1 Josiah el yac oalkosr ke el mutawauk in tokosra, ac el leum in Jerusalem ke yac tolngoul sie.
Josiah [is] a son of eight years in his reigning, and he has reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem,
2 El oru ma su LEUM GOD El insewowo kac, ac fahsrna tukun srikasrak lal Tokosra David, papa matu tumal, ac arulana karinganang in akos ma sap nukewa lun God.
and he does that which is right in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the ways of his father David, and has not turned aside [to] the right or left.
3 In yac se akoalkosr ma Josiah el tokosra, ke el srakna mwet fusr, el mutawauk in alu nu sin God lal Tokosra David, papa matu tumal. Tukun yac akosr el mutawauk in kunausla acn in alu lun mwet pegan, ac ma sruloala ke god mutan Asherah, ac ma sruloala nukewa saya.
And in the eighth year of his reign (and he [is] yet a youth), he has begun to seek for the God of his father David, and in the twelfth year he has begun to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherim, and the carved images, and the molten images.

And they break down the altars of the Ba‘alim before him, and he has cut down the images that [are] on high above them, and the Asherim, and the carved images, and the molten images, he has broken and beaten small, and strews [them] on the surface of the graves of those sacrificing to them,
5 El esukak srin mwet tol lun mwet pegan fin loang uh, yen elos tuh alu we. Ke el oru ma inge nukewa, el oru tuh acn Judah ac Jerusalem in sifilpa nasnasla.
and he has burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and cleanses Judah and Jerusalem,
6 El oru ouiya inge in siti saya pac, ac in acn nukewa ma akkolukyeyukla in acn Manasseh, Ephraim, ac Simeon, fahla nwe ke sun acn Naphtali in acn epang.
and in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even to Naphtali, with their tools, all around.
7 In acn nukewa ke Tokosrai Epang, el fukulya loang ac ma sruloala kacl Asherah, ac tuktukya ma sruloala nwe ke mokutkuti, ac lipikya loang lun mwe keng. Na el folokla nu Jerusalem.
And he breaks down the altars and the Asherim, and he has beaten down the carved images very small, and he has cut down all the images in all the land of Israel, and turns back to Jerusalem.
8 In yac se aksingoul oalkosr ma Tokosra Josiah el leum, tukun el kunausla alu lun mwet pegan in tuh aknasnasyela facl sac ac Tempul, el supwala mwet tolu in akwoyela Tempul lun LEUM GOD. Inelos pa Shaphan wen natul Azaliah, Maaseiah governor lun acn Jerusalem, ac Joah wen natul Joahaz, sie mwet pwapa fulat.
And in the eighteenth year of his reign, to purify the land and the house, he has sent Shaphan son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah head of the city, and Joah son of Johaz the remembrancer, to strengthen the house of his God YHWH.
9 Mani ma mwet Levi su topang ke mutunpot elos eis in Tempul, itukyang nu sel Hilkiah, mwet Tol Fulat. (Mani inge ma orekeni sin mwet Ephraim ac Manasseh, ac mwet in acn saya ke Tokosrai Epang, oayapa sin mwet Judah, mwet Benjamin, ac mwet Jerusalem.)
And they come to Hilkiah the high priest, and they give the money that is brought into the house of God, that the Levites, keeping the threshold, have gathered from the hand of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and from all the remnant of Israel, and from all Judah, and Benjamin, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
10 Na mani inge itukyang nu sin mwet tolu ma kol mwet su orekma in akwoyela Tempul, ac elos sang nu sin
and they give [it] into the hand of the workmen, those appointed over the house of YHWH, and they give it [to] the workmen who are working in the house of YHWH, to repair and to strengthen the house;
11 kamtu ac mwet musa in moli eot ac sak ma orekmakinyuk in akwoyela lohm nukewa ma tokosra lun Judah fuhlela nwe kulawi.
and they give [it] to craftsmen and to builders to buy hewn stones, and wood for couplings and for beams [for] the houses that the kings of Judah had destroyed.
