< Yohana 4 >
Accordingly when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard it said, "Jesus is making and baptizing more disciples than John,"
2 (ingabhwa Yesu muene abatisighe lepi bali bhanafunzi bha muene),
(though Jesus himself was not accustomed to baptize, but his disciples),
3 abhoki Yudea ni kulota Galilaya.
he left Judea and returned to Galilee.
4 Hivyo jhajhele muhimu kup'etela Samaria.
Now he had to pass through Samaria;
5 Ni kufika ku mji ghwa Samaria, ghwaghwikutibhwa Sikari, karibu ni lieneo ambalyo Yakobo ampelili mwanamunu Yusufu.
so he came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the piece of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
Ghwajhele muda ghwa pamusi.
Jacob’s Spring was there. So Jesus, tired out with his journey, was sitting thus by the spring.
7 N'dala n'samaria ahidili kunegha masi, ni Yesu akan'jobhela, “Nipelayi masi ninyuayi.”
It was about noon, and a woman of Samaria came to draw water.
8 Kwa ndabha bhanafunzi bha muene bhalotili kumjini kuh'emela kya kulya.
Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink" (for his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food.)
9 N'dala y'ola akan'jobhela, “Jhijhabhuli bhebhe Myahudi, kunisoma nene masi n'dala N'samaria, khenu kya kunywa?” Kwandabha Bhayahudi bhichangamana lepi ni Bhasamaria.
"How is it," answered the Samaritan woman, "that you who are a Jew ask a drink from me, a woman, and a Samaritan?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
10 Yesu akan'jibu, “Kama ngaumanyi karama jha K'yara, ni jhola jhaikujobhela 'Nipelayi masi,' ngaun'somili, na ngaakupelili masi gha uzima.”
"If you had known the free gift of God," Jesus answered, "and who it is that says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water."
11 N'dala akajibu, “Bwana ujhelepi ni lidoo lya kuneghela, ni kisima kitali. Ghwibeta kughakabha ndaku masi gha uzima?
"Sir," said the woman, "you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep; whence have you that living water?
12 Je bhebhe ndo mbaha, kuliko dadi jhitu Yakobo, ambajhe atupelili kisima ekhe ni muene ni bhanamunu pamonga ni mifugo ghya muene kunywa masi gha kisima ekhe?”
Surely you are not greater than our Father Jacob, who gave us the well, and used to drink from it himself, and his sons, and his cattle, too?"
13 Yesu akajibu, “Jhejhioha jha ibetakunywa masi agha ibetakukabha kiu kabhele,
"All who drink of this water," Jesus answered, "will thirst again;
14 lakini muene jha nibetakumpela nene masi anyuayi ibetalepi kukabha kiu kabhele. Badala yiake masi gha nibetakumpela ghibetakujha chemichemi jhajhibubujika hata milele.” (aiōn , aiōnios )
but whoever once drinks of the water that I will give him, shall never thirst any more, but the water that I will give him shall become a living spring of water within him, welling up into eternal life." (aiōn , aiōnios )
15 N'dala jhola akan'jobhela, “Bwana, nikaghas'oma masi aghu ili nisikabhi kiu kabhele, na nisihangaiki kuhida apa kunenga masi.”
"Sir!" exclaimed the woman, "give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty, nor come all this way to draw water."
16 Yesu akan'jobhela, “Lotayi kan'kutayi n'gosibhu, kisha kerebhutayi.”
Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and then come here."
17 N'dala akan'jobhela, “Nijhelepi ni n'gosi.” Yesu akajibu, “Ujobhili kinofu, 'Nijhelepi n'gosi;'
"I have no husband," answered the woman. "You are right in saying ‘I have no husband,’"Jesus said to her,
"for you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband; in this you have spoken truly."
19 N'dala akan'jobhela, “Bwana nibhona kujha bhebhe ndo nabii.
"I see, Sir, that you are a prophet," replied the woman.
20 Bha dadijhitu bhaabuduili pa kid'onda ekhe. Lakini muenga mwijobha kujha Yerusalemu ndiyo sehemu ambajho bhanu bhilondeka kuabudu.”
"Our forefathers worshiped in this mountain, yet you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship."
21 Yesu akan'jibu, “N'dala, niaminiayi, wakati wihida ambapo mwibetalepi kumwabudu dadi pa kid'onda ekhe au Yerusalemu.
"Woman, believe me," said Jesus, "that the hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
You are worshiping something you do not know. we know what we worship, for salvation comes from the Jews.
23 Hata ivyo, wakati ihida, na henu ujhele apa, wakati bhabhiabudu kweli bhibeta kumwabudu Dadi mu roho ni kweli, kwa ndabha Dadi akabhalonda bhanu bha namna ejhu kujha bhanu bha muene bhabhikamwabudu.
But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father is seeking such as his worshipers.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
25 N'dala akan'jobhela, “Nimanyili kujha Masihi ihida, (jhaikutibhwa Kristu). Ojhu pa ibetakuhida ibetakutujobhela ghoha.”
"I know," said the woman, "that Messiah is coming, who is called the Christ; when he has come he will tell us everything."
26 Yesu akan'jobhela, “Nene jhaghwijobha nani ndo nene.”
Jesus said to her, "I who am now talking to you, am he."
27 Wakati bhobhuobhu bhanafunzi bha muene bhakakerebhuka.
Just then his disciples came up, and were astonished that he was talking with a woman; yet not one of them asked him, "What do you want?" or "Why are you talking with her?"
