Efesios 4
1 Rumal kꞌu waꞌ in kꞌo pa cheꞌ rumal utzijoxik ri Ajawxel, xa kꞌu kinta chiꞌwe: Chikꞌaslebꞌej jun utz laj kꞌaslemal taqal che ri sikꞌinik ri xikꞌamawaꞌj.
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
2 Chimochꞌo iwibꞌ xuqujeꞌ utz chixnoꞌjinoq, man kayakataj ta iwoyawal aninaq, chiꞌkꞌamawaꞌj nikꞌaj winaq chik rukꞌ loqꞌanik.
with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Chikojo ichuqꞌabꞌ rech xa ix jun, jetaq ri karaj ri Uxlabꞌixel, rumal ri jaꞌmaril ri kꞌo chi ixoꞌl.
giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 Xa jun tyoꞌjal, xa jun Uxlabꞌixel, xa jun kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx, are riꞌ ri sikꞌinik ri ubꞌanom ri Dios.
[There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
5 Xa jun Ajawxel, xa jun kojobꞌal, xa jun qasanaꞌ.
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 Xa jun Dios xuqujeꞌ xa jun Tataxel kech konojel ri winaq, ri kꞌo pa kiwiꞌ konojel, xuqujeꞌ chikixoꞌl konojel, je xuqujeꞌ pa kanimaꞌ konojel.
one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 Yaꞌtal kꞌu chaqe chqajujunal ri toqꞌobꞌ jetaq ri retabꞌal ri Cristo are xujach ri sipanik.
But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Rumal waꞌ kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: Are xpaqiꞌ chikaj xuꞌkaꞌm bꞌik konojel ri e chaptal bꞌik xuqujeꞌ xuya jaljoj taq sipanik chike ri achyabꞌ.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
9 ¿Jas kel kubꞌij waꞌ chi xpaqiꞌ chikaj? Kel kubꞌij chi nabꞌe xqaj bꞌik xuqujeꞌ kꞌa chuxeꞌ ri ulew.
(Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10 Ri xqaj bꞌik chuxeꞌ ri ulew, are waꞌ ri xpaqiꞌ xuqujeꞌ bꞌik pa ri kaj, chunojisaxik ronojel.
He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 Areꞌ na xyoꞌw bꞌe chike ri winaq rech kꞌo kuꞌx e taqoꞌn, e nikꞌaj chik e qꞌalajisal taq utzij ri Dios, e nikꞌaj chik e tzijol taq utzij ri Dios, e nikꞌaj chik aꞌjyuqꞌabꞌ, xuqujeꞌ nikꞌaj chik aꞌjtijabꞌ.
And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 Rech keꞌkitijoj ri utinimit ri Dios chubꞌanik ri patanijem, rech kawok ri utyoꞌjal ri Cristo.
for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
13 Xaq jeriꞌ kujux xa jun pa ri qakojobꞌal xuqujeꞌ pa ri etaꞌmanik rech ri Ukꞌojol ri Dios, rech kujux ko pa ri qakojobꞌal xuqujeꞌ rech kujopan pa ri tzꞌaqat etabꞌal rech ri Cristo.
till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 Rech man je ta kujuxik jas ri akꞌalabꞌ ri man xaq ta jun kekꞌojiꞌ wi, kebꞌe jewaꞌ jeriꞌ, rumal ri kꞌutuꞌn ri kaya chike kumal ri e qꞌolonelabꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri winaq ri xaq kesubꞌunik.
that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
15 Xaq jeriꞌ kaqatzijoj ri qas tzij, rukꞌ loqꞌabꞌal kuꞌx, xuqujeꞌ kujkꞌiyik kꞌa kujux na jetaq ri Cristo areꞌ jolomaj rech ri komontyox.
but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him, which is the head, [even] Christ;
16 Rumal rech ri Cristo kakꞌiy ri qatyoꞌjal, rumal cher chikijujunal ri wokowinaq ri tyoꞌjal kakibꞌan ri kichak rech jeriꞌ kakitoꞌ kibꞌ kekꞌiyik xuqujeꞌ kakikꞌamawaꞌj kichuqꞌabꞌ pa ri loqꞌanik, rumal kitiqeloꞌm ribꞌ.
from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in [due] measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.
