< Tito 1 >

1 Ri Pablo, patanil rech ri Dios xuqujeꞌ utaqoꞌn ri Jesucristo, sikꞌital apanoq rumal ri kojobꞌal, chaꞌtal rumal ri Dios che ukꞌutik ri qas tzij ri kukꞌutu jas kabꞌan chukꞌaslebꞌexik ri utz laj taq kꞌaslemal.
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is according to godliness;
2 Ri ukuꞌlibꞌal qakꞌuꞌx are ri jun alik kꞌaslemal, ri Dios ri man bꞌanal tzij taj ubꞌim loq are kꞌamajaꞌ katikitaj loq ri qꞌij junabꞌ. (aiōnios g166)
In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began; (aiōnios g166)
3 Xuqꞌalajisaj ri utzij qas pa ri uqꞌijal rumal ri utaqanik ri Dios qakolonel ri xya chwe chi kintzijoj.
But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior;
4 Che ri Tito qas nukꞌojol, ri junam qakojobꞌal rukꞌ. Yaꞌtaj toqꞌobꞌ chawe, toqꞌobꞌisan wach xuqujeꞌ ri jaꞌmaril rech ri Dios Tataxel, ri Ajawxel Cristo Jesús qakolonel.
To Titus, [my] own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
5 Xatinya kan pa ri tinimit Creta, rech kasukꞌumaj ri kajawataj ubꞌanik, xuqujeꞌ kaꞌkoj kꞌamal taq bꞌe pa taq ri tinimit, jetaq ri xinbꞌij kan chawe.
For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 Rajawaxik chi ri kꞌamal bꞌe man kariqitaj ta etzelal pa ri ukꞌaslemal, xa jun rixoqil, e kojonelabꞌ ri ralkꞌwaꞌl, maj etzelal katataj chike e nimanelabꞌ.
If any is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of riot, or disorderly.
7 Ri kꞌamal bꞌe pa ri uchak ri Dios rajawaxik chi man kariqitaj ta etzelal pa ri ukꞌaslemal man kunaꞌ ta nimal, man aninaq taj kayakataj royawal, man kaqꞌabꞌar taj, man tzukul chꞌoꞌj taj, man kajiqꞌjat ta che ri pwaq ri man uchꞌekoj taj.
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 Xane rajawaxik kuya kiwa xuqujeꞌ kachoch ri kesolinik, bꞌanal utzilal, kꞌo retaꞌmabꞌal, sukꞌ, tyoxalaj winaq, xuqujeꞌ qas kuchomaj ri kubꞌano.
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
9 Kꞌolol re ri sukꞌalaj tzij ri kꞌuttal choch, rech kakwinik kuꞌtaqchiꞌj nikꞌaj chik rukꞌ ri utz laj kꞌutuꞌn rech kuꞌchekꞌ ri kekꞌululaꞌnik.
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
10 Rumal cher sibꞌalaj e kꞌi man keniman taj xuqujeꞌ xaq japastaq kakitzijoj, e menkꞌetinelabꞌ, are qas kebꞌanow ri winaq ri kꞌo ketal che ri kityoꞌjal.
For there are many disorderly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11 Rajawaxik katzꞌapix ri upakichiꞌ waꞌ we winaq riꞌ, rumal cher tajin keꞌkitukij winaq ri e wokol pa ri kachoch; kakikꞌut jastaq ri man utz ta ukꞌutik chi resaxik pwaq chike ri winaq.
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of sordid gain.
12 Kꞌo jun chike ri e kiqꞌalajisanelabꞌ xubꞌij: Ri winaq ri kel pa ri tinimit Creta e bꞌanal taq tzij wi, itzel taq aꞌwaj, e saqꞌoribꞌ ri xaq kakipaqꞌ kipam.
One of themselves, [even] a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians [are] always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 Qas tzij kꞌu wi, rumal riꞌ ko chaꞌyajaꞌ, rech kuꞌtzir pa ri kikojobꞌal,
This testimony is true: wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14 rech man kakikoj ta ri menkꞌetibꞌal ke ri winaq aꞌj Israel, xuqujeꞌ man kakikoj ta ke ri winaq ri kakiqꞌat kibꞌ che ri qas tzij.
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men that turn from the truth.
15 Ronojel jastaq chꞌajchꞌoj chikiwach ri winaq ri e chꞌajchꞌoj, chikiwach kꞌu ri qꞌayinaq taq winaq xuqujeꞌ ri man kekojon taj, maj jun jastaq chꞌajchꞌoj rumal cher ri kakichomaj xuqujeꞌ ri kichomabꞌal qꞌayinaq chik.
To the pure all things [are] pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving [is] nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 Kakibꞌij chi ketaꞌm uwach ri Dios, rukꞌ kꞌu ri kichak kaqꞌalajinik chi man tzij taj ri kakibꞌij e xaꞌwibꞌal, man keniman taj, xa ta ne jun utz laj jastaq kekwin chubꞌanik.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and to every good work reprobate.
