1 Oasr kutu mwet palu ac mwet luti in church Antioch — inelos pa Barnabas, Simeon (su pangpang Sroalsroal), Lucius (sie mwet Cyrene), Manaen (su srikyak yorol Governor Herod), ac Saul.
NOW there were at Antioch, according to the established church, prophets and teachers; such as Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger the black, and Lucius a Cyrenian, and Manaen, Herod the tetrarch’s foster-brother, and Saul.
2 Ke elos kulansap nu sin Leum ac lalo, Ngun Mutal fahk nu selos, “Srella Barnabas ac Saul nu sik eltal in oru orekma su nga pangnoltal nu kac.”
And as they were employed in the ministry, and kept a fast, the Holy Ghost said, Set apart for me now both Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 Elos lalo ac pre, na elos filiya paolos facltal ac supwaltalla.
Then having kept a fast and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them out.
4 Ke Ngun Mutal supwalla Barnabas ac Saul, eltal som nwe Seleucia, ac kal we lac nu Cyprus.
They then being sent forth indeed by the Holy Ghost, went down to Seleucia; and from thence sailed to Cyprus.
5 Ke eltal sun siti Salamis, eltal fahkak kas lun God in iwen lolngok lun mwet Jew we. John Mark el welultal in kasreltal.
And being at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had John also as their attendant.
6 Eltal fahsr sasla fin tuka sac nwe ke eltal sun siti Paphos, ac sun sie mwet susfa pangpang Bar-Jesus. El sie mwet Jew, ac el sifacna fahk mu el mwet palu se.
Now as they travelled through the island as far as Paphos, they found a certain person who professed magic, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
7 El kawuk nu sin governor lun tuka sac su pangpang Sergius Paulus, sie mwet na lalmwetmet. Governor el pangnolma Barnabas ac Saul nu ye mutal, mweyen el ke lohng ke kas lun God.
who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man; he inviting to his house Barnabas and Saul, desired earnestly to hear the word of God.
8 Tusruktu mwet susfa sac (su pangpang Elymas in kas Greek) el lainultal, ac el srike elan kifasulla governor liki moul in lulalfongi uh.
But Elymas the magician (for such is his name when interpreted) opposed them, seeking to pervert the proconsul from the faith.
9 Na Saul (su pangpang pac Paul) el sessesla ke Ngun Mutal, ac el ngetang suiya mwet susfa sac
Then Saul (now Paul), filled with the Holy Ghost, and fixing his eyes upon him,
10 ac fahk, “Kom wen nutin Devil! Kom mwet lokoalok lun ma nukewa ma wo uh. Kom nwanala na ke kain kutasrik koluk nukewa, ac pacl nukewa kom srike in ekulla ma pwaye lun God nu ke ma kikiap!
said, O thou full of all guile and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease perverting the strait ways of the Lord?
11 Poun Leum God ac fah putati nu fom ingena. Kom ac fah kunla, ac tia ku in liye kalem lun len uh nwe ke sie pacl God El ac fah pakiya.” In pacl sacna Elymas el pulauk ohk se fahsryak kosrala mutal, ac el forfor suk sie mwet ah in pwanul.
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, seeing the sun no more for a season. And instantly there fell on him a thick mist and darkness; and groping about he sought some to lead him by the hand.
12 Ke governor el liye ma sikyak inge, na el lulalfongila, ac el arulana lut ke mwe luti ke Leum Jesus.
Then when the proconsul saw what was done, he believed, being struck with the doctrine of the Lord.
13 Paul ac mwet ma welul eltal kal som Paphos lac nu Perga, sie siti in acn Pamphylia. John Mark el tuh folokla Perga lac nu Jerusalem.
Hereupon sailing from Paphos, they who were about Paul came to Perga in Pamphylia: but John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14 Eltal som Perga lac nu Antioch in Pisidia, ac ke len Sabbath eltal som nu in iwen lolngok ac muta.
And they departed from Perga, and came to Antioch in Pisidia, and entering into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, they sat down.
15 Tukun ritiyuk tari kutu Ma Sap lal Moses ac kutu ma simusla lun mwet palu, mwet kol lun iwen lolngok uh supwala kas nu seltal ac fahk, “Mwet lili, kut lungse kowos in kaskas nu sin mwet uh, fin oasr kas in akkeye lowos nu selos.”
Then after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogues sent to them, saying, Men and brethren, if ye are disposed to give a word of exhortation to the people, speak.
16 Paul el tuyak, sralak paol mwet uh in misla, na el mutawauk in kaskas. El fahk, “Mwet Israel wiuk, oayapa mwet saya nukewa su alu nu sin God: kowos porongeyu!
Then Paul arose, and waving his hand, said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, hear me.
