Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy, the brother,
2 Chike ri tyoxalaj taq kojonelabꞌ ri e kꞌo pa Colosas chuya toqꞌobꞌ xuqujeꞌ jaꞌmaril chike rech ri qatat Dios.
to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ, who are at Colosse: Favor to you, and peace from God our Father.
3 Kujtyoxin che ri Dios, Tataxel re ri Ajawxel Jesucristo, kaqabꞌan chꞌawem piꞌwiꞌ,
We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ always, when we pray for you;
4 rumal qatom ri ikojobꞌal pa Cristo Jesús, xuqujeꞌ ri iloqꞌanik chike ri kojonelabꞌ.
having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have to all the saints--
5 Xa rumal ri kuꞌlibꞌal ikꞌuꞌx ri yaktal pa ri kaj. Pa we kꞌulibꞌal kꞌuꞌx riꞌ, ri ix xita ri utz laj tzij re qas tzij, ri utz laj tzij
for the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you have formerly heard in the word of truth of the gospel,
6 ri xopan iwukꞌ. We utz laj tzij riꞌ tajin kawachinik xuqujeꞌ tajin kakꞌiyik pa ronojel ri uwachulew, je xuqujeꞌ xkꞌulmataj iwukꞌ ix pa ri qꞌij ri xito xuqujeꞌ xichꞌobꞌ ri qas tzij rech ri jeꞌl laj utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios.
which is present among you, as it is also in the world, and is bringing forth fruit and prevailing, even as among you, from that day you heard and knew the favor of God in truth--
7 Jetaq ri xiwetaꞌmaj rukꞌ ri Epafras, patanil re ri Cristo xuqujeꞌ toꞌl qe uj, rumal iwe.
even as you learned it of Epaphras, our beloved fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ,
8 Areꞌ xtzijon chaqe ri iloqꞌanik pa ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel.
who has also declared to us your love in spirit.
9 Are xqatabꞌej rech we riꞌ, man uj tanalinaq taj che ubꞌanik chꞌawem piꞌwiꞌ. Kaqata che ri Dios rech kubꞌano chi rukꞌ etaꞌmabꞌal kiwetaꞌmaj ri rayibꞌal ukꞌuꞌx rukꞌ ronojel etaꞌmanik xuqujeꞌ chꞌobꞌonik pa ri Uxlabꞌixel.
For this reason, we also, from the day we heard these things, do not cease to pray for you, and to request that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding--

that you may walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, bringing forth fruit by every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

being strengthened with all strength, according to his glorious power, to all patience and long-suffering with joy:

giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us for a portion of the inheritance of the saints in the light;
13 Areꞌ xujresaj xeꞌ raqan uqꞌabꞌ ri qꞌequꞌmal xujuqꞌaxaj pa ri ajawarem rech ri Loqꞌalaj uKꞌojol.
who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his beloved Son:
14 Pa Cristo xujtortaj wi, xuqujeꞌ xqakꞌamawaꞌj ri kuybꞌal qamak.
by whom we have redemption, even the remission of sins.
15 Ri Cristo are ukaꞌyebꞌal ri Dios ri man kilitaj taj. Are nim uqꞌij choch ronojel ri jastaq ri xetikik.
He is the image of the invisible God, the first born of the whole creation.
16 Rumal rech areꞌ xetikitaj ronojel ri jastaq pa ri kaj xuqujeꞌ choch ri uwachulew, ri jastaq ri kiꞌlitaj uwach, xuqujeꞌ ri man kiꞌlitaj ta uwach, tꞌuyulibꞌal kech e taqanelabꞌ, kwinem, e chuqꞌabꞌ xuqujeꞌ winaq ri kabꞌan ke. Xtikitaj loq rumal areꞌ xuqujeꞌ rech areꞌ.
Because, by him were created all things which are in the heavens, and which are upon the earth; things visible, and things invisible; whether thrones, or lordships, or governments, or powers; all things were created by him and for him.
17 Are kꞌo nabꞌe choch ronojel ri jastaq, xa rumal areꞌ e kꞌolik, are xuqujeꞌ kabꞌanowik chi kechakun ronojel.
And he is before all things; and by him all things consist.
18 Are ri Cristo ujolom ri komontyox, areꞌ majibꞌal rech ronojel, are nabꞌyal chike konojel ri e kꞌastajinaq, rech jeriꞌ areꞌ nabꞌyal che ronojel.
And he is the head of the body, even the congregation. He is the beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all respects he might be pre-eminent.
19 Rumal chi xraj ri Tataxel chi pa Cristo kakꞌojiꞌ ronojel ri Dios,
For it pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell in him;
20 xuqujeꞌ rumal areꞌ xeꞌrutzirisaj ri jastaq ri e kꞌo cho ri uwachulew rukꞌ ri e kꞌo pa ri kaj, xubꞌan jaꞌmaril chikixoꞌl, rukꞌ ri ukikꞌel ri xtixtobꞌ cho ri ripbꞌal.
and by him to reconcile all things to himself, having made peace by the blood of his cross; I say, by him, whether they be things on the earth, or things in the heavens.
21 Pune ojer ix najtininaq kanoq che ri Dios rumal ri iwetzelal xuqujeꞌ ri inoꞌjibꞌal, ix bꞌanal taq itzel taq chak.
Even you, who were formerly alienated in mind, and enemies by wicked works,
22 Kamik kꞌut ri Dios, rukꞌ ri ukamikal ri Cristo xixrutzirisaj rech are kixujacho ixchꞌajchꞌoj, ix tyoxalaj taq winaq xuqujeꞌ xa ta ne jun makaj kariqitaj chiꞌwe are kixujach cho Areꞌ.
he has now, indeed, reconciled, by the body of his flesh, to present you holy and unblamable, and unreprovable, in his sight;
23 Rech ko kixkꞌojiꞌ pa ri ikojobꞌal, man kixtzaq taj, rech man kixel ta pa ri kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx ri kutzuj ri utz laj tzij chiꞌwe. Are waꞌ ri utz laj tzij ri xito xuqujeꞌ ri tzijotal pa ronojel ri uwachulew xeꞌ ri kaj, are waꞌ ri tajin kintzijoj in, in Pablo.
if, indeed, you continue in the faith founded and stable, and not removed from the hope of the gospel which you have heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature which is under heaven; of which I, Paul, am made a minister.
24 Kinkiꞌkotik are kinriq ri kꞌax pa ri nutyoꞌjal rumal iwe, xuqujeꞌ kintzꞌaqatisaj pa ri nutyoꞌjal ri kajawataj na che ri qꞌoxomal rech ri Cristo, rumal rech ri utyoꞌjal, are waꞌ ri komontyox.
I now rejoice in sufferings for you, and fill up the remainder of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body, which is the congregation;
25 Rumal we komontyox riꞌ xinux patanijel rech ri Dios rumal iwe, rech kintzijoj ri utzij ri Dios.
of which I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God, which was given to me on your account, fully to declare the word of God--

the secret which had been kept hid from the ages, and from the generations, but now has been made manifest to his saints; (aiōn g165)
27 Chike we winaq riꞌ ri Dios xraj xukꞌut ri ujuluwem rech ri uqꞌinomal ri awatal loq chikiwach ri man aꞌj Israel taj, are waꞌ ri Cristo ri kꞌo pa iwanimaꞌ ri kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx rech juluwem.
to whom God has pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this secret among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Are waꞌ ri Cristo ri kaqatzijoj chike ri winaq, keꞌqapixibꞌax, kaqakꞌut chikiwach rukꞌ etaꞌmabꞌal rech e tzꞌaqat keꞌqajacho pa Cristo.
whom we announce, admonishing every man, and teaching every man, with all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ.
29 Rumal waꞌ kinchakunik kinkoj nuchuqꞌabꞌ ri kinkꞌamawaꞌj che ri Cristo, ri kachakun pa wanimaꞌ.
For which I also labor, combating vigorously, according to the effectual working of him who works effectually in me with power.
