain kowos in nim, a kowos tia muti kac! Oasr nuknuk lowos, tuh tia ku in akfusrfusrye kowos. Ac mwet orekma uh, molol tia fal in sang enenu lal.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe yourselves, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Kowos tiana akilen lah efu ku sikyak ouinge?
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
8 Kowos utyak inge nu fineol uh, pakema kutu sak, ac sifil musaela Tempul, na nga fah insewowo, ac kowos fah alu nu sik we.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
9 “Kowos finsrak nu ke kosrani yohk, a ma kowos kosrani uh arulana srik. Ac ke kowos use ma kowos kosrani nu lohm suwos, nga okla wanginla. Efu ku nga oru ouinge? Mweyen Tempul luk oanna musalla, a kais sie suwos kafofona in orekma ke lohm sel sifacna.
Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that is waste, and ye run every man to his own house.
10 Pa inge sripen wangin af, ac wangin ma ku in kapak uh.
Therefore the heavens over you withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth her fruit.
11 Nga use tuka nu fin acn uh — aok nu fin inging uh, ac inima in wheat, inima in grape, inima in sak olive, ac nu fin fohk nukewa su oswe fokin ima uh, oayapa nu fin mwet ac ma orakrak, ac nu fin ma nukewa kowos srike in yukwiya.”
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
12 Na Zerubbabel ac Joshua ac mwet nukewa su foloko liki sruoh in Babylonia elos oru ma LEUM GOD lalos El fahk nu selos in oru. Elos tuh sangeng sin LEUM GOD, oru elos akos na ma Haggai, mwet palu su mwet kulansap lun LEUM GOD, el fahk.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
13 Na Haggai el sang kas lun LEUM GOD inge nu sin mwet uh: “Nga ac fah wi kowos — pa inge wulela luk.”
Then spoke Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message to the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.

And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
