< Hechos 27 >
1 Are xopan ri qꞌotaj, xujeꞌ pa ri tinimit Italia. Ri Pablo xuqujeꞌ e nikꞌaj winaq chik ri e kꞌo pa cheꞌ xechajix bꞌik rumal jun chike ri kinimaꞌqil ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit ubꞌiꞌ Julio jun kinimaꞌqil ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ rech ri nim Tinimit.
And as it was determined that we should set sail into Italy, they delivered Paul, and some other prisoners, to a centurions of the Augustan Band, whose name was Julius.
2 Xeꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri Aristarco qukꞌ, jun achi aj Macedonia ri kꞌo pa ri tinimit Tesalónica. Xujeꞌ kꞌu pa ri jukubꞌ ri yaꞌtal bꞌe che pa ri tinimit Adramitio ri kꞌo pa Asia. Ri jukubꞌ kikꞌow bꞌik pa jaljoj taq kꞌolibꞌal chuchiꞌ ulew rech Asia.
And going on board a ship of Adramyttis, we weighed anchor, intending to sail by the coasts of Asia; Aristarchus, a Macedonian, of Thessalonica, being with us.
3 Are xujopan pa ri tinimit Sidón, ri Julio sibꞌalaj utz xnoꞌjin rukꞌ ri Pablo, xuya bꞌe che xqaj pa ri jukubꞌ xuꞌsolij kan ri e rech taq chꞌabꞌeꞌn rech chilaꞌ, rech kaya bꞌik ujastaq ri kajawataj che.
And the next day we reached Sidon: and Julius, treating Paul with great humanity, permitted him to go to his friends, and to enjoy the benefit of their care.
4 Kꞌa te riꞌ xujeꞌ chik pa ri plo, xqarik bꞌik nimaq taq kyaqiqꞌ ri man kuya ta bꞌe che ri jukubꞌ jaꞌ kabꞌinik. Xaq jeriꞌ xujikꞌow bꞌik chuxukut Chipre, chuxoꞌl ri chꞌaqaꞌp ulew xuqujeꞌ ri nima tinimit.
And weighing anchor thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
And sailing through the sea over against Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
6 Chilaꞌ ri kinimaꞌqil ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit xuriq bꞌik jun jukubꞌ ri kape pa ri tinimit Egipto, rech ri leꞌaj Alejandría bꞌenam rij pa ri tinimit Italia, xujuya bꞌik chupam.
And there, the centurion, finding a ship of Alexandria, bound for italy, put us on board of it.
7 Kꞌi qꞌij noꞌjim xujeꞌek, are xikꞌow taq kan ri kꞌax xujopan chuchiꞌ ri tinimit Gnido. Ri kyaqiqꞌ man kuya ta bꞌe chaqe kujbꞌinik rumal riꞌ xujikꞌow bꞌik pa ri chꞌaqaꞌp ulew rech Creta, xaq koꞌl ri kyaqiqꞌ kubꞌan chuchiꞌ ri retal ri Salmón.
And when we had sailed slowly for several days, and were hardly got over against Cnidus, the wind now permitting us; we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone:
8 Rukꞌ kꞌax xaq chuchiꞌ ri jaꞌ xujeꞌ wi, kꞌisbꞌal rech xujopan chuchiꞌ ri ja ubꞌiꞌ “Utz uchiꞌ jaꞌ” jawjeꞌ utz ketakꞌiꞌ wiꞌ ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal chuxukut ri tinimit Lasea.
and passing it with difficulty, we came to a certain place called the Fair Havens, in the neighborhood of which, was the city of Lasea.
9 Naj qꞌotaj xukꞌam bꞌik ri qabꞌinem. Xibꞌibꞌal ri bꞌinem pa ri plo rumal taq ri kyaqiqꞌ jabꞌ ri kakꞌulmatajik, ri qꞌotaj rech jabꞌ xuchapleꞌj, ri Pablo kꞌut xutzijoj rij ri tajin kakꞌulmatajik kukꞌ ri winaq ri e kꞌo pa ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal.
And, as much time was spent, and sailing was now hazardous, because the fast was already over, Paul exhorted them,
10 Xubꞌij chike: Achyabꞌ, kꞌo kꞌax waꞌ kaqariqo we xaq jeꞌ kujbꞌinik, ronojel le jastaq le kꞌo pa le jukubꞌ qatzaqa kanoq, katukin waꞌ we jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal chi qa xeꞌ, xuqujeꞌ kaqarik waꞌ uj kꞌax.
saying to them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be attended with injury and great damage, not only to the lading and to the ship, but also to our lives.
