< Luo Chronicle 18 >

1 Ke Tokosra Jehoshaphat lun Judah el kasrupi ac pwengpeng, el akoo sie marut inmasrlon sie mwet in sou lal ac sie in sou lal Tokosra Ahab lun Israel.
Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
2 In kutu yac tok, Jehoshaphat el som nu in siti Samaria in mutwata yorol Ahab. Na Ahab el sap in anwuki sheep ac cow puspis in orala sie kufwa in akfulatyal Jehoshaphat ac mwet ma welul. Ac el eyeinse nu sel Jehoshaphat elan welul mweuni acn Ramoth in Gilead.
And after [certain] years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that [he had] with him, and persuaded him to go up [with him] to Ramoth-gilead.
3 El siyuk sel, “Kom ac ku in wiyu mweuni acn Ramoth?” Jehoshaphat el topuk, “Pacl na kom akola, nga ac mwet luk uh akola pac. Kut ac wi kom.”
And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I [am] as thou [art], and my people as thy people; and [we will be] with thee in the war.
4 Na el tafwelana in fahk, “Tusruktu, kut in suk nunak lun LEUM GOD meet.”
And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to-day.
5 Ouinge Ahab el pangonma mwet palu lal, pisalos akuran sun mwet angfoko, na el siyuk selos, “Ku fal nga in som mweuni acn Ramoth, ku tia?” Elos topuk, “Fahla, mweun. God El ac fah sot kutangla nu sum.”
Therefore the king of Israel collected of prophets four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver [it] into the king's hand.
6 Tusruktu Jehoshaphat el siyuk, “Ya wangin pac sie mwet palu kut ku in siyuk lungse lun LEUM GOD se?”
But Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may inquire of him?
7 Ahab el topuk, “Oasr pac mwet se, ac inel pa Micaiah, wen natul Imlah. Tusruktu nga srungal mweyen el tiana wi palu wo nu sik. Pacl nukewa el fahk ma na koluk.” Na Jehoshaphat el fahk, “Tia wo kom in fahk ouingan!”
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, [There is] yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good to me, but always evil: the same [is] Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
8 Ouinge Ahab el suli sie mwet kol ke inkul lun tokosra, ac sap elan sulaklak som solalma Micaiah.
And the king of Israel called for one [of his] officers, and said, Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
9 Tokosra luo inge nuknukyang ke nuknuk in tokosra, ac muta fin tron laltal ke acn in sisla kulun wheat likin na mutunpot lun Samaria, ac mwet palu nukewa oru palu lalos ye mutaltal.
And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat each of them on his throne, clothed in [their] robes, and they sat in a void place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
10 Sie selos pa Zedekiah, wen natul Chenaanah. El orala kutu koac osra, ac el fahk nu sel Ahab, “Pa inge ma LEUM GOD El fahk, ‘Kom fah us koac inge ac sang mweuni mwet Syria, ac kom ac arulana kutangulosla.’”
And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they shall be consumed.
11 Mwet palu nukewa saya fahk oana, “Fahsr lain acn Ramoth, ac kom ac fah kutangla. LEUM GOD El ac asot kutangla nu sum.”
And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD will deliver [it] into the hand of the king.
12 In pacl sac pacna, mwet kol se su som in eisal Micaiah el fahk nu sel, “Mwet palu nukewa sayom palye ma ac wo nu sin tokosra. Na pa wo kom in fahk oana.”
And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets [declare] good to the king with one consent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
13 A Micaiah el topuk, “Ke Inen LEUM GOD moul, ma God luk El fahk, nga fah fahk!”
And Micaiah said, [As] the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
14 Ke el utyak nu ye mutal Tokosra Ahab, na tokosra el siyuk sel, “Micaiah, ku fal nga ac Tokosra Jehoshaphat in som mweuni acn Ramoth, ku tia?” Micaiah el topuk, “Fahla mweun. Kowos ac kutangla! LEUM GOD El ac sot kutangla nu suwos.”
And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
15 Tusruktu Ahab el fahk nu sel, “Ke kom kaskas ke Inen LEUM GOD, fahk na ma pwaye! Pacl ekasr nga enenu nga in fahk ma se inge nu sum?”
And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?
16 Na Micaiah el topuk fahk, “Nga liye mwet mweun lun Israel oalik fineol uh oana sheep su wangin mwet shepherd lalos. Ac LEUM GOD El fahk, ‘Wangin mwet kol lun mwet inge. Lela elos in folokla nu yen selos in misla.’”
