< Amos 5 >

1 Mwet Israel, porongo on in asor soko su nga onkakin keiwos:
Hear ye this word, which, I, am taking up concerning you—even a dirge, O house of Israel.
2 Israel el oana sie mutan fusr su anwuki oan infohk uh, Su ac fah tiana sifilpa tukakek! Sisilana el, oan fin fohk uh, Ac wangin mwet in sraklalak.
She hath fallen—she cannot again rise, the virgin, Israel, —she lieth forsaken on her soil, there is none to raise her up.
3 LEUM GOD Fulat El fahk, “Sie siti in Israel supwala sie tausin mwet mweun, ac mwet siofok na painmoul foloko. Ac sie pac siti supwala mwet mweun siofok, ac mwet singoul na foloko.”
For, thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, The city that goeth out a thousand strong, shall have left it a hundred, —And, that which goeth out a hundred strong, shall have left it ten, belonging to the house of Israel.
4 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet Israel, “Fahsru nu yuruk, ac kowos fah moul.
For, thus, saith Yahweh, to the house of Israel, —Seek me, and live;
5 Nikmet som nu Beersheba in alu. Nimet srike in sukyu in acn Bethel — Bethel ac fah wanginla. Nikmet som nu Gilgal-mwet we uh ac fah som nu in sruoh.”
Then do not seek Bethel, and, Gilgal, shall ye not enter, and, unto Beer-sheba, shall ye not cross over, For, Gilgal, shall, surely go into exile, and, Bethel, shall become a trouble.
6 Suk LEUM GOD, ac kowos fah moul. Kowos fin tia sokol, El fah putati oana sie e nu fin mwet Israel. E sac fah esukak mwet in Bethel, ac wangin sie fah ku in konela.
Seek ye Yahweh, and live, —lest he break forth, like a fire, upon the house of Joseph, and it devour with none to quench it, for Bethel.
7 We nu suwos su furokla ma pwaye, ac aklalfonye mwet in eisla ma lalos!
Ye who turn, into, wormwood, justice, and, righteousness—to the ground have let fall.
8 LEUM GOD El orala itu uh, El orala Nasren ac oakiya acn sin itu saya. El ekulla lohsr lun fong nu ke kalem lun len, Ac ekulla len nu ke fong. El eis kof liki fin meoa uh Ac okoala nu fin faclu. Inel pa LEUM GOD.
[Seek him] who made the Cluster and the Giant, and turneth, into morning, the shadow of death, and who, day into night, doth darken, Him who calleth to the waters of the sea, and poureth them out on the face of the land, Yahweh, is his name:
9 El uniya mwet ku ac kunausla pot ku lalos.
Him who flasheth force on the strong, —and, force, on the fortress, alighteth!
10 Kowos srunga kutena mwet su lain orekma sesuwos ac kaskas pwaye ke pacl in nununku.
They hate the man who, in the gate, rebuketh, —and, him who speaketh truthfully, they abhor.
11 Kowos akkeokye mwet sukasrup ac pisrala mwe mongo nalos. Ke ma inge kowos ac fah tia muta in lohm wowo kowos musaela ke eot tufahl, ku nim wain liki ima in grape kato su kowos yukwiya.
Therefore—because ye have trampled on the poor, and, the gift of corn, ye would take away from him, though, houses of hewn stone, ye have built, Yet shall ye not dwell in them, —Though, delightful vineyards, ye have planted, Yet shall ye not drink the wine of them.
12 Nga etu upaiyen ma koluk lowos, ac pusiyen pacl kowos kunausla ma sap uh. Kowos akkeokye mwet wo, kowos eis molin eyeinse, ac ke pacl in nununku kowos ikol tuh suwohs lun mwet sukasrup in tia fwackyuk.
For I know how numerous are your transgressions, and how surpassing your sins, —ye adversaries of the righteous! ye acceptors of a bribe! Even the needy in the gate, have they turned away!
13 Ke pacl koluk ouinge uh, el su oasr kalem yoro el ac mislana ac tia fahk ma el nunku.
Therefore, the prudent man, at that time, will be dumb, —Because an evil time, it is!
