1 Chanaꞌtaj chike chi rajawaxik kakimochꞌ kibꞌ xuqujeꞌ keniman chike ri e qꞌatal taq tzij, amaqꞌel kirayij ubꞌanik ri utza taq chak.
REMIND them to be subject to princes and those invested with authority, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work,
2 Man kuya taj kakibꞌij itzel taq jastaq chirij uwiꞌ jun chik, makikoj chꞌoꞌj chikixoꞌl nikꞌaj chik xane utz chenoꞌjinoq, kimochꞌo kibꞌ kukꞌ konojel ri winaq.
to slander no man, to be inoffensive, gentle, shewing all meekness to all men.
3 Ojer kanoq ri uj xuqujeꞌ man kꞌo ta qetaꞌmabꞌal, man kujniman taj, uj sachinaq xuqujeꞌ uj kꞌo kan xeꞌ raqan uqꞌabꞌ ri urayinik tyoꞌjal. Uj kꞌo pa ri etzelal xuqujeꞌ kꞌax kaqanaꞌ chike nikꞌaj chik, kaqetzelaj taq qibꞌ.
For we ourselves also in time past were thoughtless, disobedient, erroneous, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
4 Are kꞌut xukꞌut ribꞌ ri rutzilal xuqujeꞌ ri uloqꞌanik ri Dios qaKolonel kukꞌ konojel ri winaq,
But even then the kindness and love of God our Saviour to man shone forth,
5 xujukolo, man rumal ta ri qachak ri qabꞌanom, xane rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ rukꞌ ri chꞌajik xubꞌan kꞌakꞌ pa ri Uxlabꞌixel,
not for works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and by renovation of the Holy Spirit;
6 ri xutixixej pa qawiꞌ, rumal ri Jesucristo, ri qaKolonel.
which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 Rech kabꞌantaj sukꞌ chaqe rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ, kujux echaꞌnel, jacha ri kuꞌlibꞌal kꞌuꞌx re ri jun alik kꞌaslemal. (aiōnios g166)
that justified by his grace, we might become heirs in hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
8 We tzij riꞌ qas sukꞌ, kawaj kꞌut chi kakamulij karoxmulij ubꞌixik we jastaq riꞌ, rech ri kojonelabꞌ che ri Dios are kakilij ubꞌanik ri utza taq chak. We jastaq riꞌ sibꞌalaj utz xuqujeꞌ kꞌo kutayij chike ri winaq.
Faithful is the saying, and of these things I wish thee firmly to testify, that they who have believed in God be careful to be pre-eminent in good works. These are becoming and advantageous to men.
9 Man nim awibꞌ pa taq ri tzijonem ri maj kutayij xuqujeꞌ ri sikꞌin taq kibꞌiꞌ ri atiꞌt mam ri man kꞌo ta keꞌl wi, xuqujeꞌ ri chꞌoꞌj puꞌwiꞌ taq ri taqanik rech ri Moisés jeriꞌ rumal man kꞌo ta choqꞌaqꞌ che, xuqujeꞌ maj rumal kabꞌanik.
But foolish disquisitions, and genealogies, and disputes, and contentions about the law avoid; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 Chapixabꞌaj junmul kamul ri winaq ri kukoj jachoj ibꞌ chikixoꞌl ri alaxik kꞌa te riꞌ chawesaj bꞌik.
An heretical person after a first and second admonition reject;
11 Rumal cher waꞌ we winaq riꞌ xok itzel chomanik pa ujolom xuqujeꞌ xuqꞌat tzij puꞌwiꞌ chibꞌil ribꞌ.
knowing that such a one is perverted, and sinneth, being self-condemned.
12 We chintaq bꞌik ri Artemas awukꞌ o wine are ri Tíquico, chabꞌana toqꞌobꞌ kinaꞌwila pa ri tinimit Nicópolis, rumal cher nuchomam chi chilaꞌ kinwikꞌowisaj wi ri qꞌalaj.
When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, hasten to come to me unto Nicopolis: for there I have determined to pass the winter.
13 Chabꞌana toqꞌobꞌ chaꞌtoꞌ ri Zenas qꞌaxel tzij re ri taqanik xuqujeꞌ ri Apolos rech maj jas kajawataj chike.
Send forward diligently Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, that nothing may be wanting for them.
14 Ri qachiꞌl xuqujeꞌ ketaꞌmaj ubꞌanik ri utz taq chak are kajawatajik, rech jeriꞌ kewachinik.
And let those who belong to us learn also to be pre-eminent in good works for all necessary calls, that they be not without fruits.
15 Konojel ri e kꞌo wukꞌ kakitaq rutzil awach rutzil kiwach konojel ri kujkiloqꞌaj pa ri kojobꞌal. Ri toqꞌobꞌ kakanaj iwukꞌ iwonojel. Jeriꞌ
All that are with me salute thee. Salute those who love us with fidelity. Grace be with you all. Amen. This epistle was written to Titus appointed by suffrage first bishop of the church of Crete, from Nicopolis in Macedonia.
