Efesios 5
1 Xaq jeriꞌ chiwesaj uwach ri unoꞌjibꞌal ri Dios, jer chixnoꞌjin utz laj taq alkꞌwaꞌlaxelabꞌ.
Therfor be ye foloweris of God, as moost dereworthe sones;
2 Chikꞌaslebꞌej jun kꞌaslemal rech loqꞌanik, jetaq ri xubꞌan ri Cristo, xujuloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ xujach ri ukꞌaslemal jeꞌ jas jun kꞌokꞌ laj sipanik cho ri Dios.
and walke ye in loue, as Crist louyde vs, and yaf hym silf for vs an offryng and a sacrifice to God, in to the odour of swetnesse.
3 Xaq jeriꞌ man kibꞌan ta bꞌa mak kukꞌ taq ixoqibꞌ xuqujeꞌ kukꞌ taq achyabꞌ, man kixjiqꞌjat ta xuqujeꞌ, man kibꞌan ta jastaq ri man e chꞌajchꞌoj taj, rumal chi man kataqiꞌ ta chike ri winaq ri uchaꞌom ri Dios.
And fornycacioun, and al vnclennesse, or aueryce, be not named among you, as it bicometh holi men;
4 Xuqujeꞌ mibꞌij itzel taq tzij, tzijitzatik ri man kꞌo ta choqꞌaqꞌ che, qꞌolobꞌal taq tzij, xuqujeꞌ tzij ri kawach kel kubꞌij. Xane are chixtyoxinoq.
ethir filthe, or foli speche, or harlatrye, that perteyneth not to profit, but more doyng of thankyngis.
5 Rumal cher maj jun winaq ri kakꞌarkꞌatik, xuqujeꞌ kuqꞌijilaꞌj itzel taq jastaq ri man are ta Dios, ri bꞌanal mak kukꞌ taq achyabꞌ, ixoqibꞌ, karechabꞌej ri ajawarem rech ri Cristo xuqujeꞌ ri rajawarem ri Dios.
For wite ye this, and vndurstonde, that ech letchour, or vnclene man, or coueytouse, that serueth to mawmetis, hath not eritage in the kingdom of Crist and of God.
6 Mixsubꞌutaj bꞌa rukꞌ taq ri tzijonem ri maj kupatanij, rumal chi rukꞌ waꞌ we jastaq riꞌ kape ri qꞌatoj tzij rech ri Dios pa kiwiꞌ ri man keniman taj.
No man disseyue you bi veyn wordis; for whi for these thingis the wraththe of God cam on the sones of vnbileue.
7 Xaq jeriꞌ man kibꞌan ta iwachiꞌl chike.
Therfor nyle ye be maad parteneris of hem.
8 Rumal kꞌu cher ix qꞌequꞌmal kanoq ix nabꞌe, kamik kꞌut ix ralkꞌwaꞌl ri tunal, je bꞌa chixnoꞌjinoq jetaq ri ralkꞌwaꞌl ri tunal.
For ye weren sum tyme derknessis, but now `ye ben liyt in the Lord. Walke ye as the sones of liyt.
9 Ri uwachinik ri tunal are ri utzilal, ri sukꞌal xuqujeꞌ ri qas tzij.
For the fruyt of liyt is in al goodnesse, and riytwisnesse, and treuthe.
10 Qas chiwila bꞌa jas ri karaj ri Ajawxel.
And preue ye what `thing is wel plesynge to God.
11 Man kijunamaj ta bꞌa ikꞌuꞌx kukꞌ ri winaq ri kakibꞌan jastaq rech ri qꞌequꞌmal, xane chiꞌtzujuj.
And nyle ye comyne to vnfruytouse werkis of derknessis; but more repreue ye.
12 Rumal chi kꞌixibꞌal ubꞌixik ronojel ri kakibꞌan chaꞌwal ri winaq ri man keniman taj.
For what thingis ben don of hem in priuy, it is foule, yhe, to speke.
13 Xa kꞌu ronojel ri kutunaj ri tunal, kaqꞌalajin na.
And alle thingis that ben repreuyd of the liyt, ben opynli schewid; for al thing that is schewid, is liyt.
14 Rumal are ri tunal kakꞌutuw ronojel ri jastaq, rumal riꞌ kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: Chatwaꞌjiloq at ri katwar chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ, katutunaj ri Cristo.
For which thing he seith, Rise thou that slepist, and rise vp fro deth, and Crist schal liytne thee.
15 Rumal riꞌ qas chiwila na ri kixnoꞌjinik, qas chichomaj na jas ri kibꞌano, man je ta ri kixnoꞌjin kon. Xane jer chixnoꞌjin winaq ri kꞌo iwetaꞌmabꞌal.
Therfor, britheren, se ye, hou warli ye schulen go;
16 Utz chibꞌana chukojik ri qꞌotaj rumal cher kepe na qꞌij ri man e utz taj.
not as vnwise men, but as wise men, ayenbiynge tyme, for the daies ben yuele.
