< Esther 5 >
1 Ke len in lalo se aktolu, Esther el nokomang nuknuk in kasra lal ac som ac tu inkalkal se oan loac ke lohm sel tokosra, ac ngetang nu ke infukil lun tron. Tokosra el muta infukil sac fin tron lal, ac ngetang nu ke nien utyak ah.
Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
2 Ke pacl se tokosra el liyalak Kasra Esther lah el tu lik ah, insial insewowo sel, ac el asroeang scepter gold soko ah nu sel. Na Kasra Esther el utyak ac kahlya mutun scepter gold soko ah.
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favor in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the scepter.
3 Tokosra el siyuk, “Kasra Esther, mea kom lungse— Fahk nu sik lah mea kom enenu, na ac fah itukot nu sum, finne tafu tokosrai luk.”
Then said the king to her, What will you, queen Esther? and what is your request? it shall be even given you to the half of the kingdom.
4 Esther el topuk ac fahk, “Fin wo sin tokosra, nga kena suli tokosra ac Haman nu ke sie kufwa nga akoo nu suwos oyeku.”
And Esther answered, If it seem good to the king, let the king and Haman come this day to the banquet that I have prepared for him.
5 Na tokosra el sapla nu yorol Haman elan sulaklak tuku, eltal in som fal nu ke solsol lal Esther. Ouinge tokosra ac Haman som nu ke kufwa se Esther el akoela nu selos.
Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther has said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 Ke pacl se eltal nim wain, tokosra el siyuk sel Esther, “Fahk nu sik ma kom lungse, ac nga ac fah sot nu sum. Kom finne siyuk ke tafu tokosrai luk, ac fah itukot nu sum.”
And the king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, What is your petition? and it shall be granted you: and what is your request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;
8 “Fin wo sin Tokosra, ac Tokosra fin insewowo in lohng mwe siyuk luk, nga kena tuh Tokosra ac Haman in tuku nu ke sie pac kufwa nga akoo nu suwos lutu. In pacl sacn nga ac fah fahk nu sin Tokosra ma nga enenu.”
If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king has said.
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
10 Tusruktu el tiana akkalemye toasr lal, ac el folokla nu lohm sel. Na el pangoneni mwet kawuk lal nu in lohm sel, ac solalma Zeresh, mutan kial, elan tuku welulos.
Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.
11 El konkin nu selos ke lupan kasrup lal, pusiyen wen natul, ac ke tokosra el tuh kilukunulak nu ke sie kunokon fulat, ac ke arulana yohk sripal liki leum saya lun tokosra.
And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 Haman el tafwela mu, “Sayen ma inge, Kasra Esther el tuh akoo sie kufwa, tia nu sin kutena mwet, a nu sik ac tokosra mukena, na el sifilpa suli kut nu lutu.
Haman said moreover, Yes, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited to her also with the king.
13 Tusruktu ma inge nukewa ma pilasr sik ke nga srakna liyel Mordecai, mwet Jew sac, muta ke nien utyak nu inkul fulat sin tokosra.”
Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.
14 Ke ma inge, mutan kial ac mwet kawuk lal elos fahk nu sel, “Efu kom ku tia sap in musaiyukla sie nien loksak, ke fit itngoul limekosr fulata— Lututang kom ku in siyuk sel tokosra elan sapkin tuh Mordecai elan sripsripyak kac, na kom ac engan ac som nu ke kufwa ah.” Haman el eis mu nunak na wowo se, ouinge el sapkin in musala nien loksak se.
Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends to him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak you to the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go you in merrily with the king to the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
