1 Xaq jeriꞌ qachalal, kaqata chiꞌwe rukꞌ ronojel qanimaꞌ pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Ajawxel Jesús are chikꞌaslebꞌej ri kꞌaslemal ri qas kaqaj cho ri Dios, jetaq ri xiwetaꞌmaj qukꞌ.

FINALLY, brethren, we beseech you therefore, and conjure you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk, and please God, so ye would abound more and more.

2 Iwetaꞌm chik ri ucholajil ri xqakꞌamawaꞌj che ri Ajawxel xuqujeꞌ xqabꞌij chiꞌwe ix.

For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

3 Jeriꞌ rumal ri urayibꞌal ukꞌuꞌx ri Ajawxel are chi kiqꞌat iwibꞌ che ri makaj kukꞌ taq achyabꞌ xuqujeꞌ kukꞌ taq ixoqibꞌ.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from whoredom;

4 Chiꞌjujunal chiwetaꞌmaj jas jeꞌ kibꞌan chuchajixik ri ityoꞌjal rech jeriꞌ kikꞌaslebꞌej jun tyoxalaj kꞌaslemal sibꞌalaj nim uqꞌij.

that every one of you may know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour,

5 Man je ta kixnoꞌjinik jetaq ri winaq ri man e kojoninaq taj che ri Dios.

not in the vile passion of lewdness, as the Gentiles which know not God;

6 Xuqujeꞌ man kꞌo ta bꞌa jun kubꞌan kꞌax che ri rachalal rukꞌ taq we jastaq riꞌ. Ri Ajawxel kuqꞌat na tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri jewaꞌ kenoꞌjinik, jetaq ri qakꞌutum chiꞌwach.

that no man transgress against, or act dishonestly to his brother in this matter because the Lord is the avenger of all such things, as we have told you before, and testified.

7 Jeriꞌ rumal ri Dios man xujusikꞌij ta apanoq chubꞌanik chꞌulujil xane rech kaqakꞌaslebꞌej jun tyoxalaj kꞌaslemal.

For God hath not called us unto impurity, but unto holiness.

8 Xaq jeriꞌ xapachin ri karetzelaj we ucholajil we jastaq riꞌ, man are ta karetzelaj ri winaq xane are karetzelaj ri Dios, ri xyoꞌwik ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel chiꞌwe.

Therefore he that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his Holy Spirit.

9 Man rajawaxik ta kꞌut kaqatzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe chi kiloqꞌaj iwibꞌ chiꞌjujunal, jeriꞌ rumal cher are ri Dios kꞌutuwinaq chiꞌwach jas kibꞌan chuloqꞌaxik iwibꞌ.

Now concerning brotherly love, I have no need to write unto you: for ye yourselves are divinely taught to love one another.

10 Qas tzij wi sibꞌalaj iꞌloqꞌ ri alaxik ri keꞌl pa Macedonia. Pune jeriꞌ kixqataqchiꞌj rech sibꞌalaj kiloqꞌaj iwibꞌ ix.

And indeed ye practise it towards all the brethren that are throughout Macedonia: but we conjure you, brethren, to abound more and more;

11 Chikojo ichuqꞌabꞌ rech jeriꞌ kixkꞌojiꞌ pa jaꞌmaril kukꞌ konojel ri winaq xuqujeꞌ are chiwilij ri rajawaxik kibꞌano xuqujeꞌ chikojo ri iqꞌabꞌ chubꞌanik ri ichak, jetaq ri qabꞌim chiꞌwe.

and that you make it your study to live peaceably, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we have enjoined you;

12 Rech rukꞌ ri inoꞌjibꞌal kiꞌchek ri winaq ri man e kojonelabꞌ taj xuqujeꞌ man kitoqꞌij ta jastaq iwe chike.

that ye walk becomingly towards those without, and need no assistance from any person.

13 Qachalal, man kaqaj taj chi mat kiwetaꞌmaj jas kakꞌulmataj kukꞌ ri kojonelabꞌ ri e kaminaq chik, rech man kixbꞌison taj jetaq ri kakibꞌan ri man kꞌo ta kuꞌlibꞌal kikꞌuꞌx.

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are fallen asleep, that ye be not afflicted, as the rest of mankind who have no hope.

14 Ri uj kaqakojo chi ri Jesús xkamik xuqujeꞌ xkꞌastaj uwach je xuqujeꞌ kabꞌan na chikikꞌastajisaxik ri xekamik ri kuꞌl kikꞌuꞌx pa Cristo.

For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again, so also those that have fallen asleep for Jesus shall God bring with him.

15 Rumal riꞌ kaqabꞌij chiꞌwe ri kubꞌij ri utzij ri Ajawxel, ri uj ri man uj kaminaq taj man kujnabꞌej ta bꞌik chikiwach ri e kaminaqibꞌ are kape ri Ajawxel.

For this I say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent those who are fallen asleep.

16 Tzi are ri Ajawxel kaqaj na loq pa ri kaj, kꞌa te riꞌ rukꞌ ri utaqanik ri kinimal ri angelibꞌ xuqujeꞌ rukꞌ ri usuꞌ ri Dios, kekꞌastaj na bꞌik nabꞌe ri e kaminaqibꞌ pa Cristo.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Ri uj kꞌut ri uj kꞌaslik, ri man uj kaminaq ta na, kujkꞌam bꞌik junam kukꞌ, kujeꞌ na pa ri sutzꞌ keꞌqariqa qibꞌ rukꞌ ri Ajawxel pa ri kyaqiqꞌ.

then we who are alive, who remain, shall be caught up together with them into the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord.

18 Xaq jeriꞌ chitaqchiꞌj iwibꞌ chiꞌjujunal rukꞌ taq we tzij riꞌ.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
