< Ecclesiastes 5 >

1 Karinganang fahsr lom nu in Tempul uh. Wo kom in som nu we in eis mwe lutlut, liki in orek kisa oana mwet lalfon su tia etu inmasrlon ma pwaye ac ma sutuu.
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
2 Nunkala in wo meet liki kom kaskas, ac nimet oru kutena wulela ingunyar nu sin God. El muta inkusrao ac kom muta fin faclu, ouinge nik kom fahk kas pus liki ma fal kom in fahk.
Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter [any] thing before God: for God [is] in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
3 Kom fin nunak yokla kom ac mweme koluk, ac kom fin kaskas pusla, kom ac ku in fahk kas lalfon.
For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice [is known] by a multitude of words.
4 Ke kom oru sie wulela nu sin God, aksaye in akfalye. El tia insewowo sin mwet lalfon uh. Oru ma kom wulela kac.
When thou vowest a vow to God, defer not to pay it; for [he hath] no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Wo kom in tiana orek wulela, liki na kom in orek wulela ac tia akfalye.
Better [is it] that thou shouldst not vow, than that thou shouldst vow and not pay.
6 Nimet lela kas lom uh in eiskomyang nu ke ma koluk, na kom fah tia enenu in som fahk nu sin mwet tol lun God lah kom tafongla. Efu kom ku oru God Elan kasrkusrak sum, ac kunausla ma kom orekma ac kemkatu kac?
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it [was] an error: why should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thy hands?
7 Finne pukanten mweme lom, ac finne pukanten orekma lusrongten lom, ac finne pusla kaskas lom, kom ac enenu na in sunakin God ac akfulatyal.
For in the multitude of dreams and many words [there are] also [divers] vanities: but fear thou God.
8 Nimet lut ke kom liye ke mwet kol lun sie mutunfacl elos akkeokye mwet sukasrup ac sruokya nununku suwohs lukelos. Kais sie mwet kol liyeyukyang sin sie su fulat lukel, ac eltal kewa karinginyuk selos su fulat lukelos.
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perversion of judgment and justice in a province, wonder not at the matter: for [he that is] higher than the highest regardeth; and [there are] higher than they.
9 Fahko lun acn uh ma nu sin mwet nukewa. Sripa lun sie tokosra pa elan karingin nien ima uh.
Moreover, the profit of the earth is for all: the king [himself] is served by the field.
10 Kom fin lungse mani, kom ac tia ku in muti; kom fin kena kasrup, ma kom ac eis ac fah tiana fal nu ke lungse lom. Ma inge wangin pac sripa.
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this [is] also vanity.
11 Mwe kasrup lom fin yokelik, na ac puseni pac mwet kom kite. Pwayena ma wo kom ac eis kac uh pa kom ac etu lah kom kasrup.
When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good [is there] to the owners of them, saving the beholding [of them] with their eyes?
12 Sie mwet orekma, finne fal ku sufal ma el kang, el ku in motulla wo. Tusruktu sie mwet kasrup, ke sripen puslana ma lal, el ac sensen ac koflana motulla.
The sleep of a laboring man [is] sweet, whether he eateth little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
13 Pa inge sie lumah na koluk nga liye fin faclu: mwet uh ac karingin mani lalos nu ke sie pacl elos ac enenu,
There is a grievous evil [which] I have seen under the sun, [namely], riches kept for the owners of them to their hurt.
14 ac tok tuhlac nufon ke sie orekma koluk oakwuk kac, na saflaiya wangin ma lula in tutafla nu sin tulik natulos.
But those riches perish by evil labor: and he begetteth a son, and [there is] nothing in his hand.
15 Ke kut isusla nu faclu, wangin ma kut us, ac ke kut ac som liki faclu wangin pac ma kut ac us. Kut finne orekma upa, wangin ma kut ku in us wi kut.
As he came into the world, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.
16 Tiana fal in ouinge! Kut ac som oana ke kut tuku. Kut orekma kemkatu, oana kut in srike sruokya eng uh, a mea kut eis kac?
And this also [is] a grievous evil, [that] in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath labored for the wind?
17 Kut moulkin moul in lohsr, asor, fosrnga, kasrkusrak, ac mas.
All his days also he eateth in darkness, and [he hath] much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.
Behold [that] which I have seen: [it is] good and comely [for one] to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it [is] his portion.
19 God El fin sang mwe kasrup ac acn nu sin sie mwet tuh elan engankin, fal elan sang kulo kac ac engankin orekma lal. Ma inge mwe kite sin God me.
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this [is] the gift of God.
20 Ke God El oru mwet sac elan engankin ma inge uh, el ac tia arulana nunku ke fototo moul lal uh.
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth [him] in the joy of his heart.