12 Mwet orekma inge elos arulana suwohs ac pwaye ke ma elos oru. Mwet Levi akosr pa kol orekma se inge: Jahath ac Obadiah ke sou lal Merari, ac Zechariah ac Meshullam ke sou lal Kohath. (Mwet Levi nukewa arulana pisrla ke srital mwe on.)
And the men are working faithfully in the business, and over them are appointed Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathite, to overlook; and of the Levites, everyone understanding about instruments of song,
13 Kutu mwet Levi elos mwet kol ke wiwa kako ac karingin mwet su oru kutu pac orekma saya, ac kutu selos mwet sim ac mwet topang mutunpot uh.
and over the burden-bearers, and overseers of everyone doing work for every service; and of the Levites [are] scribes, and officers, and gatekeepers.
14 Ke pacl se utukla mani liki iwen filma, Hilkiah el konauk book in Ma Sap lun LEUM GOD— Ma Sap su God El tuh sang nu sel Moses.
And in their bringing out the money that is brought into the house of YHWH, Hilkiah the priest has found the Scroll of the Law of YHWH by the hand of Moses,
15 El fahk nu sel Shaphan, “Nga konauk book in Ma Sap se inge in Tempul,” ac el sang book sac nu sel Shaphan,
and Hilkiah answers and says to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found [the] Scroll of the Law in the house of YHWH”; and Hilkiah gives the scroll to Shaphan,
16 ac Shaphan el usla nu yurin tokosra ac fahk, “Kut orala tari ma nukewa ma kom sapkin.
and Shaphan brings in the scroll to the king, and brings the king back word again, saying, “All that has been given into the hand of your servants they are doing,
17 Kut usla mani ma orekeni oan in Tempul, ac sang nu sin mwet orekma ac mwet kol lalos.”
and they pour out the money that is found in the house of YHWH, and give it into the hand of those appointed and into the hands of those doing the work.”
18 Na el sifilpa fahk, “Book se pa Hilkiah el se nu sik inge.” Ac el riti nu sin tokosra.
And Shaphan the scribe declares [it] to the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has given a scroll to me”; and Shaphan reads in it before the king.
19 Ke tokosra el lohng ma ritiyuk in book sac, el oela ac seya nuknuk lal.
And it comes to pass, at the king’s hearing the words of the Law, that he tears his garments,
20 Ac el sapla nu sel Hilkiah, ac Ahikam wen natul Shaphan, ac Abdon wen natul Micaiah, ac Shaphan mwet sim inkul lun tokosra, ac Asaiah mwet tutafpo fulat lal tokosra, ac fahk ouinge:
and the king commands Hilkiah, and Ahikam son of Shaphan, and Abdon son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah, servant of the king, saying,
21 “Kowos som inek ac inen mwet su srakna muta in Israel ac Judah, ac siyuk sin LEUM GOD lah mea kalmen mwe luti su oan in book se inge. LEUM GOD El kasrkusrak sesr, mweyen mwet matu lasr elos tia akos kas lun LEUM GOD, ac elos tia oru ma book se inge fahk in orek.”
“Go, seek YHWH for me, and for him who is left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the scroll that is found, for great [is] the fury of YHWH that is poured on us, because that our fathers did not keep the word of YHWH to do according to all that is written on this scroll.”
22 Ke sripen sap se lal tokosra inge, Hilkiah ac mwet welul elos som lolngok nu sin mutan palu se pangpang Huldah, su muta in acn sasu in Jerusalem. (Mukul tumal pa Shallum wen natul Tikvah, wen natul Harhas, ac el pa liyaung nuknuk mutal in Tempul.) Elos aketeya nu sin mutan sac ke ma sikyak,
And Hilkiah goes, and they of the king, to Huldah the prophetess, wife of Shallum son of Tikvath, son of Hasrah, keeper of the garments, and she is dwelling in Jerusalem in the Second [Quarter], and they speak to her thus.

