Romanos 7

1 Qachalal, tajin kixinchꞌabꞌej ix ri iwetaꞌm ri utaqanik ri Moisés. ¿La man iwetaꞌm chi jun winaq kꞌo chuxeꞌ ri taqanik are kꞌaslik?

Remember ye not brethren (I speake to them yt know the lawe) how that the lawe hath power over a man as longe as it endureth?

2 Kinkoj jun kꞌambꞌejabꞌal noꞌj chiꞌwach. Ri kꞌulanik ixoq are kꞌaslik nukꞌtal rukꞌ ri rachajil rumal ri taqanik, we kꞌu kakam ri rachajil, ri ixoq kel kanoq chuxeꞌ ri taqanik ri e nukꞌuwinaq rukꞌ ri rachajil.

For the woman which is in subieccion to a man is bounde by the lawe to the man as longe as he liveth. Yf the man be deed she is lowsed from the lawe of the man.

3 Rumal riꞌ, ri ixoq we kakꞌuliꞌ rukꞌ chi jun achi are kꞌas na ri rachajil, kux ajmak rumal kuꞌx e kebꞌ rachajil. Are kꞌu we kakam ri rachajil, ri ixoq kel kan chuxeꞌ ri taqanik, xuqujeꞌ man kamakun taj we kakꞌuliꞌ chi ne rukꞌ jun achi.

So then yf whill the man liveth she couple her selfe with another man she shalbe counted a wedlocke breaker. But yf the man be deed she is fre fro the lawe: so that she is no wedlocke breaker though she couple her selfe with another man.

4 Je xuqujeꞌ ri ix wachalal, xixkamik pa ri taqanik pa ri utyoꞌjal ri Cristo ri xripik, rech jeriꞌ kixux rech ri xkꞌastajisax chkixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ. Rech jeriꞌ kꞌo kaqatayij che ri Dios.

Even so ye my brethren are deed concerninge the lawe by the body of Christ yt ye shuld be coupled to another (I meane to him that is rysen agayne fro deeth) that we shuld bringe forth frute vnto God.

5 Nabꞌe, are ri najtir qakꞌaslemal kabꞌan kan rech pa qawiꞌ, ri itzel taq rayinik ri xukꞌasuj ri taqanik rech jeriꞌ ri qatyoꞌjal, xux rech kamikal.

For when we were in the flesshe the lustes of synne which were stered vppe by ye lawe raygned in oure membres to bringe forth frute vnto deeth.

6 Kamik kꞌut man uj kꞌo ta chi chuxeꞌ ri taqanik, jeriꞌ rumal cher xujkam pa ri taqanik, xa jeriꞌ kujpatanij pa ri kꞌakꞌ ajawarem rech ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel, man chuxeꞌ taj ri taqanik.

But now are we delivered fro the lawe and deed fro that whervnto we werein bondage that we shuld serve in a newe conversacion of ye sprete and not in ye olde conversacion of the letter.

7 ¿Jas kꞌu ri kaqabꞌij? ¿La are kꞌu mak ri taqanik? Man are taj. Xwi kaqabꞌij chi we ta mat rumal ri taqanik mat xinwil ri numak, mat xinwetaꞌmaj jas riꞌ ri urayixik chi jun jastaq chik ri man rech ta jun, we ta mat kubꞌij ri taqanik: “Marayij ri man awech taj.”

What shall we saye then? is ye lawe synne? God forbid: but I knewe not what synne meant but by the lawe. For I had not knowne what lust had meant excepte the lawe had sayde thou shalt not lust.

8 Ri mak kꞌut xnimatajik rumal ri taqanik, xukꞌasuj pa ri wanimaꞌ ronojel uwach itzel taq rayinik. Jeriꞌ, rumal chi we ta mat kꞌo ri taqanik, mat xukꞌut ribꞌ riꞌ ri mak.

But synne toke an occasion by the meanes of the commaundement and wrought in me all manner of concupiscece. For with out the lawe synne was deed.

9 Ojer kanoq man in kꞌo taj chuxeꞌ ri taqanik. Are xpe ri taqanik, xyaꞌtaj ukꞌaslemal ri makaj, ri in kꞌut xinkamik.

I once lived with out lawe. But when the commaundement came synne revyved and I was deed.

10 Xinwilo chi ri taqanik ri chinuwach in kuya nukꞌaslemal, xuya kamikal chwe.

And the very same comaundement which was ordeyned vnto lyfe was founde to be vnto me an occasion of deeth.

