Habakkuk 2
1 Nga ac fanyak nu fin tower in soan luk, ac tupan lah mea LEUM GOD El ac sap nga in fahk, ac top fuka El ac oru nu ke torkaskas luk.
I will stand upon my watch, and mount upon the rock, and watch to see what he will say by me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 Pa inge top ma LEUM GOD El ase nu sik. El fahk, “Simusla ma nga ac akkalemye nu sum inge fin eot kle in arulana kalem, mwet uh in mau ku in ngetang na liye ac kalem kac.
And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and [that] plainly on a tablet, that he that reads it may run.
3 Simusla ma inge mweyen soenna pacl in sikyak. Tusruktu in pacl na sa, ma nga akkalemye nu sum uh ac fah akpwayeiyuk. Sahp ac nunkeyuk mu ac paht in tuku, tusruktu soano na. Pwayena lah ac sikyak — ac fah tia kohtla nwe tok.
For the vision [is] yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should wait, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not wait.
4 Pa inge kas sac: ‘Elos su koluk elos ac tia painmoulla, a elos su suwosna fah moul mweyen elos inse pwaye nu sin God.’”
If he should draw back, my soul has no pleasure in him: but the just shall live by my faith.
5 Kasrup uh kiapwekutla. Mwet rapku uh elos orek funmwet ac koflana okaki — elos oana fulan misa, tia ku in muti. Pa sis elos srike in mweun ac eisla mutunfacl puspis nu selos sifacna. (Sheol h7585)
But the arrogant man and the scorner, the boastful man, shall not finish anything; who has enlarged his desire as the grave, and like death he is never satisfied, and he will gather to himself all the nations, and will receive to himself all the peoples. (Sheol h7585)
6 Mwet sruoh uh ac fah israsrinkusrai mwet ma sruokolosi, ac akkalemye sulung lalos ac fahk, “Kowos eis ma su tia ma lowos; tusruktu ac kunausyukla kowos! Kowos ac oru ange nwe ngac, in eis kasrpowos ke funmwet selos su srakna akfalye soemoul la nu suwos?”
Shall not all these take up a parable against him? and a proverb to tell against him? and they shall say, Woe to him that multiplies to himself the possessions which are not his! how long? and who heavily loads his yoke.
7 Tusruktu ac tiana paht, kowos su sruokya mwet saya ac fah oasr pac soemoul lowos, na ac fah oasr sap ku nu suwos in akfalye soemoul lowos wi ma laesla. Mwet lokoalok fah tuku ac oru kowos in rarrar ke sangeng. Elos ac fah utyak nu in acn suwos ac eisla ma nukewa lowos!
For suddenly there shall arise up those that bite him, and they that plot against you shall awake, and you shall be a plunder to them.
8 Kowos muta eis ma lun mwet fin mutunfacl puspis, na inge elos su painmoulla fah eisla ma lowos ke sripen akmas ac lokoalok kowos oru nu sin mwet faclu ac siti selos.
Because you have spoiled many nations, all the nations that are left shall spoil [you], because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.
9 We nu suwos! Kowos akkasrupye sou lowos sifacna ke ma kowos eisla ke funmwet, ac srike in oakiya lohm suwos yen wangin mwe lokoalok fah sun!
Woe to him that covets an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evils.
10 A inkanek koluk lowos an akmwekinye sou lowos. Ke kowos kunausla mutunfacl puspis, kowos pwanma ongoiya nu fowos sifacna.
You have devised shame to your house, you have utterly destroyed many nations, and your soul has sinned.
11 Finne eot ke kalkal uh elos wowoyak pac lain kowos, ac loaloa in lohm uh etai pusren wowo lun eot uh.
For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beetle out of the timber shall speak.
12 We nu suwos! Kowos oakiya sie siti fin ma koluk, ac musaela ke akmas.
Woe to him that builds a city with blood, and establishes a city by unrighteousness.
13 Mwet in acn ma kowos kutangla elos kemkatu ke wangin mweyen ma nukewa elos musaela firiryak. LEUM GOD Kulana pa oru ma inge.
Are not these things of the Lord Almighty? surely many people have been exhausted in the fire, and many nations have fainted.
14 Tusruktu faclu ac fah arulana sessesla ke eteyen wolana lun LEUM GOD oana ke meoa uh sessesla ke kof.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord; it shall cover them as water.
15 We nu suwos! Kowos akpusiselye ac aklusrongtenye mwet tulan lowos in kasrkusrak lowos, ac kowos oru elos tukulkul oana elos in sruhi.
Woe to him that gives his neighbor to drink the thick lees [of wine], and intoxicates [him], that he may look upon their secret parts.
16 Ke ma inge, kowos ac fah apinyukla ke mwekin ac tia ke akfulat. Kowos sifacna ac fah nimnim ac tukulkul. LEUM GOD El ac fah oru tuh kowos in nim ke cup in kalyei lowos sifacna, na akfulat nu suwos ac fah ekla nu ke akmwekin.
Drink you also [your] fill of disgrace instead of glory: shake, O heart, and quake, the cup of the right hand of the Lord has come round upon you, and dishonor has gathered upon your glory.
17 Kowos tuh pakiya insak in Lebanon; inge ac fah pakpuki kowos. Kowos onela kosro in acn we; inge kosro ac fah aklangingye kowos. Ma inge ac sikyak ke sripen akmas ma kowos tuh oru, ac ke sripen lokoalok yohk lowos lain mwet faclu ac siti lalos.
For the ungodliness of Libanus shall cover you, and distress because of wild beasts shall dismay you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.
18 Mea, oasr sripen ma sruloala uh? Ma sruloala se ma na orekla ke poun mwet, ac wangin ma el ku in fahk. Mea wo el ac oru nu sin mwet ma oralla uh ku elos in lulalfongel — god na tia ku in kaskas se pa el.
What profit it the graven image, that they have graven it? [one] has made it a molten work, a false image; for the maker has trusted in his work, to make dumb idols.
19 We nu suwos! Kowos fahk nu sin sie polosak, “Tukakek!” ku nu sin sie eot, “Tuyak!” Ya sie ma sruloala ku in akkalemye kutena ma? Finne mosrweyukla manol ke silver ac gold, tusruktu wangin moul in el.
Woe to him that says to the wood, Awake, arise; and to the stone, Be you exalted! whereas it is an image, and this is a casting of gold and silver, and there is no breath in it.
20 LEUM GOD El oasr in Tempul mutal lal; lela mwet e nukewa fin faclu in misla ye mutal.
But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth fear before him.