28 Naha n'dala akabhuleka pala kibhegha kya masi ni kulota kumjini ni kubhajobhela bhanu,
Then the woman left her water-jar, and went away into the city and began saying to the people.
29 “Muhidayi mundangayi munu jha anijobhili mambo gha nene ghoha ghanighabhombili, je jhibhwesekana kujha ndo Kristu?”
"Come! see a man who has told me everything that I ever did. He can’t be the Christ, can he?"
30 Bhakabhoka ku mjini bhakahida kwa muene.
They left the city and set out to go to him.
31 Wakati ghwa pamusi bhanafunzi bha muene bhakan'sihi bhakajobha, “Rabi lyajhi kyakulya.”
Meanwhile the disciples kept urging him.
"Rabbi," they said, "eat something." But he answered, "I have food to eat of which you know nothing."
33 Bhanafunzi bhakajobhesana, ajhelepi munu jha andetili khenu kyokyoha kulya, “Je bhalatili?”
So the disciples began to say to one another, "Can any one have brought him something to eat?"
34 Yesu akabhajobhela, “Kyakulya kya nene ndo kubhomba mapenzi gha muene jha anitumili ni kutimisya mbombo jha muene.
Jesus said to them. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
35 Je, mwijobhalepi, 'Jhakhona miesi mihanu ni mavuno ghibetakujha tayari?' Nikabhajobhela mulangayi mig'onda kyaghijha tayari kwa mavuno!
Do you not say, ‘It wants yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you! Lift up your eyes and behold the fields, that they are already white for harvest.
The reaper is already receiving wages and gathering a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
For in this respect the saying is true, ‘One sows, another reaps.’
38 Nikabhatumili kuvuna ambakyo mkakihangaikili lepi, bhangi bhabhombili mbombo ni muenga mujhingili mu furaha jha kazi jha bhene.”
I sent you to reap a crop on which you have not toiled. Others have toiled, and you have reaped the benefit of their toil."
39 Bhasamaria bhingi mu mji bhola bha mwamini kwa ndabha jha taarifa jha n'dala jhola jhaashuhudili, “Jhaanijobhili mambo ghoha ghanighabhombili.”
Many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him because of the word of the woman when she declared, "He told me everything that I ever did."
So when the Samaritans arrived, they began asking him to remain with them; and he stayed there two days.
Then many more believed because of what he said, himself; and they told the woman.
42 bhakan'jobhela muene n'dala, “Tunaamini sio tu kwa maneno yak0o, kwa ndabha twebhene tup'eliki, ni henu tumanyili kujha hakika muene ndo mwokozi ghwa bhulimwengu.”
"We no longer believe because of what you said. for we ourselves have heard him, and we know that this is certainly the Saviour of the world."
43 Baada jha magono aghu mabhele, akabhoka ni kulota Galilaya.
After these two days Jesus went away from there into Galilee.
44 Kwandabha muene atangasili kujha nabii ajhelepi ni heshima mu hali jha muene.
For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 Bho ahidili kuh'oma Galilaya, Bhagalilaya bhakan'karibisya.
When he reached Galilee, however, the Galileans welcomed him, for they had seen all that he did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they, too, had been at the feast.
46 Ahidili kabhele Kana jha Galilaya okhu aghabadilisi masi kujha divai. Pajhele ni ofisa ambajhe mwana munu ajhele n'tamu okhu Kapernaumu.
So he came back again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. Now there was one of the king’s officers whose son was lying ill at Capernaum.
47 Bho ap'eliki Yesu ah'omili Yudea ni kulota Galilaya, akalota kwa Yesu ni kun'sihi aselelayi amponesi mwanamunu, ambajhe ajhele karibu kufwa.
When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and begged him to come down and heal his son who was lying at the point of death.
48 Ndipo Yesu akan'jobhela, “Muenga mukabelayi kubhona ishara ni maajabu mwibhwesya lepi kuamini.
Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you all see signs and wonders, you will not believe."
49 Nndongosi akajobha, “Bwana selelayi pasi kabla mwanabhangu kufwa.”
"Sir," said the king’s officer, "come down before my little boy dies."
50 Yesu akan'jobhela, “Lotayi mwanabhu mzima.” Munu jhola akaamini lilobhi lyaalijobhili Yesu ni kwilotela.
Jesus answered. "Go your way. Your son lives." And the man believed the word which Jesus spoke to him, and started to go home.
51 Bho iselela, bhatumishi bha muene bhakampokelela ni kun'jobhela mwanamunu ajhe n'sima.
And when he was already on his way down, his slaves met him, saying that his boy was living.
52 Hivyo akabhakhota ndo mda bholoki ghwa kabhili nafuu. Bhakajibu, “Golo muda ghwa saa saba homa jhagudeme.”
So he asked them at what hour he had begun mend. They answered, "Yesterday, about one o’clock, the fever left him."
53 Ndipo dadimunu akamanya kujha ndo muda bholabhola Yesu pa ajobhili, “Mwana ghwa jhobhi ndo n'sima.” Hivyo muene ni familia jha muene bhakaamini.
Then the father realized that it had left him at the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son lives," and he himself believed, and his whole household.
54 Ejhe jhajhele ndo ishara jha bhubhele jhaajhibhombili Yesu bhoahomili Yudea kul'ota Galilaya.
This is the second sign which Jesus performed, on returning from Judea to Galilee.