And she says to them, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Say to the man who has sent you to me,
24 kas lun LEUM GOD inge nu sel, su fahk, “Nga fah kalyei Jerusalem ac mwet nukewa we ke mwe selnga su simla ke book se ma ritiyuk nu sel tokosra.
Thus said YHWH: Behold, I am bringing in calamity on this place and on its inhabitants, all the execrations that are written on the scroll that they read before the king of Judah,
25 Elos ngetla likiyu ac orek kisa nu sin god saya, ac ouinge elos akkasrkusrakyeyu ke ma nukewa elos orala. Kasrkusrak luk tayak lain Jerusalem, na ac fah tia kunla.
because that they have forsaken Me, and make incense to other gods, so as to provoke Me with all the works of their hands, and My fury is poured out on this place, and it is not quenched.
26 Ac nu sel tokosra, pa inge ma nga, LEUM GOD lun Israel, ac fahk: Kom tuh lohng ma simla in book sac,
And to the king of Judah who is sending you to inquire of YHWH, thus you say to him, Thus said YHWH God of Israel, whose words you have heard:
27 ac kom auliyak ac akpusiselye kom ye mutuk. Kom salik nuknuk lom ac tung ke kom lohng ma nga akola in oru in kalyei Jerusalem ac mwet we. Nga lohng pre lom,
Because your heart [is] tender, and you are humbled before God in your hearing His words concerning this place and concerning its inhabitants, and are humbled before Me, and tear your garments, and weep before Me, indeed, I have also heard [you]—a declaration of YHWH.
28 ouinge mwe kalya se su nga akoo nu sin Jerusalem, ac fah tia orek nwe ke tukun kom misa. Nga fah lela tuh kom in misa in misla.” Na mwet inge us kas inge ac folokla nu yorol Tokosra Josiah.
Behold, I am gathering you to your fathers, and you have been gathered to your graves in peace, and your eyes do not look on all the calamity that I am bringing on this place and on its inhabitants”; and they bring the king back word.
29 Tokosra Josiah el pangon mwet kol nukewa lun Judah ac Jerusalem,
And the king sends and gathers all the elderly of Judah and Jerusalem,
30 ac elos tukeni welul som nu ke Tempul. Mwet tol ac mwet Levi ac mwet nukewa saya, mwet kasrup ac mwet sukasrup oana sie, elos nukewa wi som. Ye mutun mwet inge nukewa, tokosra el riti book in wuleang sac nufon, ma tuh koneyukyak in Tempul.
and the king goes up to the house of YHWH, and [to] every man of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, even all the people, from great even to small, and he reads in their ears all the words of the scroll of the covenant that is found in the house of YHWH.
31 El tu ke sru soko ma sriyukla nu sin tokosra, ac orala sie wulela yurin LEUM GOD, in aksol ac karinganang ma sap ac oakwuk lal ke insial kewa ac ke ngunal kewa, ac in moulkin ma nukewa ma oan ke wulela sac, oana ke simla in book sac.
And the king stands on his station, and makes the covenant before YHWH to walk after YHWH, and to keep His commands, and His testimonies, and His statutes, with all his heart and with all his soul, to do the words of the covenant that are written on this scroll.
32 El oru tuh mwet Benjamin ac mwet nukewa saya su wi tukeni in Jerusalem, elos in wulela tuh elos fah karinganang wuleang se inge. Ouinge mwet Jerusalem elos akos ma nukewa ma oakwuki ke wuleang se ma elos orala yurin God lun papa tumalos.
And he presents everyone who is found in Jerusalem and Benjamin, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem do according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33 Tokosra Josiah el kunausla nufon ma sruloala fohkfok ma oan in acn lun mwet Israel. Na ke lusen pacl el moul, el sapkin mwet uh in kulansupu LEUM GOD lun papa matu tumalos.
And Josiah turns aside all the abominations out of all the lands that the sons of Israel have, and causes everyone who is found in Israel to serve, to serve their God YHWH; all his days they did not turn aside from after YHWH, God of their fathers.