11 Are kꞌu ri taqanel pa kiwiꞌ ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit man xuta ta ri xubꞌij ri Pablo che, are xuta ri xbꞌix che rumal ri ajchoqꞌe xuqujeꞌ ri kabꞌan rech puꞌwiꞌ ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal.
But the centurion paid greater regard to the pilot, and the master of the vessel, than to those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 Are kꞌu ri tinimit ubꞌiꞌnam utz taq uchiꞌ jaꞌ man chajital taj, rumal riꞌ xibꞌibꞌal ikꞌowem chilaꞌ. E kꞌi chike ri kebꞌin pa ri plo are jeꞌl chike kiꞌkꞌow pa ri tinimit Fenice, ri kꞌo apanoq choch ri uchiꞌ jaꞌ pa ri tinimit Creta, ri Fenice sibꞌalaj jun utz laj uchiꞌ jaꞌ jawjeꞌ kikꞌowisax wi ri qꞌotaj rech jabꞌ.
And as the haven was not commodious to winter in, the greater part advised to set sail from thence, if they might possibly reach Phenice, to winter there;
13 Xwaꞌjil kꞌu jun kyaqiqꞌ ri xaq kajororik pa ri uxukut ulew, pa kikꞌuꞌx ri kabꞌan ke puꞌwiꞌ ri jukubꞌ chi maj kꞌax kakiriqo, xkiwaꞌjilisaj ri chꞌichꞌ ri kꞌo che ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal ri qajinaq pa ri jaꞌ, jeriꞌ xiꞌkꞌow bꞌik chuchiꞌ ri jaꞌ rech ri tinimit Creta.
which is a haven of Crete, looking to the southwest and northwest: and as the south win blew gently, supposing they were secure of their purpose, they weighed anchor, and sailed on close to Crete.
14 Xaq kꞌa te xkꞌexen ri qꞌotaj, jun nimalaj kyaqiqꞌ jabꞌ ubꞌiꞌ ri kape chuxukut kaj, xpe puꞌwiꞌ ri chꞌaqaꞌp ulew, xujupaqchiꞌj bꞌik pa ri plo.
But not long after, there arose against her a tempestuous wind, which is called Euroclydon.
15 Ri kabꞌan ke puꞌwiꞌ ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal man xekwin taj xkisutij ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal xechꞌeketajik xekꞌam bꞌik rumal ri kyaqiqꞌ jabꞌ.
And as the ship was violently hurried away, and was not able to bear up against the wind, we gave her up, and were driven.
16 Xujikꞌow chrij jun laj chꞌaqaꞌp ulew ri kꞌo pa ri plo, ubꞌiꞌ Clauda, ri man kꞌo ta wi nim kyaqiqꞌ. Rukꞌ taq kꞌax xujkwin chuyakik ri alaj taq jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal ri chararem bꞌik che toꞌbꞌal qibꞌ.
An running under a certain island, called Clauda, we were hardly able to get masters of the boat:
17 Are kꞌo chi ri alaj taq jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal chupam ri nim jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal, xkixim ri nim jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal rukꞌ kolobꞌ rech man kajaqꞌin taj. Kakixiꞌj kꞌu kibꞌ we ne kunim ribꞌ ri nim jukubꞌ pa ri sanyobꞌ ri ubꞌiꞌ Sirte, rumal riꞌ xkiqasaj ri manta ri kꞌo puꞌwiꞌ ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal.
which, when they had hoisted up, they used helps, undergirding the ship: and fearing, lest they should fall upon the quicksands, they struck sail, and so were driven.
18 Chukabꞌ qꞌij, rumal chi sibꞌalaj nim uchuqꞌabꞌ ri kyaqiqꞌ chupam ri qꞌeqal jabꞌ, xkichap resaxik ri eqaꞌn pa ri jukubꞌ xkikꞌyaq bꞌik pa ri plo.
And we were exceedingly tossed by the storm, the next day they lightened the ship:
19 Churox qꞌij chik xekꞌyaq bꞌik ri chakubꞌal taq jastaq rech ri jukubꞌ pa ri jaꞌ.
and the third day we cast out, with our own hands, the tackling of the ship.
20 Kꞌi qꞌij man xqil ta uwach ri qꞌij o ri chꞌumil, xqarik kꞌax rumal ri nimalaj qꞌeqal jabꞌ. Xqachomaj kꞌut chi kujkam kanoq, man kuꞌl ta chi qa kuꞌx kujkꞌasiꞌk.
Now, as neither sun nor stars appeared for several days, and no small tempest pressed upon us, all remainder of hope that we might be delivered, was taken away.