Then he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return [therefore] every man to his house in peace.
17 Ahab el fahk nu sel Jehoshaphat, “Nga fahk tari nu sum lah el tia wi palye ma ac wo nu sik, a pacl nukewa ma koluk mukena!”
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee [that] he would not prophesy good to me, but evil?
18 Na Micaiah el tafwela ac fahk, “Inge lohng ma LEUM GOD El fahk! Nga liye LEUM GOD El muta fin tron lal inkusrao, ac lipufan nukewa lal elos tu siskal.
Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and [on] his left.
19 LEUM GOD El siyuk, ‘Su ac fah kiapwella Ahab elan som in tuh anwuki el in acn Ramoth?’ Kutu sin lipufan fahk sie kas, ac kutu fahk sie pac,
And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spoke saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 nwe ke na sie ngun fahsryak nu meet, suwosyang nu sin LEUM GOD ac fahk, ‘Nga ac kiapwella.’ LEUM GOD El siyuk, ‘Kom ac oru fuka?’
Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said to him, With what?
21 Na ngun sac fahk, ‘Nga ac som oru mwet palu nukewa lal Ahab in kikiap.’ Na LEUM GOD El fahk, ‘Fahla kiapwella. El ac lukukla wela ma kom fahk.’”
And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And [the LORD] said, Thou shalt entice [him], and thou shalt also prevail: go out and do [even] so.
22 Na Micaiah el aksafyela kas lal ac fahk, “Ma na nga fahk uh pa sikyak inge. LEUM GOD El oru tuh mwet palu lom in kiapwekom. A El sifacna akoekomla in sun ongoiya!”
Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.
23 Na mwet palu Zedekiah el kalukyang nu yorol Micaiah, ac puokya likintupal ac siyuk, “Ku ngac ngun lun LEUM GOD som likiyu ac kaskas nu sum?”
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the spirit of the LORD from me to speak to thee?
24 Micaiah el topuk, “Kom ac fah konauk ke pacl se kom ac som in wikla ke sie infukil ma oan tok ah.”
And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
25 Na Tokosra Ahab el sap nu sin sie sin leum lal, “Kaprilya Micaiah ac usalla nu sel Amon, governor lun siti uh, ac nu sel Fisrak Joash.
Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
26 Fahkang mu eltal in siselang nu in presin, ac sang na bread ac kof kital, nwe ke pacl nga moul foloko.”
And say, Thus saith the king, Put this [man] in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
27 Micaiah el fahk, “Kom fin moul foloko, na kalem lah tia LEUM GOD pa supweyu in fahk ma inge!” El tafwelana in fahk, “Kowos nukewa porongo ma nga fahk uh!”
And Micaiah said, If thou shalt certainly return in peace, [then] hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28 Na Tokosra Ahab lun Israel ac Tokosra Jehoshaphat lun Judah eltal som in mweuni siti Ramoth in acn Gilead.
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
29 Ahab el fahk nu sel Jehoshaphat, “Ke kut ac som nu ke mweun uh, nga ac fah tia nukum nuknuk in tokosra luk, a kom nukum na nuknuk in tokosra lom.” Ouinge tokosra lun Israel el ekulla lumahl ke el som nu ke mweun.
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
30 Tokosra lun Syria el sap nu sin captain lun chariot lal uh in tia mweuni kutena mwet sayen tokosra lun Israel.
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that [were] with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 Ouinge ke elos liyal Tokosra Jehoshaphat elos nunku mu el pa tokosra lun Israel, ac elos forang in mweunel. Na Jehoshaphat el liksreni wola, ac LEUM GOD El molella, ac folokunla mwet ukwal ah.
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It [is] the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them [to depart] from him.
32 Captain lun chariot elos liye tuh tia tokosra Israel pa el, ouinge elos tila ukwal.
For it came to pass, that when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
Forla, kaing!”
And a [certain] man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot-man, Turn thy hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
34 Ke mweun uh srakna upa, Tokosra Ahab el fungla na muta in chariot natul, ac ngetla nu yurin mwet Syria. Na ke faht ah tili, el misa.
And the battle increased that day: yet the king of Israel supported [himself] in [his] chariot against the Syrians until the evening: and about the time of the sun setting he died.
