< Deuteronomy 24 >

When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, then it shall be, if she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2 Na mutan sac fin sifil payukyak sin siena mukul,
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s [wife].

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
4 Na ke sripen mutan sac el oan tari yurin mukul akluo timal, el tia ku in sifil payuk nu sin mukul tumal meet ah. Lumah se inge LEUM GOD El arulana srunga. Nik kowos aktaekye facl se LEUM GOD lowos El asot nu suwos.
her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
5 “Ke sie mukul el payuk sasu, ac fah tia supweyukla el nu ke mweun, ku kuneyuk el nu ke kutena kain in kunokon lun acn uh. El sukosokla liki kutena kunokon ke yac fon se, tuh elan ku in mutana in lohm sel ac insewowo yurin mutan kial.
When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go out in the host, neither shall he be charged with any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife which he hath taken.
6 “Pacl kom ac sang enenu lun sie mwet su ngisre sum, kom fah tia eis kewana eot in ilil wheat lal in oan yurum nu ke pacl se el fah akfalye ngusr lal. Mweyen pa na ingan ma sou sacn moulkin.
No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh [a man’s] life to pledge.
7 “Kutena mwet fin pisrala sie sin mwet Israel wial ac oru tuh elan mwet kohs lal, ku el kukakunulla tuh in mwet kohs lun kutena mwet, mwet pisrapasr sacn enenu in anwuki. Ma inge ac oru tuh ma koluk se inge in wanginla liki inmasrlowos.
If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.
8 “Kom fin maskin musen lepa, ku kutena mas upa ke kolo, kom enenu in oru ma nukewa mwet tol Levi elos sap kom in oru. Oru oana kas in luti ma nga sang nu selos.
Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam, by the way as ye came forth out of Egypt.

When thou dost lend thy neighbour any manner of loan, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.
11 Mutana likinima ac soano elan sifacna usot.
Thou shalt stand without, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring forth the pledge without unto thee.
12 El fin mwet sukasrup se, nik kom sruokya nuknuk sac ke fong uh.
And if he be a poor man, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:
13 Folokunla nu sel ke ekela, elan mau ku in nukum ke el motul. Na el ac arulana sang kulo, ac LEUM GOD lom El ac insewowo sum.
thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

in his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
16 “Papa ac nina ac fah tia anwuki ke sripen ma koluk lun tulik natulos, ac tulik uh ac fah tia anwuki ke ma koluk lun papa tumalos ac nina kialos. Mwet se fah anwuki ke sripen na ma koluk lal sifacna.
The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of the stranger, [nor] of the fatherless; nor take the widow’s raiment to pledge:
18 Esam lah kowos tuh mwet kohs in facl Egypt, ac LEUM GOD lowos El tuh molikowosla, pa sis nga asot ma sap se inge nu suwos.
but thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
19 “Ke pacl kom kosrani fokin ima lom ac kom sisla kutu wheat ma kom kosrala, nimet folokla in eis. Filiya na tuh in ma lun mwetsac, mwet mukaimtal ac katinmas. Ouinge LEUM GOD lom El ac fah akinsewowoye kom ke ma nukewa kom oru.
When thou reapest thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
20 Ke kom tungasla tari fokin olive sunom pacl se, nimet folokla ac eis ma lula kac. Ma lula an in ma nu sin mwetsac, mwet mukaimtal, ac katinmas.
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21 Ke kom kosrani grape sunom pacl se meet, nik kom folokla in til pacl se akluo. Grape lula an in ma nu sin mwetsac, mwet mukaimtal ac katinmas.
When thou gatherest [the grapes of] thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22 Kowos in tiana mulkunla lah kowos tuh mwet kohs in Egypt, pa oru nga sapkin ma inge nu suwos uh.
And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
