< Ezekiel 17 >

1 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 “Kom, mwet sukawil moul la, fahkang nu sin mwet Israel sie pupulyuk,
Son of man, relate a tale, and speak a parable to the house of Israel:
3 tuh elos in etu ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk nu selos: Oasr sie eagle na lulap su arulana kato unac kac, ac posohksok lal yohk ac sralap. El sohkla nu fineol in acn Lebanon ac kotala fien sak cedar soko.
and you shall say, Thus says the Lord; A great eagle with large wings, spreading them out very far, with many claws, which has the design of entering into Libanus—and he took the choice [branches] of the cedar:
4 Na el usla nu ke sie facl in kuka, ac likiya lah sac in sie siti sin mwet kuka.
he cropped off the ends of the tender twigs, and brought them into the land of Chanaan; he laid them up in a walled city.
5 Na el eis soko sacn fusr liki facl Israel ac usla yukwiya ke sie ima wo fohk we, yen yohk kof we ma ac akoyohuye sacn uh in kap wo.
And he took of the seed of the land, and sowed it in a field planted by much water; he set it in a conspicuous place.
6 Sacn soko ah srunak, na ke lahelik el soko fain grape ma fototo ac sralap. Lah kac uh kapak ku nu lucng, sukya acn se eagle sac muta we, ac okah kac uh kapla loal nu infohk uh, ac sropoh uh afla ke lah ac sra.
And it sprang up, and became a weak and little vine, so that the branches thereof appeared [upon] it, and its roots were under it: and it became a vine, and put forth shoots, and sent forth its tendrils.
7 “Oasr pac sie eagle na lulap su posohksok la sralap ac unac kac matol. Na okah ac sra ke fain soko ah kapla ac oanla nu yen eagle sac muta we, finsrakkin mu in eis kutu pac kof sin eagle sac sayen kof ma oasr tari inima se el kapak we ah.
And there was another great eagle, with great wings and many claws: and, behold, this vine bent itself round toward him, and her roots [were turned] towards him, and she sent forth her branches towards him, that [he] might water her together with the growth of her plantation.
8 Tusruktu fain soko ah yoki tari in sie acn wo fohk we ac yohk kof we, su oru sra kac uh in kapak ac grape uh in fokla pus, na orala soko fain na wowo.
She thrives in a fair field by much water, to produce shoots and bear fruit, that she might become a great vine.
9 “Ouinge nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, siyuk: Ya fain soko inge ac kapak ac moul na? Ya eagle se meet ah ac tia fusak, olela grape kac uh, ac kotala lah kac, in masla? Tia enenu in oasr ku lulap, ku un mwet mweun pus in fusak.
Therefore say, Thus says the Lord; Shall it prosper? shall not the roots of her tender stem and her fruit be blighted? yes, all her early shoots shall be dried up, and [that] not by a mighty arm, nor by many people, to tear her up from her roots.
10 Aok, pwaye lah fain soko ah yoki, tusruk ya ac ku in kapak? Ya ac tia masla ke eng kutulap me ac tuhme ac fungulya? Ya ac tia masla na acn kapak we uh?”
And, behold, it thrives: shall it prosper? shall it not wither as soon as the east wind touches it? it shall be withered together with the growth of its shoots.
11 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
Moreover the word of the Lord came to me saying,
12 “Siyuk sin mwet alein inge lah elos etu kalmen pupulyuk sac. Fahkang nu selos lah tokosra lun acn Babylonia el tuku nwe Jerusalem ac usla tokosra lun Judah wi mwet pwapa fulat lal welul folokla nu Babylonia.
Son of man, say now to the provoking house, Know you not what these things were? say [to them], Whenever the king of Babylon shall come against Jerusalem, then he shall take her king and her princes, and shall take them home to Babylon.
13 Na el eis sie sin sou lun tokosra lun Judah ac oakiya sie wulela inmasrloltal, ac oru elan fulahk tuh el ac pwaye na nu sel. Na el kapriya pac kutu mwet fulat
And he shall take of the seed royal, and shall make a covenant with him, and shall bind him with an oath: and he shall take the princes of the land:
14 in oru tuh mutunfacl sac in tia sifil tuyak ac lainul, oayapa tuh wuleang sac in tia musalla.
that it may become a weak kingdom, so as never to lift itself up, that he may keep his covenant, and establish it.
