After six days, Jesus took Peter, and James, and John, brother of James, apart to the top of a high mountain,

and was transfigured in their presence, His face shone as the sun; and his raiment became white as the light.

And presently appeared to them Moses and Elijah conversing with him.

Peter, upon this, addressing Jesus, said, Master, it is good for us to stay here; let us make here, if you will, three booths; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

While he was speaking, behold! a bright cloud covered them, and out of the cloud a voice came, which said, This is my Son, the beloved in whom I delight; hear him.

The disciples, hearing this, fell upon their faces, and were greatly frightened.

But Jesus came and touched them, saying, Arise; be not afraid.

Then lifting up their eyes, they saw none but Jesus.
9 Tajin keqaj loq puꞌwiꞌ ri juyubꞌ are xubꞌij ri Jesús chike: Man kitzijoj ta chi che jun winaq ri xiwilo, kꞌa chinkꞌastaj na, in ri uKꞌojol ri Achi, kꞌa te riꞌ utz kitzijoj.
As they went down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell no person what you have seen, until the Son of Man rise from the dead.
10 Ri tijoxelabꞌ xkita che ri Jesús: ¿Jas che kakibꞌij ri aꞌjtijabꞌ rech ri taqanik chi nabꞌe na kape na ri Elías?
Then the disciples asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elijah must come first?

Jesus answering, said to them, To consummate the whole, Elijah, indeed, must come first.

But I tell you, Elijah is come already, though they did not acknowledge him, but have treated him as they pleased. Thus they will treat the Son of Man also.

Then the disciple understood, that he spoke concerning John the Immerser.
14 Are xoꞌpan kukꞌ ri winaq, xqebꞌ jun achi rukꞌ ri Jesús, xukiꞌk choch xubꞌij che:
When they were come to the multitude, a man came to him, who kneeling, said,
15 Ajawxel, toqꞌobꞌisaj la uwach le nukꞌojol. Kabꞌan kꞌax che, kꞌi mul katzaq pa qꞌaqꞌ xuqujeꞌ pa jaꞌ.
Sir, have pity on my son; for he is grievously distressed with lunacy; often ge falls into the fire, and often into the water,
16 Xinkꞌam loq chikiwach le tijoxelabꞌ la, man xekwin taj xkikunaj.
and I presented him to your disciples; but they could not cure him.
17 Ri Jesús xubꞌij: ¡Ri ix, ix itzel taq winaq, maj ikojobꞌal! ¿La ronojel mul in kꞌo iwukꞌ qaj iwukꞌ? ¿La ronojel mul kinkochꞌ ri kibꞌano? Kꞌa te riꞌ xubꞌij: Chikꞌama loq ri ala.
Jesus answering, said, O unbelieving and perverse race! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me.
18 Ri Jesús xresaj bꞌik ri itzel uxlabꞌal ri kꞌo che ri ala, qas che ri qꞌotaj riꞌ ri ala xkunatajik.
Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and he came out: and the lad was instantly cured.

At that time the disciple came to him privately, saying, Why could not we expel the demon?

Jesus answered, Because of your unbelief; for, indeed, I say to you, if you had faith, though but as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mountain, Remove to yonder place, and it would remove: yes, nothing would be impossible to you.
21 /We itzel uxlabꞌal riꞌ man kel ta bꞌik we man kibꞌan chꞌawem xuqujeꞌ we man kibꞌan qꞌipoj waꞌim./
This kind, however, is not dispossessed, unless by prayer and fasting.

While they remained in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of Man is to be delivered up to men,

who will kill him: but the third day he shall be raised again. And they were grieved exceedingly.

When they were come to Capernaum, the collectors came and asked Peter, Does not your teacher pay the didrachma?
25 Jeꞌ, kutojo, xubꞌij ri Pedro. Are xok bꞌik ri Pedro pa ri ja, ri Jesús xnabꞌej chutayik che: Simón, ¿jas kabꞌij at? Ri e nimaꞌq taq taqanelabꞌ ¿jachin chike kakitoqꞌij wi ri alkabal, chike ri e kalkꞌwaꞌl o chike konojel ri winaq?
He said, Yes. Being come into the house, before he spoke, Jesus said to him, What is your opinion, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth exact tribute or custom? from their own sons, or from others?

Peter answered, From others. Jesus replied, The sons then are exempted.

Nevertheless, lest we shall give them offense, go to the sea and throw a line, draw out the first fish that is hooked, and, having opened its mouth, you shall find a stater; take that, and give it to them for me and you.
