1 Oasr sie mwet muta in acn Caesarea, inel pa Cornelius, ac el sie mwet leum lun un solse lun acn Rome, su pangpang “Un Mwet Mweun lun Acn Italy.”
There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band],
[A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 Sahp ac ao tolu tafun len tok sie len ah, el liye sie aruruma na kalem, ac el liye sie lipufan lun God tuku nu yorol su fahk, “Cornelius!”
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
Ac lipufan sac fahk, “God El insewowo ke pre lom ac orekma kulang kom oru uh, ac El akola in topuk kom.
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 Inge, supwala kutu mwet an nu Joppa, nu yurin sie mwet su inel pa Simon Peter.
And now send men to Joppa, and call for [one] Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 El muta yurin sie mwet pangpang Simon, sie mwet orekma ke kulun kosro, ac lohm sel oan wekof uh.”
He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 Tukun lipufan sac som, na Cornelius el pangonma luo mwet kulansap in lohm sel ah, oayapa sie mwet mweun su akfulatye God ac su el lulalfongi yohk.
And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 El fahkang nu seltal ma sikyak uh, ac supwaltalla nu Joppa.
And when he had declared all [these] things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 In len tok ah ke elos som ac apkuran nu Joppa, Peter el fanyak nu ke mangon lohm sac ke akuran infulwen len elan tuh pre.
On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 El masrinsralla ac ke nal kutu mongo. Ke srakna akoeyuk mongo uh, el liye sie aruruma.
And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 El liye kusrao ikakla, ac ma se koeyukla lucng me oana luman sie kaot na lulap, kukla ke sruwasrik akosr kac ah nu faclu.
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Ma oan loac uh pa kain in kosro ac ma orakrak nukewa, oayapa won lemnak.
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 Pusra se fahk nu sel, “Peter, tuyak! Uni ma inge ac kang.”
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 Ac Peter el fahk, “Leum, nga tia ku! Nga soenna kang kutena ma su tia nasnas ku oal nu sik uh.”
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 Na pusra sac sifilpa fahk nu sel, “Nimet kom nunku mu kutena ma ac sufal in mongo, God El fin fahk mu ku in mongo.”
And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.
This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Ke Peter el srakna suk lah mea kalmen aruruma se inge, na mwet ma Cornelius el tuh supu ah konauk lohm sel Simon, ac inge eltal tu ke mutunoa.
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 Eltal pangyak ac siyuk, “Oasr mwet se pangpang Simon Peter lohm uh?”
And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 Peter el srakna suk lah mea kalmen aruruma sac, ke Ngun Mutal fahk nu sel, “Liye, mwet tolu pa suk kom inge.
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Ke ma inge, kom akola ac tufoki welultal som. Nimet fosrnga — nga pa supwaltalma uh.”
Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
Mea sripen tuku lowos an?”
Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what [is] the cause wherefore ye are come?
Lipufan se lun God fahkang nu sel mu elan sapma suli kom nu in lohm sel ah, tuh el fah ku in lohng ma kom ac fahk uh.”
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
23 Peter el solauk mwet uh nu in lohm uh, ac eltal motulla we ke fong sac.
Then called he them in, and lodged [them]. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
25 Ke Peter el akola in utyak, Cornelius el osun nu sel, faksufi ac alu nu sel.
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped [him].
26 Tuh Peter el tulokunulak ac fahk nu sel, “Tuyak. Mwet se na pa nga.”
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 Peter el kaskas na nu sel Cornelius ke eltal utyak nu in lohm uh, ac el konauk lah mwet puspis toeni we.
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 Peter el fahk nu selos, “Kowos arulana etu lah alu lun mwet Jew uh tia lela mwet lalos in aengani ku fahsr nu yurin mwet ke mutunfacl saya uh. Tusruktu God El akkalemye nu sik nga in tia pangon mu kutu mwet uh tia nasnas ku sufal nga in aengani yoro.
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 Pwanang ke kowos sapma nu sik uh, nga tia alolo in tuku. Tuh nga ke siyuk suwos lah efu kowos ku suliyu?”
Therefore came I [unto you] without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 ac fahk, ‘Cornelius! God El lohng tari pre lom, ac El liye orekma in pakoten lom.
And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of [one] Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33 Na pa nga tuh sapot suli kom in pacl sacna, ac kom arulana kulang lah kom tuku. Inge kut nukewa tukeni inse inge ye mutun God, ac akola in lohng ma nukewa ma God El ac sap kom in fahk nu sesr uh.”
Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
34 Peter el mutawauk in sramsram ac fahk, “Inge nga akilen lah pwayena God El oru mwet nukewa oana sie.
Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 Kutena mwet su sangeng sel ac oru ma suwohs, God El insewowo sel, el finne tuhn fuka ku mwet oya.
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 God El supwama kas lal nu sin mwet Israel, in fahkak Pweng Wo ke misla ma tuku ke Jesus Christ, su Leum fin mwet nukewa.
The word which [God] sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all: )
37 Kowos etu ke ouiya pwengpeng se ma sikyak in acn Judea nufon, mutawauk in acn Galilee tukun John el fahkak mwe luti lal ke baptais ah.
That word, [I say], ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 Kowos etu pac kacl Jesus lun Nazareth, ac ke God El sang Ngun Mutal ac ku lulap nu sel. El tuh forfor in acn nukewa ac oru ma wo, ac akkeyalos nukewa su oan ye ku lun Devil, mweyen God El welul.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 Kut mwet loh ke ma nukewa ma el tuh oru in Jerusalem ac in facl lun mwet Jew. Na elos unilya ke elos srupsrulak fin sakseng soko.
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Tuh God El akmoulyalak liki misa tukun len se aktolu, ac oru tuh elan sifilpa sikyak nu sin mwet uh —
Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 tia nu sin mwet nukewa, a nu sesr mukena, su God El nuna sulela tuh kut in orek loh kac. Aok, kut tuh welul mongo ac nim tukun el moulyak ah.
Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, [even] to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 Ac el sapkin nu sesr in luti ke Wosasu nu sin mwet uh, ac in fahkak lah el pa God El srisrngiya in tuh nununku mwet moul ac mwet misa.
And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God [to be] the Judge of quick and dead.
43 Mwet palu nukewa tuh fahkak kacl. Elos fahk lah mwet nukewa su lulalfongi kacl ac fah eis nunak munas ke ma koluk lalos ke ku lun inel.”
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 Ke Peter el srakna sramsram, na Ngun Mutal putati nu fin mwet nukewa ma lohng luti lal ah.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 Mwet lulalfongi sin mwet Jew su welul Peter tuku Joppa me elos arulana lut lah God El sang mwe kite lal ke Ngun Mutal nu sin mwet pegan pac.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 Mweyen elos lohng ke mwet inge sramsram ke pusra ma siena liki kas lalos, ac kaksakin fulatlana lun God. Na Peter el kasak ac fahk,
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 “Mwet inge elos eis Ngun Mutal oana ke kut tuh eis ah. Ke ouinge uh, ya oasr mwet ac ku in ikolya elos in tia baptaisla ke kof?”
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 Na el sap in baptaisiyukla elos inen Jesus Christ. Tukun ma inge, elos siyuk sel elan mutawin yorolos ke kutu len.
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
