< Romanos 6 >
1 ¿Jas kꞌu kaqabꞌij? ¿La are kꞌu kaqilij ubꞌanik ri mak rech katixix ri toqꞌobꞌ kapetik?
What should we say then? Should we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 ¡Man je ta riꞌ! Ri uj, ri uj kaminaq chik chubꞌanik ri mak, ¿la kujkwin kꞌu ri xaq jeꞌ kujkꞌojiꞌk chupam?
Absolutely not. We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
3 ¿La man kꞌu iwetaꞌm chi qonojel ri xbꞌan qaqasanaꞌ rech kujkꞌojiꞌk rukꞌ ri Cristo Jesús, xbꞌan qaqasanaꞌ pa ri ukamikal?
Or do you not know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4 Rumal ri qasanaꞌ xubꞌan chaqe chi xujmuqiꞌ rukꞌ ri Cristo pa ri ukamikal, rech jeriꞌ jetaq ri xubꞌan ri Cristo xkꞌastaj rukꞌ ri ukwinem ri Tataxel, xuqujeꞌ uj kaqataqej na jun kꞌakꞌ kꞌaslemal.
We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5 Qas tzij, we xa jun qabꞌanik rukꞌ ri Cristo are xujkamik, xa jun xuqujeꞌ riꞌ qabꞌanik rukꞌ are kakꞌastaj qawach.
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
6 Qetaꞌm chi ri ojer qakꞌaslemal xrip rukꞌ ri Cristo, rech jeriꞌ ri qatyoꞌjal rech mak xtukitajik, man uj patanil ta chi kꞌu rech ri mak.
knowing this, that our old self was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
7 Rumal cher ri winaq ri kaminaq chik maj chi ukwinem ri mak puꞌwiꞌ.
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 We kꞌu kujkam rukꞌ ri Cristo, kaqakojo chi kujkꞌasiꞌk xuqujeꞌ na rukꞌ Areꞌ.
But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9 Qetaꞌm chi ri Cristo xkꞌastaj chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ, jeriꞌ man kakam ta chik junmul. Rumal cher ri kamikal maj chi ukwinem puꞌwiꞌ Areꞌ.
knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him.
10 Xa junmul, rukꞌ ri ukamikal xuchup ronojel ri mak, xuqujeꞌ xkꞌasiꞌk chibꞌe qꞌij saq rech kuya uqꞌij ri Dios.
For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11 Ix xuqujeꞌ, chiwilaꞌ chi ix kaminaqibꞌ chik jeriꞌ man kuya ta chik kixmakunik, xane ix kꞌaslik rech kiya uqꞌij ri Dios pa Cristo Jesús.
In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Xaq jeriꞌ man kiya ta bꞌe che ri makaj kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ri ityoꞌjal rech man kinimaj ta chik ri itzel taq urayinik.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 Man kitzuj ta ri ityoꞌjal che ri makaj rech kubꞌan ri man sukꞌ taj, xane chitzuju iwibꞌ che ri Dios, je ta ne ri kꞌa te xixel loq pa ri kamikal xixpe pa ri kꞌaslemal, chijacha ri ityoꞌjal rech kux rech sukꞌal.
Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 Jeriꞌ, man kakwin taj ri makaj kubꞌan rech piꞌwiꞌ, rumal cher man ix kꞌo ta chik chuxeꞌ ri taqanik xane ix kꞌo chik pa ri toqꞌobꞌ.
For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
15 ¿Jas kꞌu kaqabꞌij? ¿La kujmakun kꞌut rumal ri man uj kꞌo ta chik chuxeꞌ ri taqanik, xane uj kꞌo chik pa ri toqꞌobꞌ? Man je ta riꞌ.
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Absolutely not.
16 ¿La man iwetaꞌm chi we kijach iwibꞌ che jachinaq rech kinimaj, ix patanil rech ri winaq ri kinimaj, we kꞌu are ri makaj rech kamikal o are ne ri nimanik rech sukꞌal?
Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
17 Xa tyox che ri Dios rumal pune ojer ix patanil kan rech ri makaj, chanim inimam chik ri kꞌutuꞌn ri xyaꞌtaj chiꞌwe.
But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
18 Xixesataj loq pa uqꞌabꞌ ri makaj, kamik ix patanil chi rech ri sukꞌal.
Being made free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
19 In kintzijon iwukꞌ pa kitzij winaq rumal wetaꞌm chi xaq xwi waꞌ kixkwinik kichomaj. Nabꞌe kanoq kitzuj ri ityoꞌjal chupatanixik ri chꞌulujil, ri kixukꞌam bꞌik pa ri etzelal, kamik kꞌut chitzuju ri ityoꞌjal chupatanixik ri sukꞌal ri kakꞌaman bꞌik pa ri Tyoxalaj kꞌaslemal.
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.
20 Ojer are ix patanil kan rech ri makaj, maj rech ri sukꞌal chiꞌwe.
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 ¿Jas kꞌu ri xikꞌamawaꞌj kan nabꞌe che ri xibꞌano? Are xikꞌamawaꞌj ri jastaq ri kixkꞌix chik che kamik, we jastaq riꞌ kakꞌaman bꞌik pa kamikal.
What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
22 Kamik kꞌut man ix kꞌo ta chik pa uqꞌabꞌ ri makaj, ix patanil chi rech ri Dios, xuqujeꞌ kikꞌamawaꞌj iwe ri tyoxalaj kꞌaslemal ri kixukꞌam bꞌik pa jun alik kꞌaslemal. (aiōnios )
But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of everlasting life. (aiōnios )
23 Jeriꞌ rumal cher ri tojbꞌal rech ri mak are ri kamikal, ri usipanik kꞌu ri Dios are ri jun alik kꞌaslemal pa Cristo Jesús, ri Ajawxel. (aiōnios )
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios )
