Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus that are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

2 Toqꞌobꞌ xuqujeꞌ jaꞌmaril chiꞌwe rech ri Dios Tataxel xuqujeꞌ rech ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.

grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Kintyoxin che ri Dios are kixnaꞌtaj chwe.

I thank my God on every remembrance of you―

4 Kinbꞌan chꞌawem pa iwiꞌ rukꞌ kiꞌkotemal.

always in every supplication of mine for you all, making my supplication with joy―

5 Jeriꞌ rumal ixkꞌolinaq loq pa ri utz laj utzij ri Dios xchapleꞌtaj loq are xixkojonik kꞌa pa taq we qꞌij kamik riꞌ.

for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day till now:

6 Qas uchapom na kꞌuꞌx chi ri majininaq loq ri utz laj chak pa iwanimaꞌ, kutzꞌaqatisaj na kꞌa pa ri qꞌij rech ri upetibꞌal ri Jesucristo.

being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you, will carry it on till the day of Jesus Christ;

7 Sibꞌalaj utz we jeriꞌ kinchoman in chiꞌwe, jeriꞌ rumal ix kꞌo pa wanimaꞌ xuqujeꞌ kixnaꞌtaj chwe are in kꞌo pa cheꞌ xuqujeꞌ are in kꞌo chikiwach ri qꞌatal taq tzij chuqꞌalajisaxik ri utz laj tzij, iwonojel kꞌo iwe che ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios ri uyaꞌom chwe.

as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I say I have you in my heart; both in my bonds and in my defense and confirmation of the gospel, I say I have you all in my heart as being joint partakers of my grace.

8 Rumal cher karil ri Dios chi sibꞌalaj ixnuloqꞌ rukꞌ ri uloqꞌanik ri Cristo Jesús xuqujeꞌ kixinbꞌisoj.

For God is my witness how ardently I love you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

I also pray for this, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all understanding,

in order that you may distinguish things that differ, to the end that you may be pure and blameless till the day of Christ,

11 Xuqujeꞌ rech ixnojinaq chubꞌanik ri utzilal rech jeriꞌ kiya unimal uqꞌij xuqujeꞌ bꞌixonem che ri Dios.

being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which fruit is by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

12 Qachalal, kawaj kiwetaꞌmaj chi ronojel ri xkꞌulmataj wukꞌ xubꞌano chi xnimar utzijoxik ri utz laj tzij.

But I wish you to know, brethren, that the things which have befallen me have turned out rather to the advancement of the gospel;

13 Qas xqꞌalajinik chikiwach ri e chajil taq rech ri nimalaj ja rech ri qꞌatal tzij xuqujeꞌ chikiwach konojel chi xinkoj pa cheꞌ xa rumal rech ri Cristo.

so that my bonds which are for Christ have become known to be such in all the palace, and in all other places;

14 Tyox chi xintzꞌapiꞌk pa cheꞌ, sibꞌalaj e kꞌi chike ri alaxik ri jeqel kikꞌuꞌx che ri Ajawxel, xkichapleꞌj utzijoxik ri utzij ri Dios man rukꞌ ta xibꞌin ibꞌ.

and most of the brethren in the Lord, having confidence in my bonds, are more bold to speak the word without fear.

15 E kꞌo jujun kakitzijoj ri Cristo rumal cher kꞌax kakinaꞌ chaqe, e kꞌo chi nikꞌaj xa rumal sibꞌalaj utz kanimaꞌ.

Some, indeed, preach the Christ, because of envy and a contentious disposition, and some because of good-will.

16 Ri kꞌisbꞌal wok kakitzijoj ri Cristo rumal cher kinkiloqꞌaj, rumal cher ketaꞌm chi in in chaꞌtal apanoq chuqꞌalajisaxik ri utz laj taq tzij.

These do it from love, because they know that I am set for the defense of the gospel;

17 Ri kakitzijoj ri Cristo rumal cher kꞌax kakinaꞌ chwe, man qas ta rukꞌ rutzil kanimaꞌ kakibꞌano, are kakaj katzꞌaqatisax ri kꞌax chwij pa cheꞌ.

those preach Christ from a contentious disposition, not sincerely, thinking that they will add affliction to my bonds.

