< Sie Tokosra 12 >
1 Rehoboam el som nu Shechem, yen mwet nukewa in sruf epang elos fahsreni nu we in akwalyalak nu ke tokosra.
And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.
And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he had fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt; )
3 Mwet in sruf in acn epang sapla solalma, ac elos nukewa som nu yorol Rehoboam, ac fahk nu sel,
That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
4 “Solomon, papa tomom, el tuh arulana akkeokye kut ac filiya mwe utuk toasr facsr. Kom fin akmulalaye mwe utuk inge ac akfisrasryela nu sesr, na kut ac fah kulansupwekom ke inse pwaye.”
Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
5 El topkolos ouinge, “Kowos foloko tukun len tolu, na nga fah sot top luk nu suwos.” Na elos som.
And he said to them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.
El siyuk selos, “Top fuka kowos nunku mu fal nga in sang topuk mwe siyuk lun mwet uh?”
And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?
7 Ac elos fahk, “Kom fin lungse kasru mwet inge, kom sang sie top ma elos ac insewowo kac, na pacl nukewa elos ac kulansupwekom ke inse pwaye.”
And they spoke to him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant to this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.
8 Tusruktu Rehoboam el pilesru kas in kasru lun mwet matu, ac som nu yurin mwet fusr su matwalna ac welul kapkapak, ac inge elos mwet kasru lal.
But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that had grown up with him, and who stood before him:
9 El siyuk selos, “Kasru fuka lowos nu sik? Mea nga ac sang topuk mwet ma siyuk nga in akmulalaye mwe utuk lalos?”
And he said to them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?
10 Ac elos fahk, “Pa inge ma kom ac fahk nu selos uh: ‘Kuf srisrik soko ke pouk uh, yohk liki infulwen papa tumuk.’
And the young men that had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak to this people who spoke to thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter to us; thus shalt thou say to them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.
11 Fahk pac nu selos mu, ‘Papa tumuk el tuh filiya mwe utuk toasr nu fowos, a nga ac oru in toasr liki. El tuh puok kowos ke mwe sringsring, a nga ac sringil kowos ke mwe sringsring oasr osra kac!’”
And now though my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
12 Tukun len tolu, Jeroboam ac mwet nukewa folokla nu yorol Tokosra Rehoboam, oana ke el tuh fahk nu selos.
So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.
And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men’s counsel that they gave him;
14 in oana ma mwet fusr uh fahk su sel. El fahk, “Papa tumuk el filiya mwe utuk toasr nu fowos, a nga ac oru in toasr liki na. El puok kowos ke mwe sringsring, a nga ac sringil kowos ke mwe sringsring oasr osra kac!”
And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
15 Ma lungse lun LEUM GOD pa inge, tuh in sikyak oana ma El tuh fahk nu sel Jeroboam, wen natul Nebat, in kas lun Ahijah, mwet palu Shiloh.
Therefore the king hearkened not to the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16 Ke mwet uh liye lah tokosra el tiana lohngolos, na elos wowoyak ac fahk, “Tolulla David ac sou lal! Wanginna sripaltal nu sesr! Mwet Israel, kut folokelik nu yen sesr! Sang Rehoboam elan sifacna fosrngakunul!” Ouinge mwet Israel elos forla lainul tokosra,
So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not to them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thy own house, David. So Israel departed to their tents.
But as for the children of Israel who dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the forced labour; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to enter his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
19 In pacl sac me, mwet in sruf nukewa epang in Israel, elos alein na nu sin mwet leum in fwil natul David.
So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.
20 Ke pacl se mwet Israel lohngak lah Jeroboam el foloko Egypt me, elos solalma nu ke tukeni lalos, ac elos akwalyalak elan tokosra lalos mwet Israel. Sruf lal Judah mukena pa srakna orekma nu sin mwet in fwil natul David.
And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had come again, that they sent and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.
21 Ke Rehoboam el sun acn Jerusalem el pangoneni siofok oalngoul tausin mwet pisrla ke mweun in sruf lal Judah ac Benjamin. El nunku elan som mweuni sruf in acn epang, elan sifil folokonak ku lal in leum faclos.
And when Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, who were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Speak to Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
24 “Nimet mweuni mwet Israel wiowos. Kowos nukewa folokelik nu yen suwos an. Ma sikyak inge ma lungse luk!” Na elos nukewa akos ma LEUM GOD El sapkin, ac folokelik nu yen selos.
Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.
25 Tokosra Jeroboam el kuhlasak siti srisrik Shechem infulan eol in acn Ephraim, ac muta we ke kitin pacl. Na el som liki acn we ac kuhlasak pac siti srisrik Penuel.
Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt in it; and went out from there, and built Penuel.
26 El sifacna motkwe mu, “Inge tokosrai uh ku na in mau folokyang nu sin mwet in fwil natul David.
And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
27 Mwet inge fin fahsrna nu Jerusalem in orek kisa nu sin LEUM GOD ke Tempul, na insialos ac ku na in sifil forla nu sel Tokosra Rehoboam, leum lalos in Judah, na elos ac uniyuwi.”
If this people go up to offer sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again to their lord, even to Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.
28 Tukun el nunku ke ma inge, na el orala ma sruloala gold in luman cow mukul lukwa, ac fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Fal tari pacl ma kowos foroht forma nwe Jerusalem in alu we. Mwet Israel, pa inge god lowos, su uskowosme liki acn Egypt!”
Upon which the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said to them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt.
And he set the one in Bethel, and the other he placed in Dan.
30 Ma inge sie ma koluk, lah mwet uh elos alu nu sin ma sruloala inge in acn Bethel ac Dan.
And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even to Dan.
31 Jeroboam el oayapa musaela acn in alu fineol uh, ac el sulela mwet tol su tia ma in sruf lun Levi.
And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, who were not of the sons of Levi.
32 Jeroboam el oayapa oakiya sie len in kufwa nu selos, su oasr ke len aksingoul limekosr in malem akoalkosr, in oapana len in kufwa in acn Judah. El som nu Bethel ac orek kisa fin loang we nu sin ma sruloala gold in luman cow mukul lukwa ma el orala. Ac el filiya mwet tol in oru ma kunalos ke nien alu ma el tuh musaela in acn Bethel.
And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
33 Ac ke len aksingoul limekosr in malem akoalkosr, len se ma el sifacna oakiya, el som nu Bethel ac orek kisa fin loang uh, in akfulatye len in kufwa se su el oakiya nu sin mwet Israel.
So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast to the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.
