< Yohana 6 >
1 Akhasekhe kha imbombo inchi, o Yesu alobile isekhemu incha nyanja ya Galilaya, yikhelangiwa nyanja ya Tiberia.
Afterward, Jesus crossed the sea of Galilee, also called of Tiberias;
2 Ululundamano luvakha lulekhukonga pakhuva vakhalolile embombo inchalekhovomba khuvale vatamu.
and a great multitude followed him, because they had seen the miraculous cures which he had performed.
3 U Yesu akhatoga khukyanya impakha uvupanda vwa khukyanya owa khewamba akhatama okhwa navakongi va mwene.
And Jesus went up on a mountain; where he sat down with his disciples.
4 (Vukhutesiwa khya Yesu, nulukhovokhelo ulwa Vayahudi lukhasogelile).
Now the passover, the Jewish festival, was near.
5 U Yesu akhinula amikho gamwene nukholola khukyanya nu khuvona uvumati vwa vamu vukhwincha khumwene, akhavomba Filipo, “Tuluta ndakhu khugula emikate ili avanu ava valye”?
Jesus, lifting up his eyes, and perceiving that a great multitude was flocking to him, said to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread to feed these people?
6 (Pakhuva o Yesu anchovile aga khwa Filipo alekhugela pakhuva omwene alumanyile ekhivomba).
(This he said to try him; for he knew himself, what he was to do.)
7 O Filipo akhanda, “Ata mikate egwa dinari sagekhale gikwela hata munu yumo okhupata ekhepande ekhedebe.”
Philip answered, Two hundred denarii would not purchase bread enough to afford every one a morsel.
8 U Andrea, oninie va vakongi va Yesu olokololwe va Simoni Petro akhavavula
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him,
9 o Yesu, “Khule nudemi ale no mikate gekhano ni somba ivele, pakhuva eye sayikwincha khuvanu avingi ndavandulo?”
Here is a boy who has five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?
10 U Yesu akhavavula, “Vatamisye avanu pasi” (Pale nelinyasi lingi amaeneo gala). Pakhuva avagosi vale okhuta elfu tano vakhatama pasi.
Jesus said, Make the men recline. Now, there was much grass in the place. So they reclined; in number about five thousand.
11 Pu Yesu akhatola emikate gekhano akhesasaya akhavapaza vavakhatamile. Pu akhavagavila isomba okhokongana nuluvotamile.
And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed them to those who had reclined. He gave them also of the fishes, as much as they would.
12 Avanu vavile vigwite, akhavavula avakongi va mwene, “Vilundanie ivipande vwa somba ili vile ukhusigala vwokwoni.”
When they had eat sufficiently, he said to his disciples, Gather up the fragments which remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Pu vakhalundanie ivitundu kumi na viwili, vipande ivwa mikate vikhano ifya shayiri- ifikhasa ziwe na vakhasigile.
They, therefore, gathered, and with the fragments which the people had left of the five barley loaves, they filled twelve baskets.
14 Avanu vakhavile valolile agavombile vakhanchova, “Lweli oyu venyamalago oviywincha nkelunga.”
When those men had seen the miracle which Jesus had wrought they said, This is certainly the prophet who comes into the world.
15 U Yesu avile agundyile ukhuta vinogwa okhumwibata ili vambombe ukhuva intwa va vene, akhavakwepa, puakhaluta khukhewamba mwene.
Then Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and carry him off, to make him king, withdrew again, alone, to the mountain.
16 Yevile lwakhemikhe, avakongi vawene vakhikha khu nyanja.
In the evening, his disciples went to the sea,
17 Vakhatogo mungalava valekho lovokha okhuluta khumwambi khu Kapernaumu. (Ekhisi yivile yingile o Yesu avile bado sinchile khuvene).
and having embarked, were passing by sea to Capernaum. It was now dark; and Jesus had not come to them.
18 Osekhe ogwa emepo eng'ali yele khukula, ne nyanja yilekhwendelela okhulama.
And the water was raised by a tempestuous wind.
