Juan 3
1 Kꞌo jun chike ri fariseos ubꞌiꞌ Nicodemo, jun kꞌamal bꞌe kech ri winaq aꞌj Israel.
Ther was a man of the pharises named Nicodemus a ruler amonge ye Iewes.
2 Jun chaqꞌabꞌil ri Nicodemo xuꞌsolij ri Jesús. Xubꞌij che: Ajtij, qetaꞌm chi are ri Dios xtaqow la loq, rumal cher maj chi jun kakwin chubꞌanik ri etal ri kabꞌan la, xaq xwi kakwin ri winaq chubꞌanik we jastaq riꞌ we kꞌo ri ukwinem ri Dios rukꞌ.
The same cam to Iesus by nyght and sayde vnto him: Rabbi we knowe that thou arte a teacher whiche arte come from God. For no man coulde do suche miracles as thou doest except God were with him.
3 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che: Qas tzij kinbꞌij chawe chi ri winaq ri man kalax ta chik junmul, man kakwin taj kok pa ri ajawarem rech ri Dios.
Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto the: except a man be boren a newe he cannot se the kyngdom of God.
4 Ri Nicodemo xubꞌij che ri Jesús: ¿Jas kubꞌan jun achi rech kalax chik junmul? ¿La kakwin kꞌut kok chi bꞌik junmul chupam ri unan, kꞌa te riꞌ kalax chik?
Nicodemus sayde vnto him: how can a man be boren when he is olde? can he enter into his moders wombe and be boren agayne?
5 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che: Qas tzij kinbꞌij chawe, ri man kalax taj che jaꞌ xuqujeꞌ che ri Uxlabꞌal man kakwin taj kok pa ri ajawarem rech ri Dios.
Iesus answered: verely verely I saye vnto the: except that a man be boren of water and of ye sprete he cannot enter into the kyngdome of god.
6 Ri kakꞌiy chike winaq, winaq riꞌ, are kꞌu ri kakꞌiy che ri Uxlabꞌal rech ri Dios, uxlabꞌal riꞌ.
That which is boren of the flesshe is flesshe: and that which is boren of the sprete is sprete.
7 Mat mayijanik che le xinbꞌij chawe: “Rajawaxik wi kixalax chik junmul.”
Marvayle not that I sayd to the ye must be boren a newe.
8 Ri kyaqiqꞌ kajichꞌichꞌ xapawjeꞌ ri karaj wi. Kato kaxururik, man awetaꞌm ta kꞌut jawjeꞌ upetik wi xuqujeꞌ jawjeꞌ keꞌ wi. Je xuqujeꞌ kakꞌulmataj rukꞌ ri winaq ri kalax pa ri Uxlabꞌal.
The wynde bloweth where he listeth and thou hearest his sounde: but canst not tell whence he cometh and whether he goeth. So is every man that is boren of the sprete.
9 Ri Nicodemo xubꞌij che ri Jesús: ¿Jas che jewaꞌ kakꞌulmatajik?
And Nicodemus answered and sayde vnto him: how can these thinges be?
10 Ri Jesús xubꞌij che: ¿At ajtij kech ri winaq aꞌj Israel, man kachꞌobꞌ taj we jastaq riꞌ?
Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: arte thou a master in Israel and knowest not these thinges?
11 Qas tzij kinbꞌij chawe, ri uj are kaqabꞌij ri qetaꞌm, xuqujeꞌ kaqaqꞌalajisaj ri qas qilom, ri ix kꞌut man kikoj taj ri kaqaqꞌalajisaj.
Verely verely I saye vnto the we speake that we knowe and testify that we have sene: and ye receave not oure witnes.
12 We man kikoj ri jastaq rech uwachulew ri nubꞌim chiꞌwe ¿la are ta kꞌu kikoj ri jastaq rech chikaj?
Yf when I tell you erthely thinges ye beleve not: how shuld ye beleve yf I shall tell you of hevenly thinges?
