< Luo Chronicle 6 >

1 Na Tokosra Solomon el pre ac fahk, “LEUM GOD, kom sulela tuh kom in muta ke pukunyeng ac yen lohsr.
Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
2 Inge nga musaela sie tempul wolana nu sum, Sie acn kom in muta we ma pahtpat.”
But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.
3 Mwet Israel nukewa elos tu we, ac tokosra el forang nu selos ac akinsewowoyalos.
And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.
4 El fahk, “Kaksakin LEUM GOD lun Israel! El liyaung na wulela El orala nu sel David, papa tumuk, ke El tuh fahk,
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spoke with his mouth to my father David, saying,
5 ‘Oe ke pacl se nga use mwet luk liki acn Egypt nwe misenge, nga tiana sulela kutena siti in facl Israel tuh in musala sie tempul mwet in alu nu sik we, oayapa nga tiana sulela sie mwet in kol mwet luk mwet Israel.
Since the day that I brought forth my people from the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:
6 Tuh pa inge, nga sulela acn Jerusalem tuh in acn se mwet uh fah alu nu sik we, ac David elan leumi mwet luk.’”
But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
7 Ac Solomon el tafwela ac fahk, “David, papa tumuk, el tuh nunku elan musai sie tempul in nien alu nu sin LEUM GOD lun Israel,
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
8 tusruktu LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel, ‘Wo lah kom lungse musai sie tempul nu sik,
But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thy heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thy heart:
9 tusruktu tia kom pa ac musai, a wen nutum — wen na pwaye se nutum — pa ac musai tempul in akfulatye Inek.’
However thou shalt not build the house; but thy son who shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
10 “Inge LEUM GOD El akpwayeye wuleang lal: nga aolla David, papa tumuk, in tokosra lun Israel, ac nga musaela sie tempul tuh mwet uh in alu we nu sin LEUM GOD lun Israel.
The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am raised up in the stead of David my father, and am seated on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
11 Ac nga likiya in Tempul, Tuptup in Wuleang, su nein eot luo ma simla wuleang su LEUM GOD El orala yurin mwet Israel.”
And in it have I put the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.
12 Ouinge, ye mutun mwet uh Solomon el som ac tu mutun loang uh, ac sralak paol ac pre.
And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:
13 (Solomon el tuh orala sie loang mwe tu ke bronze, ac filiya infulwen nien tukeni ke mutun Tempul. Mwe tu se inge fit oalkosr lusa, oalkosr sralap, ac limekosr fulat. Na el fanyak nu fin mwe tu sac ac sikukmutunteyak ac sralak paol nu lucng ac pre yen mwet nukewa ku in liyal we.)
For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,
14 El pre ac fahk, “LEUM GOD lun Israel, wangin sie god oana kom inkusrao ac fin faclu. Kom akpwayeye wuleang lom yurin mwet lom, ac kom akkalemye lungse lom nu selos ke elos akos kom ke insialos nufon.
And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor on the earth; who keepest covenant, and showest mercy to thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
15 Kom karinganang wulela lom nu sel David, papa tumuk. Misenge akpwayeyuk kas nukewa oana ma kom fahkla.
Thou who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and hast spoken with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day.
16 Inge, LEUM GOD lun Israel, liyaung pac wulela se ngia ma kom tuh orala nu sin papa tumuk ke kom tuh fahk nu sel mu sie sin tulik natul ac fah tokosra fin acn Israel in pacl e nukewa, elos fin arulana akos ma sap lom oana el.
Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; provided thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
17 Ouinge, LEUM GOD lun Israel, lela ma nukewa in akpwayeyuk oana wulela lom nu sel David, mwet kulansap lom.
Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken to thy servant David.
18 “Tusruktu, ya pwaye kom, God, ac ku in muta inmasrlon mwet faclu? Finne yohk lun kusrao, sufalla kom in muta we, na ac fuka Tempul se nga musaela inge in tuh fal lupa nu sum?
But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
19 LEUM GOD luk, nga mwet kulansap lom. Porongo pre luk, ac topuk mwe siyuk luk nu sum.
Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken to the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:
20 Karinganang Tempul se inge ke len ac fong. Kom wulela mu pa inge acn mwet uh in alu nu sum we. Ouinge, lohngyu ke pacl nga forang nu ke Tempul se inge ac pre.
That thy eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place of which thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken to the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.
21 Lohng pre luk oayapa pre lun mwet Israel, mwet lom, ke elos forang nu ke acn se inge ac pre nu sum. Lohng pre lasr liki acn sum inkusrao, ac nunak munas nu sesr.
Hearken therefore to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.
22 “Fin utukyak sie mwet nu ye mutun loang in Tempul lom tuh elan oru fulahk lal lah wangin mwatal, ac nunkeyuk mu el orala ma koluk lain sie pac mwet,
If a man shall sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath shall come before thy altar in this house;
23 O LEUM GOD, lohng inkusrao me, ac nununku mwet kulansap lom inge. Sang kalya fal nu sin kutena mwet su orala ma koluk, ac tulala mwet su wangin ma koluk lalos.
Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by punishing the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
24 “Ke pacl mwet Israel lom elos kutangyukla sin mwet lokoalok lalos ke sripen elos oru ma koluk lain kom, na elos fin forla nu sum ac tuku nu ke Tempul se inge ke inse pusisal ac pre nu sum in siyuk ke nunak munas,
And if thy people Israel are defeated by the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;
25 porongo mwe siyuk lalos inkusrao me. Nunak munas ke ma koluk lun mwet lom, ac folokunulosme nu ke facl se su kom tuh sang nu selos ac nu sin mwet matu lalos.
Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again to the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
26 “Ke kom sruokya af lom ke sripen mwet lom elos orekma koluk lain kom, na ke elos auliyak ac forang nu ke Tempul se inge ac pre nu sum ke inse pusisel,
When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
27 O LEUM GOD, porongalos inkusrao me, ac nunak munas nu sin mwet kulansap lom mwet Israel, ac luti nu selos in oru ma suwohs. Na kom, O LEUM GOD, fah supwama af nu fin facl se inge su kom sang nu sin mwet lom tuh in mwe usru lalos nwe tok.
Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, in which they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
28 “Ke pacl in sracl, ku mas upa sikyak fin acn uh, ku fokin acn uh musalla ke eng ac fol upa ac un locust, ku ke pacl mwet lokoalok elos mweuni mwet lom, ku elos maskin mas keok,
If there shall be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blighting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies shall besiege them in the cities of their land; whatever calamity or whatever sickness there be:
29 porongo pre lalos. Fin oasr inmasrlon mwet lom mwet Israel, pulakunak asor lun insialos, ac kolma paolos nu ke Tempul se inge ac pre nu sum,
Then whatever prayer or whatever supplication shall be made by any man, or by all the people of Israel, when every one shall know his own calamity and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:
30 lohng pre lalos. Porongo mwe siyuk lalos yen sum inkusrao, ac nunak munas nu selos. Oru nu sin kais mwet oana ma fal nu sel, tuh kom mukena etu nunak lun mwet uh.
Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men: )
31 Na mwet lom ac fah akfulatye kom ac akos kom pacl e nukewa ke elos muta in facl se su kom sang nu sin mwet matu lasr.
That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest to our fathers.
32 “Oayapa ke pacl mwetsac su muta in sie acn loesula lohng ke pwengpeng ac ku lom, ac lah kom akola pacl nukewa in kasru, elos ac tuku in pre ke Tempul se inge,
Moreover concerning the stranger, who is not of thy people Israel, but hath come from a distant country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy outstretched arm; if they come and pray in this house;
33 porongo pac pre lalos. Lohng kas lalos yen kom muta we inkusrao, ac oru ma elos siyuk kac, na mwet nukewa fin faclu fah etekom ac akos kom, oana mwet Israel lom elos oru. Na elos fah etu lah Tempul se nga musaela inge pa acn se mwet uh in alu nu sum we.
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as do thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
34 “Ke pacl kom sapkin nu sin mwet lom in som mweuni mwet lokoalok lalos, ac ke elos pre nu sum in kutena acn elos oasr we, ac forma nu ke siti se inge yen kom sulela, ac nu ke Tempul se ma nga musaela nu sum inge,
If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;
35 porongo pre lalos. Lohng pusralos yen sum inkusrao, ac sang kutangla nu selos.
Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
36 “Ke pacl mwet lom orala ma koluk lain kom — aok, wangin sie mwet tia oru ma koluk — na ke sripen kasrkusrak lom kom lela mwet lokoalok lalos in kutangulosla ac usalosla tuh elos in mwet kapur nu in kutu acn saya, finne acn sac oan loesula,
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man who sinneth not, ) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives to a land far off or near;
37 porongo pre lun mwet lom. Elos fin auliyak ac pre nu sum ke elos srakna muta ingo, ac fahkak lupan ma koluk ma elos orala, O LEUM GOD, lohng pre lalos.
Yet if they take it to their hearts in the land where they are carried captive, and turn and pray to thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;
If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest to their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:
39 na kom in porongo pre lalos. Lohngolos in acn sum inkusrao, ac pakoten nu selos, ac sisla ma koluk lun mwet lom nukewa.
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.
40 “Inge, O God luk, ngeta nu facsr, ac porongo pre nukewa su orek in acn se inge.
Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thy eyes be open, and let thy ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
41 Ke ma inge, LEUM GOD, tuyak wi Tuptup in Wuleang su mwe akul lun ku lom, ac utyak nu in Tempul se inge ac muta we ma pahtpat. Akinsewowoye mwet tol in ma nukewa elos oru, ac lela mwet lom nukewa in engankin wolana lom nu selos.
Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
42 LEUM GOD, nikmet ngetla liki tokosra su kom sulela. Esam lungse lom nu sel David, mwet kulansap lom.”
O LORD God, turn not away the face of thy anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.