19 Pu avakongi va mwene vavile vatovile amakasi ishirini ama thelathini, vakhambona o Yesu igenda pakyanya pa nyanja ikhogosogelela untumbwi, pu vakhadwada.
When they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they observed Jesus walking on the sea, very near the bark, and were afraid.
20 Pu Yesu akhavavula, “Nene mulekhe okhodwada.”
But he said to them, It is I, be not afraid.
21 Vakhavile tayali okhogega mutumbwi, pu tumbwi gukhafikha pakhelunga upuvalekhuluta.
Then they gladly received him into the bark; and the bark was immediately at the place whither they were going.
22 Esikhu eyekhakongile, ululundamano ulukhemile uvupande wa nyanja vakhavona otumbwi gusi pasi ugunge ila uguvakhatogile avakongi va Yesu ugosavakhatoge pakhuva avakongi vamwene vakhaluta vene.
On the next day, the people who were on the seaside, knowing that there had been but one boat there, and that Jesus went not into the boat with his disciples, who went alone,
23 (Pakhuva, pakhavile ne mitumbwi egegekhomile khu Tiberia karibu ne sekhemu eyivakhalile emikate pakhuva ombakha akhakhu minche emwalemi).
(other boats, however, arrived from Tiberias, nigh the place where they had eat, after the Lord had given thanks; )
24 Osekhe ululundamano lukhagundula khukhuta sio Yesu ama vakongi va mwene vakhale okho, vovene vakhatoga mu mitumbwi vakhaluta khu Kapernaumu vovikhondonda o Yesu.
knowing, besides, that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, embarked, and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 Akhasekhe vavile vambwene uluvafu olonge lwa nyanja vakhambuncha, “Rabbi winchile ndeli khono?”
Having found him on the opposite shore, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you come hither?
26 O Yesu akhanda, akhavavola, Lweli, lweli, mukhondonda one, sio pakhuva mukhagawene imiujiza, pakhuva mwalile emikate nu khwiguta.
Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw miracles, but because you eat of the loaves, and were satisfied.
27 Bekhela okhokhevombela ekhwakholwa ekhekhinangikha ila mukhevombele ekhyakhula ekhyakhudumu isikhu nchooni ekheikhovapa omwaleve va Adamu pakhuva u Nguluve Ubaba avekhile ung'uli pakyanya pavene.” (aiōnios )
Work not for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures through eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you; for to him the Father, that is, God, has given his attestation. (aiōnios )
28 Pu vakhambula, “Pukhenukhekhi khinogiwa okhovomba imbombo incha Nguluve?”
They asked him, therefore, What are the works which God requires us to do?
29 O Yesu akhanda, “Eye yu mbombo ya Nguluve: Khukhuta mumwedekhe omwene avasung'ile.”
Jesus answered, This is the work which God requires--that you believe on him whom he has sent forth.
30 Basi puvakhambula, “Ncho mbombo nchilekhu inchiyakhavuvomba pakhuta tukhonchedekha nukhunchivombela? Vuvomba ekhekhi?
They replied, What miracles, then, do you, that seeing it, we may believe you? What do you perform?
31 Avababa veto vakharile imanna khu polini, “Avapile emikate ukhukhuma khukyanya ili valwe.”
Our fathers eat the manna in the desert; as it is written, "He gave them bread of heaven to eat."
32 Pu Yesu akhavanda, “Lweli, lweli, si ve Musa uyakhavapile emikate ukhukhuma khukyanya, pakhuva Obaba vango ve ikhovapa emikate pakhuva gikhuma khukyanya.
Jesus then said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread of heaven: but my Father gives you the true bread of heaven:
33 Pakhuva okate ugwa Nguluve gukhuma khukyanya, nukhuleta uwumi nkerunga.
for the bread of God is that which descends from heaven, and gives life to the world.
34 Basi vakhambula, “Imbakha utupe ekate ego isiku nchooni.”
They said, therefore, to him, Master, give us always this bread.
35 U Yesu akhavavula, “Onene ikate gwa wumi, omwene uvikhwincha khulyune salava nenjala nukhwedekha salavona kiu tena.”
Jesus answered, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me, shall never hunger; and he who believes on me, shall never thirst.
36 Pakhuva nekhavavulile ukhuta, mumbwene, pusamukhwedekha.
But, as I told you, though you have seen me, you do not believe.
37 Vooni avavikhoma Obaba vikhwincha kholyune, vevoni uvikhwincha khulyune sanikhutaga sikhu khonji khabisa.
All the Father gives me, will come to me; and him who comes to me, I will not reject.
38 Pakhuva nikhile okhukhuma khukyanya, sio khwa khuvomba ovogane wango, pakhuva ovugane wamwene ovuakhasukhile.
For I descended from heaven to do, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 Nuvo vuvugane wango uvonesukhile, khukhuta nerekhe okhotaga hata yumo avamile, pakhuva nelavanchusya esikhu eyamwisho.
Now, this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none of all he has given me, but raise the whole again at the last day.
40 Pakhuva uvu vuvugane vwa Baba oveasukhile, khukhuta vevoni ovilola mwana nu khumwedekha ave nu wumi wa sikhu nchooni; nayune nikhonchosya esikhu eya mwisyo. (aiōnios )
This is the will of him who sent me, that whoever recognizes the Son, and believes on him, should obtain eternal life, and that I should raise him again at the last day. (aiōnios )
41 Pu avayahudi vakhasikhitikha ukhukongana nukhuta akhanchovile, “One nekate ugu gukhumile khukyanya.”
The Jews then murmured against him, because he said, I am the bread which descended from heaven:
42 Vakhanchova, “Oyo sio ve Yesu omwana va Yusufu, uve ubabaye nu mamaye tumanyile? Yivile ndakhekhi leno inchova, 'Nikhile okhukhuma khukyanya?”
and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How, then, does he say, I descended from heaven!
43 O Yesu akhanda, akhavavula, “Mulekhe ukhukuta igati yumwe.
Jesus answered, Murmur not amongst yourselves:
44 Asikholi umunu oyikhwincha kholione inave salusiwe nu Baba vango ovesung'ire, nayone yani khunchusya ekhegono khya mwisho.
no man can come to me, unless the Father, who has sent me, draw him; and him I will raise again at the last day.
45 Pakhuva yesimbiwe muvaragonchi, 'Yuvidemiwa nu Nguluve.' Khela uveapulikhe efundisye ukhukhuma khwa Baba, ikhwincha kholyune.
It is written in the prophets, "They shall be taught of God." Every one who has heard, and learned from the Father, comes to me.
46 Sio ukhuta khule munu uvambwene Obaba, pakhuva omwene oveakhumile khwa Nguluve- ambwene Obaba.
Not that any man, except him who is from God, has seen the Father.
47 Lweli, weli uvikhwekha alenu wumi uwa sikhu nchooni. (aiōnios )
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes on me has eternal life. (aiōnios )
49 Avababa venyo vakhalile imanna khurijangwa, na vakhafwa.
Your fathers eat the manna in the desert, and died.
50 Ugo gu kate ugugukhumile khukyanya, ili umunu ale enafasi eya mwene alekhe ukhufwa.
Behold the bread which descended from heaven, that whosoever eats of it may not die.
51 Une ne kate ugogutama ugogwikhile ukhukhuma khukyanya. Inave umunu ilwa okate ogwa itama esikhu nchooni, ukate uguyakha nikhomwa imbele gwando khunjila eya wumi wa khelunga.” (aiōn )
I am the living bread, which descended from heaven. Whosoever eats of this bread, shall live forever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world. (aiōn )
52 Avayahudi vakhakaranchava vavo khuvavo vakhanja okhusutana nukhunchova, “Umunu oyo iwesya ndeti okhutupa ombele ugwa mwene tulinchage?”
The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Pu Yesu akhavavula, “Lweli, lweli, mungalekhe ukhulya nu khunywa unkisa ugwa mwene, samukhave nu wumi igati ndyumwe.