13 Maj jun paqalinaq pa ri kaj, xaq xwi ri in uKꞌojol ri Achi ri xqaj loq choch ri uwachulew.
And no man ascendeth vp to heaven but he that came doune from heaven that is to saye the sonne of man which is in heaven.
14 Jetaq ri xubꞌan ri Moisés xuxekebꞌa ri kumatz pa ri katzꞌinow ulew, je xuqujeꞌ kabꞌan na che uxekebꞌaxik ri uKꞌojol ri Achi.
And as Moses lifte vp the serpent in the wyldernes even so must the sonne of man be lifte vp
that none that beleveth in him perisshe: but have eternall lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
16 Ri Dios sibꞌalaj xuꞌloqꞌaj ri winaq ri e kꞌo choch ri uwachulew, xuya ri xa jun uKꞌojol rech xapachin ri kakojon che man kasach ta uwach xane kꞌo ukꞌaslemal ri maj ukꞌisik. (aiōnios g166)
For God so loveth the worlde yt he hath geven his only sonne that none that beleve in him shuld perisshe: but shuld have everlastinge lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
17 Ri Dios man xutaq ta loq ri uKꞌojol chuqꞌatik tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq ri e kꞌo choch ri uwachulew, xane xpetik rech rumal rech kekolotaj ri winaq.
For God sent not his sonne into the worlde to condepne the worlde: but that the worlde through him might be saved.
18 Ri kakojon che Areꞌ man kaqꞌat taj tzij puꞌwiꞌ, are kꞌu ri man kakojon taj xqꞌat taj tzij riꞌ puꞌwiꞌ, rumal cher man xkojon taj che ri ubꞌiꞌ ri xa jun uKꞌojol ri Dios.
He that beleveth on him shall not be condepned. But he that beleveth not is condempned all redy be cause he beleveth not in the name of the only sonne of God.
19 Kaqꞌat tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq rumal man xekojon taj che ri tunal ri xpe choch ri uwachulew, are utz xkil ri qꞌequꞌmal, jeriꞌ rumal itzel taq chak kakibꞌano.
And this is the condempnacion: that light is come into the worlde and the me loved darcknes more then light because their dedes were evill.
20 Ri winaq ri kubꞌan etzelal, riꞌ karetzelaj ri tunal, man kaqebꞌ taj rukꞌ rumal cher kuxiꞌj ribꞌ chi kaqꞌalajin ri uchak.
For every man that evyll doeth hateth the light: nether commeth to light lest his dedes shuld be reproved.
21 Are kꞌu ri winaq ri are karilij ubꞌanik ri chak rech ri tunal kaqebꞌ rukꞌ ri tunal rech jeriꞌ kaqꞌalajinik chi are ubꞌanom ri chak ri karaj ri Dios.
But he that doth truth commeth to the light that his dedes might be knowen how that they are wrought in God.
22 Are xbꞌiꞌtaj we jastaq riꞌ, ri Jesús xeꞌ pa Judea, e rachiꞌl ri utijoxelabꞌ. Chilaꞌ xkꞌojiꞌ wi kebꞌ oxibꞌ qꞌij xubꞌan kiqasanaꞌ ri winaq.
After these thinges cam Iesus and his disciples into the Iewes londe and ther he haunted with them and baptised.
23 Xuqujeꞌ ri Juan tajin kubꞌan qasanaꞌ pa ri tinimit Enón, ri kꞌo chuxukut ri tinimit Salín, rumal nim ri jaꞌ ri chilaꞌ. Rumal riꞌ xepe ri winaq, xulkiya kibꞌ rech kabꞌan kan kiqasanaꞌ.
And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim because ther was moche water there and they came and were baptised.
24 (Xkꞌulmataj we riꞌ are majaꞌ kok ri Juan pa cheꞌ.)
For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.
25 Kꞌa te riꞌ xchapleꞌtaj jun chꞌoꞌj pa tzij puꞌwiꞌ ri qꞌij rech chꞌajchꞌobꞌen ibꞌ, chikixoꞌl ri utijoxelabꞌ ri Juan rachiꞌl jun achi aj Israel.