21 Kꞌi qꞌij chik ikꞌowinaq man kꞌo ta qawa qatijom, rumal riꞌ ri Pablo xtakꞌiꞌ chiqaxoꞌl, xubꞌij: Achyabꞌ, sibꞌalaj utz we ta xita ri xinbꞌij, mat xujel loq pa Creta, rech mat xqariq waꞌ we kꞌax riꞌ xuqujeꞌ we tzaqik.
And when there was great want of food, then Paul, standing in the midst of them, said, Sirs, you ought to have hearkened to me, and not to have loosed from Crete, and incurred this injury and loss.
22 Kamik kꞌut chikꞌama ichuqꞌabꞌ, man kꞌo ta jun chiꞌwe kakamik, xane xwi ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal katukin na, kasach kꞌu uwach.
Nevertheless, even now I exhort you to be of good courage: for there shall be no loss of any life among you; but only of the ship.
23 Chaqꞌabꞌ xukꞌut ribꞌ jun ángel chinuwach ri taqom loq rumal ri Dios ri kinpatanij, xuqujeꞌ kinqꞌijilaꞌj.
For there appeared to me this night, an angel of the God whose I am, and whom I worship,
24 Xubꞌij kꞌu chwe: “Pablo, maxiꞌj awibꞌ, katopan na rukꞌ ri César ri nimalaj taqanel puꞌwiꞌ Roma. Rumal awech ri Dios kuꞌtoꞌ na konojel ri e bꞌenaq awukꞌ pa ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal puꞌwiꞌ jaꞌ, rech man kekam taj.”
saying, Fear not, Paul; you must be presented before Cesar; and, behold, God has given you all them that sail with you.
25 Rumal riꞌ, achyabꞌ, chikꞌama ichuqꞌabꞌ. Kuꞌl na kꞌuꞌx in chirij ri Dios, kinkojo chi qas tzij je kabꞌantaj na jas ri xbꞌix chwe rumal ri ángel.
Wherefore, take courage, men; for I trust in God that it shall be so, even as it was told me.
26 Kujkanaj kꞌu na kan pa jun chꞌaqaꞌp ulew ri kꞌo pa ri plo jawjeꞌ ri kujuya wi kan ri kyaqiqꞌ.
But we must be cast upon a certain island.
27 Pa jun aqꞌabꞌ, chukabꞌ wuqubꞌ qꞌij rech ri qabꞌinem pa ri plo Adria, kujupaqchiꞌla ri kyaqiqꞌ. Are xuriq nikꞌaj aqꞌabꞌ, ri achyabꞌ ri e kꞌamowinaq bꞌik ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal xkilo chi kujnaqajin che ri ulew.
And when the fourteenth night was come, as we were tossed up and down in the Adriatic sea, the mariners suspected, about midnight that they drew near to some land;
28 Xketaj ri unajal ri upam ri plo, xkilo chi juwinaq waqlajuj metros qajinaq. Xujbꞌin chi apanoq jubꞌiqꞌ, te kꞌu riꞌ xketaj chi junmul, xkil kꞌut chi xa juwinaq wuqubꞌ metros chik.
and sounding, they found it twenty fathoms: and having gone a little way from thence, and sounding again, they found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Kakixiꞌj kꞌu kibꞌ we ne kajaqꞌin ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal cho taq ri abꞌaj, rumal riꞌ xkiqasaj bꞌik kajibꞌ nimaq taq chꞌichꞌ chrij ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal. Konojel xkibaꞌn chꞌawem rech kasaqir aninaq, rumal sibꞌalaj kakixiꞌj kibꞌ.
And fearing lest they should fall upon some rocky shore, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished that the day would break.
30 Ri achyabꞌ ri e kꞌamowinaq bꞌik ri jukubꞌ xkichomaj chi keꞌl bꞌik pa ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal chutoꞌik kibꞌ. Rumal riꞌ xkichapleꞌj u qasaxik ri alaj taq jukubꞌ pa ri plo, xkijaluj tajin kakiqasaj nikꞌaj chꞌichꞌ chik ri kachapow ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal.
But when the mariners endeavored to flee out of the ship, and had let down the boat into the sea, under pretense that they were about to carry out anchors from the ship-head;
31 Are kꞌu ri Pablo xubꞌij che ri nim taqanel pa kiwiꞌ ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit, xuqujeꞌ chike ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit: We man kekanaj kan ri achyabꞌ ri e kꞌamowinaq bꞌik ri jukubꞌ chupam ri jukubꞌ, man kixkwin taj kitoꞌ iwibꞌ.
Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, Unless these continue in the ship, you can not be saved.
32 Xepe kꞌu ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit, xkiqupij ri kolobꞌ ri ximbꞌem ri alaj jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal xkitzoqopij bꞌik pa ri plo.
Then the soldiers cut off the cords of the boat, and let it fall off.