18 ¿Jas kꞌu kaqabꞌij? Jas ta bꞌa lo rumal tajin katzijox ri Cristo we kꞌu qas rukꞌ chꞌajchꞌoj animaꞌaj o man rukꞌ ta neꞌ, are waꞌ kayoꞌw nukiꞌkotemal in. Jeꞌ, kinkiꞌkot na rumal rech.

What difference does this make? Christ is, nevertheless, preached in every way, whether in pretense or in truth; and in this I rejoice, yes, and I will rejoice:

19 Rumal cher wetaꞌm chi ri ichꞌawem xuqujeꞌ ri utobꞌanik ri Uxlabꞌixel rech ri Cristo, are kinesan na bꞌi waral.

for I know that this will result in my benefit through your supplication, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

20 Ri kurayij na kꞌuꞌx are chi man kel ta nukꞌixibꞌal, xane rukꞌ ronojel kuꞌlibꞌal kꞌuꞌx we kinkamik o kinkꞌasiꞌk, kayaꞌtaj na uqꞌij ri Cristo pa ri nutyoꞌjal.

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but with all boldness, as at all times, so even now, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

21 Rumal cher chwe in ri kꞌaslem are Cristo, ri kamikal chꞌekoj riꞌ.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

22 We xaq jeꞌ kinkꞌasiꞌ na cho we uwachulew, xa kꞌa kꞌo na kintayij riꞌ che ri Dios, man kinriq ta kꞌut jachin chike kinchaꞌo.

But if this, my life in the flesh, would be profitable for my work in the ministry, verily, what I should choose I know not.

23 Ukobꞌchal we jastaq riꞌ utz chwe, kawaj kineꞌek rukꞌ ri Cristo rumal sibꞌalaj jeꞌlik ri kꞌolem rukꞌ.

I am in a strait between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better:

24 Xa kꞌu rumal iwe kinkanaj na kanoq cho ri uwachulew.

yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

25 Qas uchapom na kꞌuꞌx, wetaꞌm chi kinkꞌojiꞌ na iwukꞌ rech jeriꞌ kintobꞌan rukꞌ ri ikiꞌkotemal xuqujeꞌ pa ri ikojobꞌal.

And of this I feel assured, that I shall remain and continue among you all for your advancement and joy in the faith,

26 Rech jeriꞌ ri ikiꞌkotemal pa Cristo kanimar na rumal we, are kiwil chinuwach junmul.

that your rejoicing in Christ Jesus may become more abundant through me by my being present among you again.

27 Xaq xwi kinchilibꞌej chiꞌwe je chixnoꞌjinoq jetaq ri kubꞌij ri utz laj tzij rech ri Cristo, rech pune in kꞌo iwukꞌ o man in kꞌo ta neꞌ, katataj na chi ko ix kꞌolik pa ri uxlabꞌal tajin kikoj ichuqꞌabꞌ pa ri kojobꞌal chutzijoxik ri utz laj tzij.

Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Christ, that, whether I come and see you, or be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving together for the faith of the gospel,

28 Makixiꞌj ta iwibꞌ chike ri kakibꞌan kikꞌulel chiꞌwe, rumal cher ri utz laj tzij kubꞌan na chi kasach kiwach we winaq riꞌ, are kꞌu chiꞌwe ix ri utz laj tzij are jun kꞌutbꞌal re ri kolotajem ri kape rukꞌ ri Dios.

and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

29 Rumal cher ri ix man xwi ta yaꞌtal bꞌe chiꞌwe kixkojon che ri Cristo, xane kiriq xuqujeꞌ kꞌax rumal rech.

For to you it is given in behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but, also, to suffer for him,

30 Rumal tajin kikoj ichuqꞌabꞌ chubꞌanik ri chꞌoꞌj ri xiwilo xinbꞌan ojer xuqujeꞌ tajin kinbꞌan kamik riꞌ.

since you have the same conflict that you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