11 Ri makaj rumal ri taqanik xinumenkꞌetij, rumal riꞌ xinukamisaj.

For synne toke occasion by the meanes of the comaundement and so disceaved me and by the selfe commaundement slewe we.

12 Kꞌisbꞌal rech kaqabꞌij chi ri taqanik sibꞌalaj Tyox, sukꞌ xuqujeꞌ utz.

Wherfore the lawe is holy and the commaundement holy iust and good.

13 ¿La are kꞌu xux utzilal chinuwach in ri kamikal? Man je ta riꞌ, xane are ri makaj rech kukꞌut ribꞌ chi are mak, xinukamisaj rukꞌ ri utzilal, rech rumal ri taqanik ri makaj xux itzel.

Was that then which is good made deeth vnto me? God forbyd. Naye synne was deeth vnto me that it myght appere how that synne by the meanes of that which is good had wrought deeth in me: that synne which is vnder the commandemet myght be out of measure synfull.

14 Qetaꞌm chi ri Taqanik rech ri uxlabꞌal, are kꞌu in xa in tyoꞌj, in kꞌayital pa uqꞌabꞌ ri mak.

For we knowe that the lawe is spirituall: but I am carnall solde vnder synne

15 Rumal riꞌ man kinchꞌobꞌ taj ri kinbꞌano. Man kinbꞌan taj ri kawaj kinbꞌano, ri kinwetzelaj ubꞌanik, are kinbꞌano.

because I wote not what I doo. For what I wold that do I not: but what I hate that do I.

16 We are kinbꞌan ri man kawaj taj kinbꞌano, tajin kinbꞌij riꞌ chi utz ri taqanik.

Yf I do now that which I wolde not I graute to the lawe that it is good.

17 Xaq jeriꞌ man in ta chik kinbꞌanow ri jastaq riꞌ, xane are ri makaj ri kꞌo chwe.

So then nowe it is not I that do it but synne that dwelleth in me.

18 Xuqujeꞌ wetaꞌm chi man kꞌo ta ri utzilal pa ri nutyoꞌjal, pune kawaj kinbꞌan ri utzilal, man kinkwin taj chubꞌanik.

For I knowe that in me (that is to saye in my flesshe) dwelleth no good thinge. To will is present with me: but I fynde no meanes to performe that which is good.

19 Rumal riꞌ man kinbꞌan taj ri utzilal ri kawaj kinbꞌano, xane are kinbꞌan ri etzelal ri man kawaj taj kinbꞌano.

For I doo not yt good thinge which I wold: but that evill do I which I wolde not.

20 We kꞌu are kawaj kinbꞌan ri man kawaj taj kinbꞌano, man in ta chi riꞌ tajin kinbꞌanowik, xane are ri etzelal ri kꞌo pa wanimaꞌ.

Finally yf I do that I wolde not then is it not I that doo it but synne that dwelleth in me doeth it.

21 Xaq jeriꞌ are kawaj kinbꞌan ri utzilal, kinwil ri taqanik ri kubꞌij chi ri etzelal pa wanimaꞌ in kꞌo wi xuqujeꞌ are tajin kinwilij ubꞌanik.

I fynde then by the lawe that when I wolde do good evyll is present with me.

22 Pa ri ukꞌuꞌx ri wanimaꞌ kinkiꞌkotebꞌej ri utaqanik ri Dios.

I delite in the lawe of God concerninge the inner man.

23 Kinwil kꞌut chi pa ri nutyoꞌjal kꞌo chi jun taqanik, are taqanik rech ri makaj. We taqanik riꞌ kakitij chuqꞌabꞌ rukꞌ ri taqanik rech ri nuchomabꞌal, in utzꞌapim.

But I se another lawe in my membres rebellinge agaynst the lawe of my mynde and subduynge me vnto the lawe of synne which is in my membres.

24 ¡Kꞌax we! ¿Jachin kakwinik kintoꞌw chech waꞌ we tyoꞌjal rech kamikal?

O wretched man yt I am: who shall delyver me fro this body of deeth?

25 Xa kꞌu kintyoxin che ri Dios, ri xinukiro pa Jesucristo ri Ajawxel. In rukꞌ ri nuchomabꞌal kinpatanij ri utaqanik ri Dios, are kꞌu ri nutyoꞌjal are kupatanij ri taqanik rech ri mak.

I thanke God thorow Iesus Christ oure Lorde. So then I my silfe in my mynde serve the lawe of God and in my flesshe the lawe of synne.