14 Suk in oru ma suwohs ac tia ma koluk, tuh kowos in ku in moul. Na LEUM GOD Kulana El fah wi kowos, oana ke kowos fahk.
Seek ye right and not wrong, that ye nay live, —that, so, Yahweh God of hosts, may be with you, as ye have said.
15 Srunga ma koluk, ac lungse ma wo, ac akkeye tuh ma suwohs in sikyak ke pacl in nununku. Sahp LEUM GOD El ac fah pakoten nu sin mwet na pu su painmoulla in mutunfacl se inge.
Hate wrong, and love right, and station, Justice, in the gate, —Peradventure, Yahweh, God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 Ouinge LEUM GOD Fulat ac Kulana El fahk, “Ac fah oasr pusren tung mwemelil inkanek in siti uh. Ac fah solsolme mwet orekma in ima elos in wi mwet ma oasr moul nu se in tung, tuh elos kewa in tungi mas misa.
Therefore, thus, saith Yahweh, God of hosts, My Lord, In all broadways, shall be lamentation, and, in all streets, shall they say, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the husbandman unto the mourning, and, unto the lamentation, them who know a wailing song;
17 Ac fah oasr pac pusren tung ac mwemelil ke ima in grape nukewa. Ma inge nukewa ac fah sikyak mweyen nga ac tuku kalyei kowos.” LEUM GOD pa fahk ma inge.
Ye, in all vineyards, lamentation, —For I will pass along through thy midst, saith Yahweh.
18 Ac mau fuka upaiya nu suwos su salka len lun LEUM GOD! Mea ac wo nu suwos ke len sac? Ac fah mau sie len na lohsr ac tia kalem.
Alas for them who are longing for the day of Yahweh, —What good to you, is the day of Yahweh? it, being darkness and not light:
19 Ac fah mau oana sie mwet su kaingkin soko lion twe sun bear soko! Ku oana sie mwet su utyak tari nu in lohm sel ac siungya pesinka uh, a wet pwasin soko ngalsilya!
As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and there should meet him—a bear! or he should have entered the house, and leaned his hand upon the wall, and there should bite him—a serpent!
20 Len lun LEUM GOD ac fah len na lohsr matoltol, ac wangin kutu srisrik kalem kac.
Shall not the day of Yahweh be, darkness, and not light? yea, thick darkness and no brightness in it?
21 LEUM GOD El fahk, “Nga srunga kufwa kowos oru ke pacl in alu lowos. Nga tia kuhnkuni!
I hate, I despise your festivals, —and can scent no fragrance in your solemn feasts.
22 Kowos fin use mwe kisa firir ac mwe kisa wheat lowos nu sik, nga ac fah tia eis. Nga fah tia pac engan ke kosro fact ma kowos kisakin nu sik.
Nay, though ye cause to ascend unto me ascending-sacrifices, and your meal-offerings, I will not accept [them], —nor, the peace-offering of your fat heifers, will I regard.
23 Tulokinya on oraru lowos ingan. Nga tia lungse lohng pusren mwe on nutuwos an.
Take thou away from me, the noise of thy songs, —Even the melody of thy harps, will I not hear.
24 A lela nununku suwohs in asrla oana sie unon in kof, ac ma suwoswos in soror oana soko infacl su tia ku in mihnla.
But let, justice, roll along like water, —and, righteousness, as a torrent over flowing.
25 “Mwet Israel, ke nga tuh pwen kowos sasla yen mwesis ke lusen yac angngaul, kowos tuh tiana enenu in use mwe kisa ku mwe sang nu sik.
The sacrifices and meal-offering, ye brought near unto me, in the desert, for forty years O house of Israel;
26 Tusruktu inge, ke sripen kowos alu nu ke ma sruloala pangpang Sakkuth ac Kaiwan, kowos fah enenu in us ma sruloala lowos ingan
But ye carried the tent of your king-idol, and your Saturn-images, —the star of your gods, which ye made for yourselves:
27 ke nga ac eiskowosyang nu in sruoh in sie facl alukela Damascus.” Pa inge kas lun LEUM GOD, su pangpang God Kulana.
Therefore will I carry you into exile beyond Damascus, —saith Yahweh, God of hosts, is his name.