33 Are xsaqirik ri Pablo xubꞌij chike konojel chi kuyaꞌo kewaꞌik, xubꞌij chike: Xeꞌ kajlajuj qꞌij man ixwarinaq taj, xuqujeꞌ man kꞌo ta jas itijom.
And while the day was coming on, Paul exhorted them all to take some food, saying, To-day, whilst waiting for this fourteenth day, you continue fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Chixwoꞌq chibꞌana toqꞌobꞌ rumal cher xa ta ne jun kutzaq jun uwiꞌ chaqe.
I exhort you, therefore, to take a refreshment; for this is conducive to your safety: for not a hair shall fall from the head of any of you.
35 Are xbꞌiꞌtaj waꞌ rumal, ri Pablo xukꞌam ri kaxlan wa, xutyoxij che ri Dios chkiwach konojel, kꞌa te riꞌ xupirij, xutijo.
And when he had spoke thus, and had taken bread, he gave thanks to God, before them all; and having broken it, he began to eat.
36 Kꞌa te riꞌ konojel xkikꞌam chuqꞌabꞌ, xkichapleꞌj waꞌim.
And being all encouraged, they also took some food.
37 Uj kebꞌ ciento rukꞌ oxkꞌal waqibꞌ chqonojel ri uj kꞌo pa ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal.
And we were in the ship, in all two hundred and seventy-six souls.
38 Are xqalej, xkesaj kan ri tiriko pa ri jukubꞌ, xkikꞌyaq kan pa ri plo rech man kuya ta al pa ri jukubꞌ.
And being satisfied with food, they lightened the ship; and cast the corn into the sea.
39 Are xsaqirik man xkichꞌobꞌ ta ubꞌiꞌ ri ulew ri xkil apanoq, xkil kꞌu apanoq jun uqꞌabꞌ plo ri okinaq bꞌik chupam ri ulew, sanyobꞌ uchiꞌ. Xkichomaj resaxik bꞌik ri jukubꞌ je laꞌ pa ri ulew we kekwinik.
And when it was day, they did not know the land: but they perceived a certain creek, with a shore, into which they determined, if they were able, to force the ship.
40 Xkiqupij ri kolobꞌ ri ximowinaq ri chꞌichꞌ ri kachapow ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal pa ri plo, xuqujeꞌ xeꞌkikir taq ri paleꞌt ri ketoꞌw chubꞌinisaxik ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal puꞌwiꞌ jaꞌ. Xkiyak ri manta ri kꞌo choch ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal rech kuriq ri kyaqiqꞌ, xkiqebꞌisaj kꞌu ri jukubꞌ chunaqaj ri sanyobꞌ chiꞌ ri plo.
And having cut off the anchors, leaving them in the sea, they, at the same time, loosing the rudder bands, and hoisting up the mainsail to the wind, pressed toward the shore.
41 Xopan ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal jawjeꞌ e kꞌo wi kebꞌ bꞌinel jaꞌ, xchꞌapiꞌ pa ri jutanaj sanyobꞌ. Ri utzaꞌm ri jukubꞌ xunim bꞌi ribꞌ pa ri sanyobꞌ, are kꞌu ri rij ri jukubꞌ xuchapleꞌj jaqꞌinik rumal ri uchuqꞌabꞌ ri jaꞌ.
But falling on a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground, and the fore part stuck fast, and remained immovable, while the hinder part was broken by the force of the waves.
42 Ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit xkichomaj kikamisaxik ri winaq ri okisatal pa cheꞌ, rech man kꞌo ta jun kamuxanik, kanimaj bꞌik.
And the counsel of the soldiers was, that they should kill the prisoners, lest any one should swim away, and escape.
43 Are kꞌu ri achi ri kataqan pa kiwiꞌ ri ajchꞌoꞌjabꞌ chajil tinimit, karaj kutoꞌ kan ri Pablo, rumal riꞌ man xuya ta bꞌe che ri xkichomaj. Xuꞌtaq kꞌu konojel ri achyabꞌ ri kekwinik kemuxanik, kakikꞌyaq bꞌik kibꞌ pa ri plo rech koꞌpan cho ri ulew.
But the centurion, being desirous to save Paul, hindered them from their purpose, and commanded those that could swim, to throw themselves out first, into the sea, and get away to land:
44 Are kꞌu ri nikꞌaj chik xebꞌe chrij taq tzꞌalam, chirij uꞌchꞌaqaꞌpil taq ri jukubꞌ bꞌinibꞌal. Xaq jeriꞌ konojel xeꞌl bꞌik chuchiꞌ ri plo.
and the remainder, some upon planks, and others upon some of the things of the ship. And so it happened that they all got safe to land.
