< Luo Chronicle 16 >
1 In yac aktolngoul onkosr ma Tokosra Asa el leum lun Judah, Tokosra Baasha lun Israel el utyak ke ku lal nu fin acn Judah, ac mutawauk in kuhlasak acn Ramah, in tulokinya utyak ac illa lun mwet uh in facl Judah.
In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2 Ke ma inge, Asa el eis silver ac gold liki nien fwil ma saok in Tempul ac in lohm sin tokosra, ac supwala nu Damascus nu sel Benhadad, tokosra lun Syria, wi kas inge:
Then Asa brought silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3 “Lela nga kom in akasrui, oana papa tumasr. Eis silver ac gold ingan mwe lung luk nu sum. Inge, kunausla kupasr lom nu sel Tokosra Baasha lun Israel, tuh elan usla mwet lal liki acn sik.”
[There is] a league between me and thee, as [there was] between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
4 Benhadad el insesela nu ke pusra se lal Asa inge, ac el supwala captain lun un mwet mweun lal, wi mwet mweun lalos, in mweuni siti lun Israel. Elos sruokya siti lun Ijon, Dan, Abel Beth Maacah, ac siti nukewa in acn Naphtali, yen kufwen mweun lalos oan we.
And Ben-hadad hearkened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5 Ke Tokosra Baasha el lohng ma sikyak inge, el tui ke musa se Ramah, ac el tiana aksafyela.
And it came to pass, when Baasha heard [it], that he left off the building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
6 Na Tokosra Asa el orani mwet in acn nukewa in Judah, ac sap elos in usla eot ac sak nukewa ma Baasha el orekmakin in acn Ramah, ac elos sang kuhlasak siti lun Geba ac Mizpah.
Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber of it, with which Baasha was building, and he built with it Geba and Mizpah.
7 In pacl se ingan mwet palu Hanani el som nu yorol Tokosra Asa ac fahk, “Ke sripen kom nget nu sin tokosra lun Syria ac tia filiya finsrak lom in LEUM GOD, pwanang mwet mweun lun tokosra Israel elos kaingla liki inpoum.
And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore hath the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thy hand.
8 Ya tia puslana mwet mweun lun Ethiopia ac Libya, oayapa pukanten pac chariot ac mwet kasrusr fin horse? Tuh mweyen kom filiya finsrak lom sin LEUM GOD, pa oru El tuh sot kutangla nu sum.
Were not the Cushites and the Lubims a numerous army, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thy hand.
9 LEUM GOD El arulana suiya faclu nufon in sang ku nu selos su pwaye insialos nu sel. Kom orala ouiya na lalfon, na pa ingela tokosrai lom ac fah mweun pacl nukewa.”
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of [them] whose heart [is] perfect towards him. In this thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10 Kas inge oru Asa el kasrkusrak sin mwet palu sac, ac sapkin in kapuri el. In pacl se pacna inge Asa el mutawauk in akkeokye kutu mwet uh.
Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for [he was] in a rage with him because of this [thing]. And Asa oppressed [some] of the people the same time.
11 Ma sikyak nukewa ke pacl Asa el tokosra, mutawauk nwe ke safla, simla oasr ke [Sramsram Matu ke Tokosra lun Judah ac Israel.]
And behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they [are] written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 In yac aktolngoul eu ke Asa el tokosra, nial ulla ke sie mas upa. Ne ouinge, el tiana forla in nget nu sin LEUM GOD in eis kasru sel, a el suk kasru sin mwet orek ono.
And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease [was] exceedingly [severe]: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
13 Yac luo toko na el misa,
And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14 ac el pukpuki inkulyuk eot se ma el taflela lal sifacna in Siti sel David. Elos mosrwela manol ke mwe akkeng ac oil keng in akoella nu ke pukpuki, ac elos tanak sie e lulap in akfulatyal.
And they buried him in his own sepulchers which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and divers kinds [of spices] prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him.