15 Tusruktu tokosra lun Judah el lain ma inge, ac supwala mwet lal nu Egypt in utuk horse ac un mwet mweun pus. Ya ac ku in wi ma el nunku an? Ya el ku in oru lumah inge ac tia nununkeyuk el? El tia ku in kunausla wulela sac ac wangin kaiyuk nu sel!”
And [if] he shall revolt from him, to send his messengers into Egypt, that [they] may give him horses and much people; shall he prosper? shall he that acts as an adversary be preserved? and shall he that transgresses the covenant be preserved?
16 LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “In oana ke nga pa God moul, tokosra se inge ac misa in acn Babylonia, mweyen el kunausla fulahk lal ke wulela se el orala inmasrlol ac tokosra lun Babylonia, su srisrngilya tuh elan tokosra.
[As] I live, says the Lord, verily in [the] place where the king is that made him king, who dishonored my oath, and who broke my covenant, shall he die with him in the midst of Babylon.
17 Finne mwet mweun fokoko lun tokosra Egypt, elos ac fah tia ku in kasru tokosra lun Judah ke pacl in mweun, ke mwet Babylonia ac elosak fohk ke pot, ac pukanak laf tuh elos in ku in uniya mwet puspis.
And Pharaoh shall make war upon him not with a large force or great multitude, in throwing up a mound, and in building of forts, to cut off souls.
18 El kunausla fulahk lal ac wulela se ma el orala. El oru ma inge nukewa, ac inge el ac tia ku in kaingla.”
Whereas he has profaned the oath so as to break the covenant, when, behold, I engage his hand, and he has done all these things to him, he shall not escape.
19 LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “In oana ke nga pa God moul, nga ac kalyael ke el kunausla wulela ma el fulahk kac Inek mu el ac karinganang.
Therefore say, Thus says the Lord; [As] I live, surely mine oath which he has profaned, and my covenant which he has transgressed, I will even recompense it upon his head.
20 Nga ac laknelik sie nwek in sruokilya. Na nga ac usalla nu Babylonia ac sang kai nu sel we, mweyen el tia pwaye nu sik.
And I will spread a net upon him, and he shall be caught in its snare.
21 Mwet mweun watwen lal ac anwuki nufon ke mweun, ac mwet lula uh ac fahsrelik nu yen nukewa. Na kowos ac fah etu lah nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
In every battle of his they shall fall by the sword, and I will scatter [his] remnant to every wind: and you shall know that I the Lord have spoken it.
22 Pa inge ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk: “Nga ac kotala fien soko sak cedar fulat, Ac kotala sie srun srisrik kac; Nga ac yukwiya fin soko eol fulat —
For thus says the Lord; I will even take of the choice [branches] of the cedar from the top [thereof], I will crop off their hearts, and I will plant it on a high mountain:
23 Fineol fulat emeet in acn Israel. Ac fah kapak, lahelik ac isus fahko, Na ac orala soko sak cedar yohk ac wo. Kain in won nukewa yen engyeng uh ac fah muta olo Ac mongla ye lulin sak uh.
and I will hang it on a lofty mountain of Israel: yes, I will plant it, and it shall put forth shoots, and shall bear fruit, and it shall be a great cedar: and every bird shall rest beneath it, even every fowl shall rest under its shadow: its branches shall be restored.
24 Sak nukewa in facl sac ac fah etu Lah nga pa LEUM GOD. Nga pakiya sak fulat uh Ac oru sak fototo uh in kapak fulat. Nga oru sak folfol insroa in masla, Ac oru sak masla in sifil folfol insroa. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge. Nga ac oru ma nga fahk mu nga ac oru.”
And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord that bring low the high tree, and exalt the low tree, and wither the green tree, and cause the dry tree to flourish: I the Lord have spoken, and will do [it].
