< Mateo 15 >

1 E kꞌo kꞌu jujun chike ri fariseos xuqujeꞌ jujun aꞌjtijabꞌ rech ri Taqanik, ri e petinaq pa Jerusalén, xkita che ri Jesús:
Then some Scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem addressed him, saying,
2 ¿Jas che ri atijoxelabꞌ man kakinimaj taj ri naqꞌatajibꞌal ri kibꞌanom kan ri e qamam ojer? ¿Jas che man kakichꞌaj taj ri kiqꞌabꞌ are kewaꞌik?
Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders; for they was not their hands before meals.
3 Ri Jesús xubꞌij chike: ¿Jas che man kinimaj ta ix ri utaqanik ri Dios rumal unimaxik ri inaqꞌatajibꞌal?
Jesus answering, saud to them, Why do you yourselves by your tradition, transgress the commandment of God?
4 Ri Dios xubꞌij: Nim chaꞌwila ri atat rachiꞌl ri anan, xuqujeꞌ ri karetzelaj uwach ri utat rachiꞌl ri unan, taqal che kakamisaxik. Ri Dios xuqujeꞌ xubꞌij: xapachin ri man nim ta keril ri utat unan yaꞌtal che kakamisaxik.
For God has commanded, saying, "Honor father and mother"; and "Whosoever reviles father or mother, let him be punished with death."
5 Ri ix kꞌut kibꞌij chi jun alkꞌwaꞌlaxel utz we kubꞌij che ri utat xuqujeꞌ ri unan: Man kinkwin taj kintobꞌan ukꞌ alaq, rumal cher xintzuj uyaꞌik che ri Dios ronojel ri nujastaq rachiꞌl ri nurajil.
But you affirm, If a man say to father or mother, I devote whatever of mine shall profit you,
6 We jeriꞌ kubꞌan ri alkꞌwaꞌlaxel, man tajin ta kunimaj riꞌ ri utat. Ri ix man tajin ta kichꞌobꞌ ri utaqanik ri Dios, rumal are tajin kinimaj ri inaqꞌatajibꞌal.
he shall not afterward honor by his assistance, his father or his mother. Thus, by your tradition, you annul the commandment of God.
7 Kawach taq winaq, kꞌo rumal xutzijoj loq iwij ri Isaías are xubꞌij:
Hypocrites, well do you suit the character which Isaiah gave of you, saying,
8 We winaq ri keꞌl pa we tinimit riꞌ, kakibꞌij chi kinkinimaj, qas tzij kꞌut kinbꞌij xa ta ne junmul kakichomaj wij.
"This people honor me with their lips. though their heart is estranged from me.
9 Maj kutayij kiniqꞌijilaꞌj, rumal cher ri ikꞌutuꞌn xaq ke achyabꞌ.
But in vain they worship me, while they teach institutions merely human."
10 Ri Jesús xuꞌsikꞌij ri winaq xubꞌij chike: Qas chita na, xuqujeꞌ utz chibꞌana che uchꞌobꞌik ri kinbꞌij chiꞌwe:
Then, having called the multitude, he said to them, Hear, and be instructed.
11 Man are ta ri rikil ri kitijo kabꞌanow chꞌuluj chiꞌwe cho ri Dios, xane are kabꞌanow chꞌuluj chiꞌwe ri tzukun taq chꞌoꞌj rukꞌ taq tzij, xuqujeꞌ ri itzel taq tzij ri kibꞌij.
It is not what goes into the mouth pollutes the man; but it is what proceeds out of the mouth, that pollutes the man.
12 Ri tijoxelabꞌ xeqet rukꞌ ri Jesús, xkibꞌij che: Man utz taj xkita le fariseos ri xbꞌij la.
On which his disciples accosting him, said, Did you observe how the Pharisees, when they heard that saying were offended?
13 Ri Jesús xubꞌij: Ronojel qꞌayes ri man are ta ri nuTat tikowinaq kabꞌoq na bꞌik ri kꞌa te riꞌ kakꞌyaq na bꞌik.
He answered, Every plant, which my heavenly Father has not planted, shall be extirpated.
14 Chiꞌya chilaꞌ rumal cher jer e kꞌo ri moy ri kakikꞌam kibꞌe nikꞌaj moyabꞌ chik, we jun moy kukꞌam ubꞌe jun moy chik, kikobꞌchal riꞌ ketzaq bꞌik pa jun jul.
Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
15 Ri Pedro xuta che ri Jesús: Bꞌij la chaqe jas ubꞌanik ri kꞌambꞌejabꞌal noꞌj ri xtzijoj la are xbꞌij la ri jastaq ri kubꞌan chꞌuluj chaqe cho ri Dios.
Then Peter addressing him, said, Explain to us that parable.
16 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che: ¿Man kichꞌobꞌ ta xuqujeꞌ ix?
Jesus answered, Are you also void of understanding?
17 Ronojel ri kaqatijo xuqujeꞌ ri kaqaqumuj keꞌ chiqapam, kꞌa te riꞌ keꞌqachuluj kanoq.
Do you not apprehend, that whatever enters the mouth passes into the stomach, and is thrown out into the sink.
18 Are kꞌu ri kape pa qanimaꞌ kel loq pa qachiꞌ are riꞌ kuchꞌulujij ri winaq.
But that which proceeds out of the mouth, issues from the heart, and so pollutes the man.
19 Pa ri animaꞌaj kape wi ri itzel taq chomanik, ri kamisanik, ri tzukun kakabꞌ ixoqibꞌ, xuqujeꞌ kakabꞌ achyabꞌ, ri mak kukꞌ taq ixoqibꞌ xuqujeꞌ mak kukꞌ taq achyabꞌ, bꞌanoj taq tzij chikij nikꞌaj winaq chik, ri elaqꞌ, ri itzel taq noꞌjibꞌal chikiwach ri winaq.
For out of the heart proceed malicious contrivances, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, calumnies.
20 Man are ta kabꞌanow chꞌuluj che jun winaq we man kuchꞌaj uqꞌabꞌ, are kabꞌanow chꞌuluj che ri winaq ri itzel taq jastaq.
These are the things which pollute the man; but to eat with unwashed hands pollutes not the man.
21 Are xel bꞌik ri Jesús chilaꞌ, xeꞌ pa ri tinimit Tiro xuqujeꞌ Sidón.
Then Jesus withdrew into the confines of Tyre and Sidon;
22 Kꞌo jun ixoq chilaꞌ kachiꞌl ri kabꞌix kananeos chike kumal ri winaq aꞌj Israel, xuraq uchiꞌ xqebꞌ rukꞌ ri Jesús, xubꞌij che: Ajawxel, lal riꞌ ri Ralkꞌwaꞌl ri David, toqꞌobꞌisaj la nuwach, chintoꞌ la. Kꞌo jun itzel uxlabꞌal che ri wal ali, sibꞌalaj kubꞌan kꞌax che.
and behold! a Canaanitish woman of these territories came to him, crying, Master, Son of David, have pity on me; my daughter is grievously afflicted by a demon.
But he gave her no answer. Then his disciples interposed, and entreated him, saying, Dismiss her, for she clamors after us.
24 Ri Jesús xubꞌij: Ri Dios xinutaq loq xaq xwi chikitoꞌik ri winaq ri aꞌj Israel, rumal jer e kꞌo chij ri e sachinaq kanoq.
He answering said, My mission is only to the lost sheep of the stock of Israel.
25 Ri ixoq xqet rukꞌ ri Jesús, xukiꞌ choch, xubꞌij che: Ajawxel, chintoꞌ la.
She, nevertheless, advanced, and prostrating herself before him, said, O Lord, help me.
26 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che: Man utz taj kaqaya ri kiwa ri alkꞌwaꞌlaxelabꞌ chike ri tzꞌiꞌ.
He replied, It is not seemly to take the children's bread, and throw it to the dogs.
27 Ri ixoq xubꞌij che: Qas tzij wi, Ajawxel. Pune jeriꞌ, ri tzꞌiꞌ kakitij ri uxeꞌr taq kiwa ri e kajaw ri katzaq chuxeꞌ ri mexa.
True, Sir, returned she. Yet even the dogs are allowed the crumbs which fall from their master's table.
28 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che ri ixoq: Ixoq, at qas kuꞌl wi akꞌuꞌx chirij ri Dios. Kabꞌantaj na awukꞌ ri xata chwe. Qas che ri qꞌotaj riꞌ xutzir ri ral ri ixoq.