17 God lun mwet Israel El tuh sulela mwet matu lasr meet, ac oru tuh elos in sie mutunfacl ke elos tuh moul in mwetsac in facl Egypt. God El tuh usalosla liki acn Egypt ke ku lulap lal,
The God of this people Israel selected our fathers, and exalted the people during their abode in the land of Egypt, and with a mighty arm brought he them out of it.
18 ac ke yac angngaul, El mutangalos in acn mwesis.
And about the space of forty years he bore with their behaviour in the wilderness.
19 El kunausla mutunfacl itkosr in facl Canaan, ac sang acn inge tuh in ma lac lun mwet lal. Ma inge nukewa orekla ke inmasrlon yac angfoko lumngaul.
And destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he distributed their territory to them by lot.
20 “Tukun ma inge, El sang tuh mwet nununku in kololos nwe ke sun pacl lal Samuel, mwet palu.
And after these things, during a space of about four hundred and fifty years, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.
21 Toko, elos siyuk ke sie tokosra, ac God El eisalang Saul, wen natul Kish in sou lal Benjamin, elan tokosra lalos ke lusen yac angngaul.
And from that time they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Kis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years.
22 Tukun God El sisella Saul, God El akleumyalak David elan tokosra lalos. Pa inge ma God El fahk kacl: ‘Nga konauk lah David, wen natul Jesse, el kain mwet se ma nga insewowo se, su ac oru ma nukewa ma nga lungse elan oru uh.’
And removing him, he raised up unto them David to be king; respecting whom also he spake testifying, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who shall perform all my intentions.”
23 Jesus, sin fwilin tulik natul David, pa God El tuh orala in Mwet Lango nu sin mwet Israel uh, oana ke El tuh wulela kac ah.
From this man’s seed according to the promise hath God raised up to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24 Meet liki Jesus el mutawauk orekma lal, John el tuh luti nu sin mwet Israel nukewa lah enenu elos in forla liki ma koluk lalos ac baptaisla.
John having preached before his first coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 Ac ke apkuran in safla orekma lal John, el tuh fahk nu sin mwet uh, ‘Kowos nunku mu su nga uh? Tia nga pa el su kowos soano uh. A kowos in porongo! El ac tuku tukuk, ac nga kupansuwol in sarukla fahluk lal uh.’
But as John was finishing his course, he said, Whom do ye suppose me to be? I am not the Messiah. But, behold! he is coming after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 “Mwet Israel wiuk su fwilin tulik natul Abraham, ac mwet saya nukewa lohm uh su alu nu sin God: pweng ke molela se inge ma nu sesr nukewa!
Men and brethren, children of the race of Abraham, and all among you who fear God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 Tuh mwet ma muta Jerusalem, ac oayapa mwet kol lalos, tiana etu lah el pa Mwet Lango, ac elos tia pac kalem ke kas lun mwet palu ma ritiyuk ke Sabbath nukewa uh. Ne ouinge a elos oru tuh kas lun mwet palu akpwayeiyuk ke elos unilya Jesus.
For they who dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, being ignorant of him, and the words of the prophets that are read every sabbath-day, by condemning him have fulfilled them.
28 Ac elos finne tia konauk kutena sripa fal in anwuki el kac, a elos kwafe sel Pilate elan unilya.
And though they found no cause of death in him, they besought Pilate that he might be killed.
29 Ac tukun elos orala ma nukewa su Ma Simusla uh fahk kacl, elos eisya manol liki sakseng, ac fililya in kulyuk uh.
But when they had finished all things that were written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 Tusruktu God El akmoulyalak liki misa,
But God raised him from the dead:
31 ac ke len pus, el sikyang nu sin mwet su tuh welul in fufahsryesr lal Galilee me nu Jerusalem. Inge elos mwet loh kacl nu sin mwet Israel.
and he was seen many days by those who went up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
32 Ac kut tuku in use Pweng Wo ma God El tuh wulela nu sin mwet matu lasr meet ah,
And we preach to you the promise made to our fathers;
33 ac inge El akpwayei nu sesr su ma natulos, ke El akmoulyalak Jesus. Oana ma simla in Psalm luo uh, su fahk, ‘Kom wen nutik; Misenge nga papala tomom.’
for this hath God fulfilled to their children, even to us, in raising up Jesus: as it is also written in the second Psalm, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.”
34 Ac pa inge ma God El fahk ke El ac akmoulyalak liki misa uh, tuh elan tia kulawi in kulyuk uh: ‘Nga fah sot nu sum mwe insewowo mutal ac pwaye Su nga tuh wulela kac nu sel David.’
But that he raised him from the dead, no more in future to return to corruption, he hath thus spoken, “I will give you the holy things of David, which are sure.”
