< Esther 4 >

And when Mordecai knew all that was done, Mordecai rent his garments, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and bitter cry,
2 nwe ke el sun mutunoa nu ke lohm sin tokosra. El tiana ilyak nu loac, mweyen tia filfilla mwet in utyak nu we elos fin nukum nuknuk yohk eoa.
and came even before the king's gate; for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.
3 In facl nukewa ma mwe fahkak lun tokosra akkalemyeyuk we, oasr tung mwemelil inmasrlon mwet Jew. Elos lalo, tung, ac wowoyak ke asor lulap, ac pus selos nokomang nuknuk yohk eoa ac oan in apat.
And in every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing: many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
4 Ke mutan kulansap ac mwet eunuch lal Kasra Esther fahk nu sel ouiya ma Mordecai el oru, el liksreni na supwarla. El supwala kutu nuknuk nu sel Mordecai elan sang aolla nuknuk yohk eoa, a el tiana eis.
And Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told [it] her; and the queen was exceedingly grieved: and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him; but he received [it] not.
5 Na Esther el solalma Hathach, sie sin mwet eunuch ke inkul lun tokosra su pakpuki sel tokosra tuh elan mwet kulansap lal kasra, ac el sap elan som nu yorol Mordecai ac siyuk lah mea se sikyak ac mea sripauk.
Then Esther called for Hatach, [one] of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to wait upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.
6 Hathach el som nu yorol Mordecai ke nien toeni lun mwet uh ke mutun lohm sel tokosra.
And Hatach went forth to Mordecai, unto the public place of the city which was before the king's gate.
7 Mordecai el fahkang nu sel ma nukewa ma sikyak nu sel, ac oayapa ke lupan mani se ma Haman el wulela in srukak nu ke nien fil mani lun tokosra fin susakla mwet Jew nukewa.
And Mordecai told him of all that had happened to him, and of the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
8 El sang nu sel Hathach mwe fahkak se ma simla ac supweyukelik in acn Susa, su sapkakin in sikiyukla mwet Jew. Mordecai el siyuk sel elan usla nu sel Esther, ac akkalemye ouiya inge nu sel, ac siyuk elan utyak nu yorol tokosra ac kwafe sel elan nunak munas nu sin mwet lal, mwet Jew.
And he gave him a copy of the writing of the decree that had been given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew [it] to Esther, and to declare [it] to her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication to him, and to make request before him, for her people.
And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
10 ac Esther el fahk elan folokla ac fahk kas inge nu sel Mordecai:
And Esther spoke to Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai:
11 “Kutena mwet, mukul ku mutan, fin utyak nu in kalkal se oan loac in lohm sin tokosra ke tia solsol el, mwet sacn ac enenu in misa. Ma sap se pa inge. Mwet nukewa etu ke ma se inge, mutawauk ke mwet pwapa fulat lun tokosra nwe ke mwet in mutunfacl saya pac. All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces do know that whoever, whether man or woman, shall come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law, to put [him] to death, except [such] to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live; and I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.
12 Ke Mordecai el lohng kas inge sel Esther,
And they told Mordecai Esther's words.
13 el supwala kas in top lal nu sel, “Nik kom nunku mu kom mukena inmasrlon mwet Jew ac ku in kaingkunla ouiya se inge ke sripen na kom muta inkul fulat sin tokosra.
And Mordecai bade to answer Esther: Imagine not in thy heart that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews.
14 Kom fin mihsla ac tia kas ke pacl ouinge uh, inkanek in kasru fah tuku lucng me nu sin mwet Jew, ac elos ac fah moliyukla, tusruktu kom ac misa, ac sou lun papa tomom fah wanginla. Na su etu, sahp ma na orek tuh kom in kasrala nu ke pacl se inge!”
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there arise relief and deliverance to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall perish. And who knows whether thou art [not] come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
15 Esther el supwala kas in top inge nu sel Mordecai:
And Esther bade to answer Mordecai:
16 “Fahla ac eisani mwet Jew nukewa in Susa nu sie. Kowos lalo ac pre keik. Nik kowos mongo ku nim kutena ma ke len tolu ac fong tolu. Nga, ac mutan kulansap luk, fah oru oapana. Tukun ma inge, nga fah som nu yorol tokosra, finne lain ma sap. Nga fin oru tuh misa, na nga misa.”
Go, gather together all the Jews that are found in Shushan, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise, and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.
17 Na Mordecai el som, ac oru ma nukewa ma Esther el sap elan oru.
And Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.
