1 Qachalal, are kꞌu ri upetik ri Ajawxel Jesucristo xuqujeꞌ ri qariqoj ibꞌ rukꞌ areꞌ, qas kixqabꞌochiꞌj rech
NOW we entreat you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him:
2 makꞌexen ri ichomabꞌal xuqujeꞌ makꞌaxir iwanimaꞌ rumal ri kabꞌix chiꞌwe chi xuriq ri upetibꞌal ri Ajawxel we kabꞌix chiꞌwe rumal jun uxlabꞌal, pa tzij ne kabꞌix chiꞌwe o xuqujeꞌ xane pa wuj tzꞌibꞌatal wi loq chiꞌwe pune qatzꞌibꞌ uj kabꞌantajik.
that ye be not hastily agitated with apprehension, nor troubled, neither by spirit, nor by discourse, nor by letter, as coming from us, as though the day of the Lord was instantly approaching.
3 Miya iwibꞌ pa subꞌik, ri uqꞌijal ri Ajawxel kꞌamajaꞌ kuriqo are nabꞌe kakꞌulmataj ri elik pa ri kojobꞌal xuqujeꞌ ri qꞌij are kukꞌut ribꞌ ri achi bꞌanal mak, ri ralkꞌwaꞌl etzelal.
Let no man deceive you in any way: because that cannot be till the apostasy come first, and the man of sin appear, the son of perdition,
4 We achi riꞌ kubꞌan ukꞌulel che ronojel ri tzujtal cho ri Dios. Kubꞌan kꞌu na rech che ri Templo xuqujeꞌ kubꞌij na Dios chibꞌil ribꞌ.
who opposeth himself against, and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or is the object of adoration; so that he in the temple of God sitteth as God, exhibiting himself in public that he is God.
5 ¿La man kanaꞌtaj chiꞌwe chi xintzijoj waꞌ we riꞌ chiꞌwe are in kꞌo iwukꞌ?
Do ye not remember that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 Iwetaꞌm chi kꞌo jun jastaq ri kaqꞌaten we achi riꞌ rech man kukꞌut ta na ribꞌ xane kꞌa te kukꞌut ribꞌ qas pa ri uqꞌijal.
And now ye know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7 Je kꞌu riꞌ rumal cher tajin kachakun chik ri etzelal ri awatal loq, xaq xwi majaꞌ kesaxik ri tajin kaqꞌaten we achi riꞌ rech kukꞌut ribꞌ.
For the mystery of iniquity is already powerfully working; only he that withholdeth hitherto, will do so till he is removed.
8 We xikꞌow we riꞌ, kukꞌut na ribꞌ ri itzel achi, are riꞌ ri kakamisax na rumal ri Ajawxel rukꞌ ri Uxlabꞌal ri kel loq puꞌchiꞌ xuqujeꞌ katukix na rukꞌ ri utunal ri upetibꞌal ri Ajawxel.
And then that lawless person will appear, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming;
9 Are ri Itzel kabꞌanow na chi ri itzel achi kape na kulubꞌanaꞌ ronojel uwach mayijabꞌal taq jastaq, kꞌutbꞌal xuqujeꞌ jastaq ri xaq qꞌolobꞌal.
whose appearing is known by fanatical energy, displayed in all power, and signs, and lying miracles,
10 Rukꞌ ronojel uwach etzelal kuꞌmenkꞌetij na konojel ri kasach kiwach, jeriꞌ rumal man xkaj taj xkiloqꞌaj ri qas tzij rumal riꞌ man xekolotaj taj.
and in every unrighteous delusion among those who perish: in consequence of which things they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 Rumal riꞌ, kuya na bꞌe ri Dios che we jastaq riꞌ kakꞌulmatajik rech rumal ri ukwinem ri subꞌunik, ri winaq kekojon na che ri bꞌanoj tzij.
And for this cause God shall send unto them the energy of delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 Rech jeriꞌ kaqꞌat na tzij pa kiwiꞌ konojel ri man xekojon ta che ri qas tzij, xane are xekiꞌkot chubꞌanik ri etzelal.
that they all might be damned who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 Ri uj kꞌut rajawaxik kaqaya tyoxinik che ri Dios rumal iwe ix qachalal, rumal ix loqꞌ rumal ri Ajawxel, jeriꞌ rumal pa ri majibꞌal rech ronojel, ri Dios xixuchaꞌo rech kixkolotajik rumal ri chak rech ri Uxlabꞌixel ri katyoxirisanik xuqujeꞌ ri ikojobꞌal ri kꞌo pa ri qas tzij.
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath elected you from the beginning unto salvation, by sanctification of the Spirit, and faith in the truth:
14 Rumal waꞌ xixusikꞌij apanoq ri Dios rumal ri utz laj taq tzij ri xqatzijoj chiꞌwe, rech jeriꞌ kꞌo iwe che ri ujuluwem ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.
whereunto also he called you by our gospel, in order to your acquisition of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Xaq jeriꞌ qachalal, kꞌo chixkꞌoloq xuqujeꞌ chixjeqeloq pa taq ri kꞌutuꞌn ri qabꞌim xuqujeꞌ qatzꞌibꞌam chiꞌwe.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and firmly hold the injunctions delivered to you, as ye have been taught, whether by our discourse, or by letter.
16 Tzaꞌre ri Ajawxel Jesucristo rachiꞌl ri Dios Tataxel ri xujuloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ xukubꞌisaj qakꞌuꞌx chibꞌe qꞌij saq. (aiōnios g166)
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God, and Father, who hath loved us, and given us everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)
17 Chixutaqchiꞌj xuqujeꞌ chuya uchuqꞌabꞌ ri iwanimaꞌ rech ta kꞌu pa tzij xuqujeꞌ pa ri chak are chibꞌana ri utzilal.
comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
