< Luo Chronicle 24 >
1 Joash el mutawauk in tokosra fin acn Judah ke el yac itkosr, ac el leum in Jerusalem ke yac angngaul. Nina kial ah pa Zibiah, sie mutan Beersheba.
Joash [was] seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also [was] Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
2 Joash el oru mwe insewowo nu sin LEUM GOD in pacl Jehoiada, mwet tol, el moul.
And Joash did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 Jehoiada el sulela mutan luo kial Tokosra Joash, ac eltal oswela wen ac acn nu sel.
And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.
4 Tukun el tokosrala ke kutu yac, Joash el nunkauk in akwoyela Tempul.
And it came to pass after this, [that] Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD.
5 El sap mwet tol ac mwet Levi in som nu in siti nukewa lun Judah, ac orani lupan mani sin mwet uh ma ac fal in akwoyela acn ma musalla ke Tempul ke yac sac. El fahk mu elos in oru in sa, tuh pa mwet Levi inge pahtlac.
And he convened the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather from all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. But the Levites hastened [it] not.
6 Na el pangnolma Jehoiada, mwet kol lalos, ac multikin nu sel ac fahk, “Efu ku kom tia taran mwet Levi ingan in orani mani in tax sin mwet Judah ac Jerusalem, in oana ma Moses, mwet kulansap lun LEUM GOD, el tuh oakiya mwet uh in moli in sang kasru Lohm Nuknuk Mutal sin LEUM GOD
And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, [according to the commandment] of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?
7 Mwet ma welulla Athaliah, mutan koluk sac, elos tuh aktaekyala Tempul, ac orekmakin kutu ma mutal we nu ke alu lalos nu sin Baal.
For the sons of Athaliah that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD they bestowed upon Baalim.
8 Tokosra el sap mwet Levi in orala sie box in sang, ac filiya ke mutunoa in Tempul.
And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.
9 Elos supwalik kas nu in acn nukewa in Jerusalem ac Judah, tuh kais sie mwet in use tax lalos, oana ma Moses, mwet kulansap lun LEUM GOD, el tuh mutawauk oru yen mwesis.
And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection [that] Moses the servant of God [laid] upon Israel in the wilderness.
10 Mwet uh, oayapa mwet kol lalos, elos insewowo ke ma se inge, ac elos usani tax lalos ac nwakla box sac.
And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
11 Len nukewa mwet Levi elos ac usla box sac nu sin mwet roso lun tokosra su liyaung box sac. Fin sessesla, na mwet sim lun tokosra ac sie mwet aolyen mwet Tol Fulat ac usla ac okoala mani uh, na sifil folokunla box sac nu yen oan we uh. Ouinge lupan mani na yohk se ac orekeni.
Now it came to pass, that at the time the chest was brought to the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that [there was] much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and collected money in abundance.
12 Tokosra ac Jehoiada ac sang mani inge nu sin mwet kol orekma ke Tempul, ac elos ac sang moli mwet tufahl eot, mwet kamtu, ac mwet orekma pac ke osra, tuh elos in sang orala kutena acn musalla ke Tempul.
And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.
13 Mwet nukewa moniyuk na in orekma, ac elos akwoyela Tempul arulana ku, oana ke tufahna orekla ah.
So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in its state, and strengthened it.
14 Ke pacl se tari orekma sac, ma lula ke gold ac silver itukyang nu sin tokosra ac Jehoiada, ac eltal sang ma inge orala ahlu ku kutu pac mwe orekmak ma ac eneneyuk nu ke Tempul. Ke lusen pacl Jehoiada el moul, kisa uh orek in Tempul fal nu ke pacl la.
And when they had finished [it], they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, of which were made vessels for the house of the LORD, [even] vessels to minister, and to offer [with], and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt-offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.
15 Tukun el arulana matu ac sun yac siofok tolngoul, na el misa.
But Jehoiada grew old, and was full of days when he died; a hundred and thirty years old [was] he when he died.
16 Elos piknilya inkulyuk lun mwet leum in Siti sel David, in asmakin orekma wo el oru nu sin mwet Israel, nu sin God, ac nu ke Tempul.
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both towards God, and towards his house.
17 Tusruktu tukunna Jehoiada el misa, mwet kol lun Judah elos kifasulla Tokosra Joash elan wela pwapa lalos uh.
Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened to them.
18 Ouinge mwet uh tia sifil alu in Tempul lun LEUM GOD, su God lun papa tumalos, a elos mutawauk alu nu ke ma sruloala kacl god mutan Asherah ac ma sruloala pac saya. Mwatalos ke ma koluk lalos inge pa pwanang kasrkusrak lun LEUM GOD tuku nu fin acn Judah ac Jerusalem.
And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.
19 LEUM GOD El supwala mwet palu in akesmakinyalos elos in forla nu sel, a mwet uh srunga lohng.
Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again to the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
20 Na ngun lun God tuku nu facl Zechariah, wen natul Jehoiada mwet tol. El tu yen mwet uh ku in liyal we, ac wowoyak ac fahk, “LEUM GOD El siyuk lah efu ku kowos tia akos ma El sapkin, ac kowos use mwe ongoiya nu fowos sifacna! Kowos sisella, na pa El siskowosla!”
And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.
21 Tokosra Joash el weak mwet uh in lainul Zechariah, ac ke sap lal tokosra, mwet uh tanglal Zechariah ke nien tukeni inkul lun Tempul.
And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
22 Tokosra el mulkunla orekma kulang ma Jehoiada, papa tumal Zechariah, el tuh oru nu sel, ac el sap anwuki Zechariah. Meet liki na Zechariah el ac misa, el wola ac fahk, “Lela LEUM GOD Elan liye ma kom oru an, ac kalyei kom!”
Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon [it], and require [it].
23 Ke apkuran in safla yac sac, mwet mweun lun Syria mweuni acn Judah ac Jerusalem. Elos uniya mwet kol nukewa, ac usla ma wap puspis ke elos folokla nu Damascus.
And it came to pass at the end of the year, [that] the army of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them to the king of Damascus.
24 Mwet mweun lun Syria tia pus, tusruktu LEUM GOD El sang kutangla nu selos fin mwet mweun pus lun Judah, mweyen mwet Judah elos ngetla liki LEUM GOD lun papa tumalos. Pa inge kaiyuk ma orek nu sel Tokosra Joash.
For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
25 El arulana kinetneta, ac ke mwet lokoalok lal som tari, na luo sin mwet pwapa lal sifacna eltal orek pwapa sulallal, ac unilya fin mwe oan kial, in aol ke el tuh akmuseya wen natul Jehoiada, mwet tol. Pukpuki el in Siti sel David, tusruktu tia ke inkulyuk lun mwet leum.
And when they had departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases, ) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchers of the kings.
26 Mwet ma pwapa sulal ac unilya inge pa Zabad, wen nutin mutan Ammon se pangpang Shimeath, ac Jehozabad, wen nutin mutan Moab se pangpang Shimrith.
And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.
27 Sramsram ke mukul natul Joash, ac kas in palu lainul, oayapa ma simla ke orekma lal in akwoyela Tempul, oasr in [Book in Akkalemye Koanon Book In Tokosra]. Amaziah, wen natul, pa aolul in tokosra.
Now [concerning] his sons, and the greatness of the burdens [laid] upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they [are] written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
