< Hebreos 2 >

1 Rumal kꞌu riꞌ sibꞌalaj rajawaxik kaqakoj retal ri qatatabꞌem, rech jeriꞌ man kujsach ta kanoq.
FOR this reason we ought to attend more diligently to the things which have been heard, lest by any means we let them flow by us.
2 Rumal we ri tzij ri xtzijox kumal ri angelibꞌ ko xutayij xuqujeꞌ ri man xeniman taj xqꞌat tzij pa kiwiꞌ jetaq ri qas taqal chike.
For if the discourse spoken by angels was confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment as its due,
3 Qas kaqꞌat kꞌu wi na tzij pa qawiꞌ we man nim kaqilo ri koltajem ri katzuj chaqe. Are ri Ajawxel xyoꞌw loq ubꞌixik nabꞌe jas ubꞌanik we koltajem riꞌ, xuqujeꞌ ri xetowik xkibꞌij chaqe chi qas jeriꞌ wi ubꞌanik.
how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which, commencing at the beginning to be spoken by the Lord, was confirmed unto us by those who had heard him;
4 Ri Dios xuqujeꞌ xukꞌutu ri uqꞌalajisanik rukꞌ mayijabꞌal taq jastaq xuqujeꞌ sibꞌalaj kꞌi kꞌutbꞌal, kꞌi sipanik ri xuyaꞌo rumal ri urayibꞌal kuꞌx ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel.
God superadding his testimony with them, by signs, and wonders, and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
5 Ri Dios man xubꞌan ta chike ri angelibꞌ chi kabꞌan ke puꞌwiꞌ ri uwachulew ri kape na.
For he hath not subjected the future world, of which we are speaking, to the angels.
6 Jetaq ri xubꞌij loq jun ojer: ¿Jas ubꞌanik ri winaq che ri kel kuꞌx la che? ¿Jas ubꞌanik rijaꞌl ri winaq rech jeriꞌ kakoj la pa kuenta?
But one in a certain passage testifieth, saying, “What is man, that thou rememberest him, or a son of man, that thou regardest him?”
7 Koꞌl uqꞌij xbꞌan la che chikiwach ri angelibꞌ, xya la ri juluwem che xuqujeꞌ xya la uqꞌij.
“Thou hast made him for a little while lower than angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, and hast placed him over the works of thy hands:
8 Xbꞌan la che chi kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ronojel ri jastaq. We are ri Dios xbꞌanow che chi kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ronojel ri jastaq, Are kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ronojel ri jastaq. Pune kaqilo chi kamik kꞌamajaꞌ na kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ronojel.
thou hast subjected all things under his feet.” Now in subjecting all things to him, he left nothing unsubjected to him; but at present we see not yet all things subjected to him.
9 Pune jeriꞌ, kaqilo chi ri Jesús xbꞌan kꞌol uqꞌij che chikiwach ri angelibꞌ, xya unimal uqꞌij xuqujeꞌ juluwem che rumal xuriq ri kamikal. Xaq jeriꞌ rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios, ri kamikal ri xuriq ri Jesús kꞌo xutayij chaqe qonojel.
But we see Jesus for a little while made lower than angels, by the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that, by the grace of God, he might taste of death for every one.
10 Jeriꞌ rumal taqal che ri tikol rech ronojel ri jastaq xuqujeꞌ ri yoꞌwinaq ukꞌaslemal ronojel ri kꞌolik, xubꞌano chi xuriq kꞌax ri bꞌanal rech ri koltajem rech jeriꞌ kuꞌkꞌam na bꞌik e kꞌi pa ri juluwem.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to perfect the Author of their salvation by sufferings.
11 Jeriꞌ rumal cher ri katyoxirisanik xuqujeꞌ ri keꞌtyoxirisaxik, xa jun aꞌjchoqꞌe; rumal riꞌ ri Jesús man kukꞌixibꞌej taj ubꞌixik rachalal chike.
For both he that sanctifies, and they who are sanctified, are all of one. For which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Rumal riꞌ xubꞌij: Kintzijoj na ri bꞌiꞌ la chike ri e wachalal; chikixoꞌl konojel ri komontyox la, kinqꞌijilaꞌj na ri bꞌiꞌ la.
saying, “I will declare thy name to my brethren, in the midst of the church I will sing hymns to thee.”
13 Xuqujeꞌ junmul chik xubꞌij: Kajeqiꞌ na kꞌuꞌx chirij ri Dios, xuqujeꞌ kutzꞌaqatisaj ubꞌixik: Chi riꞌ in kꞌo wi kukꞌ ri e ralkꞌwaꞌl ri Dios ri xuꞌya chwe.
And again, “I will place my confidence in him.” And again, “Behold! Here am I, and the children which God hath given me.”
14 Rumal kꞌu che ri xaq e tyoꞌj xuqujeꞌ e bꞌaq e wokowinaq, rumal riꞌ xujunamaj ribꞌ ri Jesús kukꞌ rech rumal ri ukamikal xuchekꞌ ri Itzel rumal chi are ri Itzel kabꞌan kan rech nabꞌe puꞌwiꞌ ri kamikal,
Seeing therefore that the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he also himself, in exact resemblance, partook of the same, that by death he might destroy him who held the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 rech jeriꞌ kekiritaj na konojel ri xa rumal ri xibꞌin ibꞌ cho ri kamikal e kꞌo kanoq chuxeꞌ ri jatꞌibꞌal.
and deliver those, even as many as through their whole life were subjects of bondage to the fear of death.
16 Rumal cher ri Jesús man xpe taj chikitoꞌik ri angelibꞌ xane xpe chikitoꞌik ri e rijaꞌl ri Abraham.
For he verily took not on him the angelic nature, but assumed that of the seed of Abraham.
17 Rumal riꞌ tzi choqꞌaqꞌ wi chi kajunumataj kukꞌ ri e rachalal, rech jeriꞌ kux ri nimalaj sukꞌ xuqujeꞌ toqꞌobꞌisal wach chꞌawenel cho ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq rech jeriꞌ kuchup ronojel ri makaj rech ri tinimit.
Wherefore he ought in all things to be made like to his brethren, in order to become a merciful and faithful high-priest in those things which relate to God, to make a propitiation for the sins of the people:
18 Ri Jesús are xuriq kꞌax xtaqchiꞌx chubꞌanik mak, rumal kꞌu riꞌ kamik rukꞌ ri ukwinem kakwinik kuꞌtoꞌ konojel ri ketaqchiꞌx chubꞌanik mak.
for inasmuch as he hath himself suffered, having been tempted, he is able to succour those who are tempted.