17 Xaq jeriꞌ pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Ajawxel kinta chiꞌwe: Man je ta bꞌa kixnoꞌjinik jetaq ri winaq ri man e kojonelabꞌ taj, ri aꞌreꞌ e sachinaq rukꞌ taq ri kinoꞌjibꞌal.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Qꞌequꞌmarinaq ri kichomabꞌal. Man kakikiꞌkotebꞌej ta ri kꞌaslemal ri kape rukꞌ ri Dios, kowirinaq ri kanimaꞌ, rumal chi man kꞌo ta ketaꞌmabꞌal.
being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;
19 Maj chi kikꞌixibꞌal, xkijach kibꞌ pa ri bꞌanoj taq mak, man kakꞌis taj ta kikꞌuꞌx chubꞌanik ri etzelal.
who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 Man are ta kꞌu waꞌ ri kꞌutuꞌn ri xikꞌamawaꞌj che ri Cristo.
But ye did not so learn Christ;
21 We na kꞌu qas xita ri xtzijox chiꞌwe, chi xaq pa Jesús kꞌo wi qas tzij.
if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
22 Xaq jeriꞌ rajawaxik kitzaq kan ronojel ri qꞌeꞌl taq inoꞌjibꞌal xuqujeꞌ chiya kanoq ronojel ri xixux kan nabꞌe, rumal cher qꞌayinaq chik ri ikꞌaslemal riꞌ, rumal ri itzel taq irayinik.
that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, which waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
23 Chikꞌexa bꞌa ri ukꞌuꞌx ri ichomanik.
and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 Xuqujeꞌ chikojo ri kꞌakꞌ taq atzꞌyaq rech ri kꞌakꞌ taq noꞌjibꞌal rech ri kꞌakꞌ kꞌaslemal, ri bꞌantal jetaq ri ukaꞌyibꞌal ri Dios, pa ri qas tzij, ri sukꞌal xuqujeꞌ ri tyoxalaj kꞌaslemal.
and put on the new man, which after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
25 Man kibꞌan ta chi bꞌa ri bꞌanoj taq tzij, are chibꞌij ri qas tzij kukꞌ taq ri ikꞌul ja, rumal qonojel xa jun tyoꞌjal qaꞌnik.
Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Man kiya ta bꞌe che ri oyawal kabꞌan rech piꞌwiꞌ. Man kiya ta bꞌe naj kixoyowarik.
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Man kiya ta bꞌe che ri Itzel kok piꞌwanimaꞌ.
neither give place to the devil.
28 Ri kelaqꞌ kan nabꞌe, man kelaqꞌ ta chik, xane chakunoq rukꞌ sukꞌal, rukꞌ ri uqꞌabꞌ rech kꞌo kuya chike ri winaq ri e mebꞌa.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.
29 Man kibꞌij ta itzel taq tzij. Are chitzijoj jastaq ri kukꞌam la utzilal chike ri ketowik.
Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.
30 Man kiya ta bꞌis che ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel rech ri Dios, ri xukoj iwetal are xixkiritajik.
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Chitzaqa kan ronojel kꞌaxal ri kꞌo pa iwanimaꞌ, oyawal, yojtajem, raqoj taq chiꞌaj, bꞌanoj taq tzij, xuqujeꞌ ronojel uwach etzelal.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 Xane utz chixnoꞌjinoq, cheꞌl ikꞌuꞌx chike ri winaq, chikuyu taq iwibꞌ jacha ri xubꞌan ri Dios xixukuy pa Cristo.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