Jesus, therefore, said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, you have not life in you.
54 Vevoni uvilya umbile gwang'o nu khunywa unkisa gwango ale nu wumi uwa sikhu nchoni, na yune yanikhunchosya esikhu eya mwisyo. (aiōnios )
He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him again at the last day: (aiōnios )
55 Pakhuva ombele gwango khwa kholwa khwa lweli, nu nkisa gwango mgasi ga lweli.
for my flesh is truly meat, and my blood is truly drink.
56 Umwene uvilwa ombele gwango nu khunywa unkisa gwango itama igati mulyune, na yune mumwene.
He who eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, abides in me, and I abide in him.
57 Inave Obaba uveale nu wumi via sukhile, ndolunitama pakhuva ya Baba, nu mwene ayitama pakhuva yango.
As the Father lives, who sent me; and I live by the Father; even so he, who feeds on me, shall live by me.
58 Ugo gukate ugogwikhwikha okhukhuma khukyanya, sio nduluva Baba vakhalya vakhafwa, omwene uvilye vakhafwa, omwene uvilye okate ogo alenu wumi owasikhu nchooni. (aiōn )
This is the bread which descended from heaven. It is not like what your fathers eat, for they died: he that eats this bread, shall live for ever. (aiōn )
59 O Yesu anchovile imbombo inchi vuale mulisinagogi avile ikhuvamanyesya khu Kapernaumu.
This discourse he spoke in the synagogue, teaching in Capernaum.
60 Pu vingi vavakongi va mwene vakhagapolekha aga, vakhanchova, “Ele limanyesyo ligumu veni iwesya okhupelela?”
Many of his disciples having heard it, said, This is hard doctrine; who can understand it?
61 O Yesu alumanyile ukhuta avakongi va mwene valekhumikha embombo eye, akhavavula akhata embombo eye yikhovapenja?
Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it, said to them, Does this offend you?
62 Yayiva ndakhekhi vomukhombo na omwana va Adamu voikhwikha ukhukhuma ukhwale ulutanchi?
What if you should see the Son of Man reascending thither, where he was before?
63 Ve Mepo ovikhomya uwumi. Ombele sagupata ekhenu khyokhyoni. Amamenyu aganenchovile khulyumwe ve mepo nu wumi.
It is the Spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing. The words which I speak to you, are spirit and life.
64 Pakhuva khulenavanu igati mulyumwe avasa vikhwedekha.” Pakhuva o Yesu alumanyile ukhukhuma palutanchi uvesiwesya okhwedekha umwene avale ikhobela.
But there are some of you who do not believe. (For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who he was that would betray him.)
65 Akhavavula, pakhuva khulugendo olu asikholi umu uvikhwincha kholyune pakhuva apeviwe nu Baba.”
He added, Therefore, I said to you, that no man can come to me, unless it be given him by my Father.
66 Akhasekhe akha avakongi vingi vakhavuyilesincho khusana pusavakhakongana nave tena.
From this time, many of his disciples withdrew, and accompanied him no longer.
67 O Yesu akhavavula vale kumi na wawili, “Je mwemwe munogwa okhokhega?”
Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away?
68 Simoni Petro akhanda, “Imbakha tuluta khwani khulyuve khuvule uwumi wa sikhu nchoni, (aiōnios )
Simon Peter answered, Master, to whom should we go? You have the words of eternal life: (aiōnios )
69 twedikhe nukhukera ukhuta uve ve mbaranche va Nguluve.”
and we believe, and know that you are the Holy One of God.
70 O Yesu akhavavula, “Je one sanikhavachagule omwe, pu paninie yumo mdugo?
Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve? yet one of you is a spy.
71 Leno pwalekhunchova okholenga khwa Yuda, omwana va Simoni Iskariote, pakhuva ale vemwene ale paninie na vale kumi na wawili, aveale ikhubera o Yesu.
He meant Judas Iscariot, son of Simon; for it was he who was to betray him, though he was one of the twelve.