Then Jesus, answering, said to her, O woman! great is your faith. Be it to you as you desire. And that instant her daughter was healed.
29 Ri Jesús xel bꞌik chilaꞌ, xeꞌ chuchiꞌ ri cho Galilea. Xpaqiꞌ puꞌwiꞌ jun juyubꞌ, kꞌa te riꞌ xtꞌuyiꞌk.
Jesus having left that place, came nigh to the sea of Galilee, and repaired to a mountain, where he sat down;
30 Sibꞌalaj e kꞌi winaq xeꞌkikꞌam bꞌik e yawabꞌibꞌ rukꞌ ri Jesús. Chikixoꞌl ri yawabꞌibꞌ e kꞌo chꞌokeꞌr, moyabꞌ, maj kiqꞌabꞌ, e memabꞌ. Ri Jesús xuꞌkunaj konojel.
and great multitudes flocked to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the dumb, the cripple, and several others, whom they laid at his feet; and he healed them:
31 Ri winaq sibꞌalaj xemayijanik are xeꞌkil ri yawabꞌibꞌ ri xuꞌtzirik, ri memabꞌ xkichapleꞌj chꞌawem, ri e chꞌokeꞌr xkichapleꞌj bꞌinem, xuqujeꞌ ri e moyabꞌ xkichapleꞌj kaꞌyem. Ri winaq xkichapleꞌj uqꞌijilaꞌxik ri kiDios ri aꞌj Israel.
insomuch that the people beheld, with admiration, the dumb speaking, the cripple sound, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Ri Jesús xuꞌsikꞌij ri utijoxelabꞌ, xubꞌij chike: Kintoqꞌobꞌisaj kiwach konojel we winaq riꞌ. Xeꞌ oxibꞌ qꞌij e kꞌo wukꞌ, man kꞌo ta kiwa kitijom. Man kawaj ta kꞌut ketzalij cho kachoch we man kewaꞌ bꞌik, rukꞌ jubꞌiqꞌ kekam che numik pa ri bꞌe.
Then Jesus called to him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude because they have now attended me three days, and have nothing to eat; I will not dismiss them fasting, lest they faint by the way.
33 Ri tijoxelabꞌ xkibꞌij che: Naj uj kꞌo wi che ri tinimit, ¿jawjeꞌ keꞌ qa man wi loq kiwa konojel we winaq riꞌ?
His disciples answered, Whence can we get bread enough, in the solitude, to satisfy such a crowd?
34 Ri Jesús xuta chike: ¿Janipa kaxlan wa kꞌo iwukꞌ? Ri tijoxelabꞌ xkibꞌij: Wuqubꞌ kaxlan wa, rachiꞌl kebꞌ oxibꞌ alaj taq kar.
He asked them, How many loaves have you? They said, Seven, and a few small fishes.
35 Ri Jesús xuꞌtaq ri winaq che tꞌuyulem pa ri ulew.
Then commanding the people to recline upon the ground,
36 Kꞌa te riꞌ xukꞌam ri wuqubꞌ kaxlan wa xuqujeꞌ ri kar, xutyoxij che ri Dios. Kꞌa te riꞌ xupirij ri kaxlan wa xuqujeꞌ ri kar, xuya chike ri utijoxelabꞌ, rech kakijach chike ri winaq.
he took the seven loaves and the fishes, which, having given thanks, he divided and gave to his disciples, who distributed them among the people.
37 Konojel ri winaq xewaꞌik, xuqujeꞌ xenojik. Are xkimol ri chꞌaqaꞌp ri xkanajik, xkiriq na, wuqubꞌ chakach.
When all had eat, and were satisfied, they carried off seven hand-baskets full of the fragments that remained.
38 E kajibꞌ mil achyabꞌ ri xewaꞌik, man xaꞌjilax ta ri ixoqibꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri akꞌalabꞌ.
Now they that had eat were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39 Kꞌa te riꞌ ri Jesús xuꞌchꞌabꞌej kan ri winaq, xpaqiꞌ pa jun jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal puꞌwiꞌ ri jaꞌ, xeꞌ pa ri tinimit Magadán.
Then having dismissed the multitude, he embarked, and sailed to the coast of Magdala.