17 Xaq jeriꞌ, man je ta kixnoꞌjin ri winaq ri maj ketaꞌmabꞌal xane chichꞌobꞌo rij ri urayibꞌal ukꞌuꞌx ri Dios chiꞌwe.
Therfor nyle ye be maad vnwise, but vndurstondynge which is the wille of God.
18 Man kixqꞌabꞌar taj rukꞌ jastaq ri kaqꞌabꞌarisanik, rumal xaq kixukonarisaj, xane are chixnoj che ri Uxlabꞌixel.
And nyle ye be drunkun of wyn, in which is letcherie, but be ye fillid with the Hooli Goost; and speke ye to you silf in salmes,
19 Chitaqchiꞌj iwibꞌ rukꞌ ri Salmos, xuqujeꞌ rukꞌ ronojel uwach bꞌix. Chixbꞌixonoq xuqujeꞌ chixqꞌijilaꞌn che ri Ajawxel rukꞌ ronojel iwanimaꞌ.
and ymnes, and spiritual songis, syngynge and seiynge salm in youre hertis to the Lord;
20 Amaqꞌel chixtyoxin che ri Dios Tataxel che ronojel ri jastaq, pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.
euermore doynge thankingis for alle thingis in the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist to God and to the fadir.
21 Chinimaj iwibꞌ rumal nim kiwil ri Cristo.
Be ye suget togidere in the drede of Crist.
22 Iꞌxoqilom chiꞌnimaj ri iwachajilal jeꞌ jas ri kibꞌan chunimaxik ri Ajawxel.
Wymmen, be thei suget to her hosebondis,
23 Rumal chi are ri achajilom jolomaj rech ri rixoqil, jetaq ri Cristo are jolomaj xuqujeꞌ xukol ri komontyox, rumal cher are utyoꞌjal.
as to the Lord, for the man is heed of the wymman, as Crist is heed of the chirche; he is sauyour of his bodi.
24 Jeꞌ jas ri komontyox kunimaj ri Cristo, je xuqujeꞌ ri iꞌxoqilom rajawaxik kakinimaj ronojel ri kakibꞌij ri kachajilal chike.
But as the chirche is suget to Crist, so wymmen to her hosebondis in alle thingis.
25 Aꞌchajilom, chiꞌloqꞌaj ri iwixoqilal, jeꞌ jas ri xubꞌan ri Cristo xuloqꞌaj ri komontyox xuqujeꞌ xujach ribꞌ cho ri ripbꞌal rumal rech
Men, loue ye youre wyues, as Crist louyde the chirche, and yaf hym silf for it, to make it holi;
26 rech xutyoxirisaj, xuchꞌajchꞌobꞌej are xuchꞌajo rukꞌ jaꞌ, rumal ri utzij.
and clenside it with the waisching of watir, in the word of lijf,
27 Rech xujach ribꞌ chibꞌil ribꞌ jun komontyox kachuplinik, maj chꞌuluj che, xuqujeꞌ man qꞌuchuꞌch taj, xane tyox xuqujeꞌ chꞌajchꞌoj.
to yyue the chirche gloriouse to hym silf, that it hadde no wem, ne ryueling, or ony siche thing, but that it be hooli and vndefoulid.
28 Ri achajilom xuqujeꞌ rajawaxik kuloqꞌaj ri rixoqil jeꞌ jas ri utyoꞌjal. Xapachin ri kuloqꞌaj ribꞌ kuloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ ri rixoqil.
So and men `schulen loue her wyues, as her owne bodies. He that loueth his wijf, loueth hym silf;
29 Rumal maj jun retzelam uwach ri utyoꞌjal, xane kutzuqu xuqujeꞌ kuchajij jeꞌ jas ri kubꞌan ri Cristo che ri komontyox.
for no man hatide euere his owne fleisch, but nurischith and fostrith it, as Crist doith the chirche.
30 Rumal chi uj utyoꞌjal ri Cristo.
And we ben membris of his bodi, of his fleisch, and of his boonys.
31 Rumal riꞌ, ri achi kuꞌya kan ri utat ri unan, kuꞌx jun rukꞌ ri rixoqil, xaq jeriꞌ ri e kebꞌ winaq kuꞌx xa jun tyoꞌjal.
For this thing a man schal forsake his fadir and modir, and he schal drawe to his wijf; and thei schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
32 Chi riꞌ kaqil wi chi sibꞌalaj nim waꞌ we uchomanik loq ri Dios, are waꞌ ri kinchomaj in chirij ri Cristo xuqujeꞌ ri komontyox.
This sacrament is greet; yhe, Y seie in Crist, and in the chirche.
33 Pune jeriꞌ pa jujunal bꞌa chiꞌwe chiloqꞌaj ri iwixoqil jeꞌ jas ri kibꞌan chuloqꞌaxik iwibꞌ ix, xuqujeꞌ ri ixoqilom chunimaj ri achajilom.
Netheles ye alle, ech man loue his wijf as hym silf; and the wijf drede hir hosebonde.