And ther arose a questio bitwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes about purifiynge.
26 Ri utijoxelabꞌ ri Juan xeꞌkibꞌij che ri Juan: Ajtij, ri achi ri xopan awukꞌ che ri junmul chꞌaqaꞌp che ri Jordán, ri xaqꞌalajisaj chkiwach ri winaq, tajin kubꞌan qasanaꞌ, e kꞌi winaq tajin koꞌpan rukꞌ.
And they came vnto Iohn and sayde vnto him: Rabbi he that was with the beyonde Iordan to whom thou barest witnes. Beholde the same baptyseth and all me come to him.
27 Ri Juan xubꞌij chike: Man kꞌo ta jun winaq kakwinik kubꞌan jun jastaq we man are ri Dios kayoꞌw kwinem che chubꞌanik.
Iohn answered and sayde: a man can receave no thinge at all except it be geve him fro heaven.
28 Xita ri xinbꞌij: “Man in taj in Cristo, xane xaq xwi xintaq loq nabꞌe choch Areꞌ.”
Ye youre selves are witnesses how that I sayde: I am not Christ but am sent before him.
29 Ri jiꞌatz are qas kꞌo rukꞌ ri alibꞌatz. Ri rech chꞌabꞌeꞌn ri jiꞌatz ri kꞌo chuxukut kakiꞌkotik are kuta ri uchꞌabꞌal ri jiꞌatz. Are waꞌ ri kiꞌkotemal ri kꞌo pa wanimaꞌ in.
He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frende of the brydegrome which stondeth by and heareth him reioyseth greately of the brydgromes voyce. Tis my ioye is fulfilled.
30 Rajawaxik Areꞌ kakꞌiyik, are kꞌu ri in xa kakoꞌpij nukꞌiyem.
He must increace: and I muste decreace.
31 Ri jun ri kape na chilaꞌ chikaj are kꞌo pa kiwiꞌ kojonel, ri winaq ri ajuwachulew, ajuwachulew riꞌ, are karilij utzijoxik riꞌ ri jastaq rech uwachulew. Ri kape na chilaꞌ chikaj are kꞌo pa kiwiꞌ konojel ri winaq.
He that commeth from an hye is above all: He that is of ye erth is of the erth and speaketh of the erth. He that cometh from heaven is above all
32 Ri kape chilaꞌ chikaj kutzijoj ri rilom xuqujeꞌ utom, man kꞌo ta kꞌu jun katatabꞌen ri kubꞌij.
and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: but no man receaveth his testimonye.
33 Ri winaq ri kutatabꞌej ri kubꞌij Areꞌ, kuqꞌalajisaj chi qas tzij ri kubꞌij ri Dios.
How be it he that hath receaved hys testimonye hath set to his seale that God is true.
34 Ri utaqoꞌn ri Dios kuqꞌalajisaj ri tzij rech chilaꞌ chikaj rumal cher ri Dios man kuqꞌatej taj uyaꞌik ri Uxlabꞌixel che ri winaq riꞌ.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the wordes of God. For God geveth not the sprete by measure.
35 Ri Tataxel Dios kuloqꞌaj ri Kꞌojolaxel rumal riꞌ ronojel ri jastaq uyaꞌom pa uqꞌabꞌ Areꞌ.
The father loveth the sonne and hath geven all thinges into his honde.
36 Ri winaq ri kakojon che ri Kꞌojolaxel Dios, kꞌo ukꞌaslemal ri maj ukꞌisik, are kꞌu ri winaq ri karetzelaj ri Kꞌojolaxel Dios man kayaꞌtaj taj ukꞌaslemal xane kaqꞌat na tzij puꞌwiꞌ rumal ri Dios. (aiōnios g166)
He that beleveth on the sonne hath everlastynge lyfe: and he that beleveth not the sonne shall not se lyfe but the wrathe of God abydeth on him. (aiōnios g166)
