< Esther 3 >

1 Kutu pacl tok, Tokosra Ahasuerus el kilukunak mwet se pangpang Haman nu ke wal se ma fulat liki mwet leum nukewa sayal. Haman el wen natul Hammedatha, su sie mwet in fwilin tulik natul Agag.
After these things king Ahasuerus promoted Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that [were] with him.
2 Tokosra el sapkin mwet leum nukewa su kulansapwal in akfulatyal Haman, ac elos in putati ac pasrla nu sel. Elos nukewa oru sayal Mordecai, su tia wi putati ac epasr nu sel.
And all the king's servants that [were] in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman; for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did [him] reverence.
3 Mwet leum sayal uh elos siyuk sel lah efu el ku tia akos ma sap lun tokosra.
Then the king's servants who [were] in the king's gate, said to Mordecai, Why dost thou transgress the king's commandment?
4 Len nu ke len elos kwafel elan sroang wi, tuh el tiana porongelos. El fahk mu, “Nga sie mwet Jew, ac nga tia ku in epasr nu sel Haman.” Ke ma inge elos fahkang nu sel Haman ma se inge, in suk lah el ac ku in muteng ouiya se lal Mordecai inge.
Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily to him, and he hearkened not to them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he [was] a Jew.
5 Haman el foloyak ke el etauk lah Mordecai el tia wi putati ac epasr nu sel,
And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

And he scorned to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shown him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that [were] throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, [even] the people of Mordecai.
7 In yac aksingoul luo wacl Tokosra Ahasuerus, in malem se meet, malem in Nisan, Haman el sapkin in orek susfa (elos pangon “purim”) in konauk len su in malem su el ac oru pwapa sulallal se lal inge. Len aksingoul tolu in malem aksingoul luo, malem Adar, pa sikyak.
In the first month, (that [is], the month Nisan, ) in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that [is], the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, [to] the twelfth [month], that [is], the month Adar.
8 Ouinge Haman el fahk nu sel Tokosra Ahasuerus, “Oasr un mwet se fahsrelik ac muta ke mutunfacl nukewa in tokosrai lom uh. Facsin lalos uh sie liki na facsin lun mwet nukewa. And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws [are] diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it [is] not for the king's profit to suffer them.
9 Fin ou lungse lun Tokosra Fulat, supwalik sie sap ku tuh elos in sikiyukla. Kom fin oru ouinge, nga ac srukak tuhn in silver tolfoko itngoul limekosr nu in nien fil mani lun tokosra, in kasru mukuikui nukewa lun tokosrai uh.”
If it shall please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring [it] into the king's treasuries.
10 Oasr sie ring lun tokosra ma orekmakinyuk in stami kutena ma simusla ku sin tokosra. Na tokosra el eisla ring sac liki kufinpaol, ac sang nu sel Haman, mwet lokoalok lun mwet Jew, su wen natul Hammedatha, in fwilin tulik natul Agag.
And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews enemy.
11 Tokosra el fahk nu sel Haman, “Mwet ingan ac mani lalos ma lom. Oru oana lungse lom.”
And the king said to Haman, The silver [is] given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.
12 Ouinge ke len se aksingoul tolu ke malem se meet, Haman el solani mwet sim nukewa lun tokosra, ac akkalemye sie mwe fahkak nu selos, elos in lungasla nu ke kas nukewa ac in simusla ke kain in sim nukewa ma orekmakinyuk in tokosrai sac. Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded to the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that [were] over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province, according to the writing of it, and [to] every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.
13 Mwet utuk kas elos usalik mwe fahkak inge nu in mutunfacl nukewa lun tokosrai sac. Kas kac uh fahk mu in len sefanna, len aksingoul tolu in malem Adar, mwet Jew nukewa — mukul, mutan, ac tulik — in anwuki. Elos in tufah akmuseyuki ke wangin pakomuta, ac ma lalos nukewa in itukla in ma wap.
And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, [even] upon the thirteenth [day] of the twelfth month, which [is] the month Adar, and [to take] the spoil of them for a prey.
14 Mwe fahkak ke ma sap ku sac enenu in sulkakinyukelik nu in mutunfacl nukewa, tuh mwet nukewa in akola nu ke len sac.
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province, was published to all people, that they should be ready against that day.

The posts departed, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