35 Aok, El oayapa fahk ke sie pac verse ma fahk mu, ‘Kom fah tia lela mwet kulansap oaru lom in kulawi in kulyuk uh.’
Wherefore also he saith in another place, “Thou wilt not permit thy Holy One to see corruption.”
36 Tuh ke pacl David el moul el akfalye ma lungse lun God, na el misa, ac pukpuki el yurin mwet matu lal, ac manol kulawi in kulyuk uh.
For David indeed, after having served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was placed with his fathers, and saw corruption.
37 Tusruktu el su God El akmoulyauk liki misa, el tia wi kulawi.
But he, whom God raised up, saw no corruption.
38 Ke ma inge, mwet Israel wiuk, lela in arulana kalem suwos lah nunak munas ke ma koluk su kut fahkak nu suwos uh, ma tuku ke mwet se inge, Jesus.
Be it therefore known unto you, men and brethren, that through this man remission of sin is proclaimed to you:
39 Kowos in etu pac lah mwet nukewa su lulalfongi in el, elos sukosokla liki ma koluk nukewa su Ma Sap lal Moses uh tia ku in aksukosokyekowosla liki.
and by this man shall every one who believeth be justified from all things, from which it was not possible that he should be justified by the law of Moses.
40 Ke ma inge kowos liyekowosyang tuh kas inge ma fwackyak sin mwet palu fah tia tuku nu fowos:
Take heed then, that this come not upon you, which is spoken by the prophets;
41 ‘Ngetma, kowos su aksruksrukye God! Kowos in lut ac misa! Tuh ma nga oru misenge ye motowos, Sie ma su kowos ac tia ku in lulalfongi Mwet finne aketeya nu suwos!’”
“Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I do a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though one declare it unto you.”
42 Ke Paul ac Barnabas illa liki iwen lolngok uh, mwet uh kwafe eltal in sifilpa foloko ke Sabbath se tok uh, ac sifilpa akyokye srumunyen ma inge.
But when the Jews were going out of the synagogue, the Gentiles entreated that these words might be spoken to them the following sabbath.
43 Tukun mwet uh fahsrelik liki toeni sac, mwet puspis sin mwet Jew ac oayapa mwet saya ma forla ac weang alu lun mwet Jew, elos ukwalla Paul ac Barnabas. Mwet sap uh kaskas nu selos ac akkeyalos elos in oaru na in fungyang nu ke kulang lun God.
And when the synagogue was dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, exhorting them, persuaded them to abide stedfast in the grace of God.
44 Ke Sabbath se tok ah, apkuran mwet nukewa in siti uh tuku in lohng kas lun Leum.
And on the next sabbath almost all the city thronged together to hear the word of God.
45 Ke mwet Jew elos liye pusiyen mwet uh elos sokyak na pwaye. Elos sramsram lainul Paul ac sufanul.
But the Jews seeing the multitude, were filled with envy, and opposed the things spoken by Paul, contradicting and reviling.
46 Ne ouinge a fahkak lal Paul ac Barnabas arulana pulaik liki meet ah, ac eltal fahk: “Kowos pa kut enenu na in fahkak kas lun God nu se oemeet. Tuh ke kowos pilesru ac sifacna nunku mu kowos sufal in eis moul ma pahtpat, kut ac fahsr liki kowos ac som nu yurin mwet pegan uh. (aiōnios g166)
Then Paul and Barnabas speaking with undaunted boldness, said, It was necessary that the word of God should be first spoken unto you: but since ye have thrust it from you, and judged yourselves not worthy of eternal life, lo! we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
47 Tuh pa inge ma Leum God El sapkin nu sesr: ‘Nga oakikomi tuh kom in sie kalem se nu sin mwet pegan, Tuh faclu nufon fah ku in moliyukla.’”
For so hath the Lord enjoined us, “I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, that thou mightest be for salvation unto the extremity of the earth.”
48 Ke mwet pegan elos lohng, elos arulana engan ac kaksakin pweng wo lun God; ac elos su solla tari nu ke moul ma pahtpat elos mwet lulalfongila. (aiōnios g166)
Now when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord: and they believed, even as many as were ordained to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
49 Kas lun Leum uh fahsrelik in acn nukewa in polo acn sac.
So the word of the Lord was diffused through the whole region.
50 Tusruktu mwet Jew elos purakak nunak lun mwet kol in siti sac, oayapa mutan kacto sin mwet pegan su wi pac alu nu sin God uh. Elos mutawauk in kalyael Paul ac Barnabas, ac luselosla liki acn selos uh.
Then the Jews stirred up the devout women, and those who were respectable, and the principal persons of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.
51 Na mwet sap uh osrokla kutkut ke nialos in akkalemye lah elos lain mwet in acn sac, na elos som nu Iconium.
But they, shaking off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium.
52 Mwet lulalfongi in Antioch elos arulana sessesla ke engan ac ke Ngun Mutal.
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
